It uses a little bit your RAM so there's a small impact on battery life. That's why I use MOADB

What's that like on battery life and ram? Does it block YouTube ads? And finally and importantly... Does it work with ART?

i'm using adaway and it works perfectly, also with art. because of the way it blocks (routing in the hosts file), websites and apps does not detect it as adblocking.

As far as I remember it takes 5-6Mb of your RAM. About ART it should work (http://www.androidruntime.com/list)

The drain from the AndroidSystem is usually normal for an OS to do that especially for running for 7h or more, but if your really worried about it different kernels can be customized to lower it depending on governors and I/O's
Please post pics of screen on and battery usage screen
How much battery does sweep2wake use? Is it worth it to enable it or does it just totally kill the battery? Is it possible to also screw up the screen with it too?

I tried the TouchControl app. Even if this kind of features is cool the battery drain was too important imo. I don't remember the exact percent but it was important enough to uninstall this app.
I didn't try yet the built-in feature from custom kernels though.
Finally there's no risk for your screen.
If you don't want adblocking or dns changes but only crossbreeder for reduce lag.. here you go! Using it with allaince w/stock kernel.. works great!

Thanks for testing this! Crossbreeder is amazing, glad to see its working well for you. Looking forward to running it when I update to 4.3.

Is there somewhere to get more info on this?

The op of the thread does a pretty good job.
Crossbreeder is a random entropy generator that takes available "entropy" caused by normal system processes and puts it into a type of pool. This energy is normally wasted and isn't collected. Think of it as an energy pool where you can take energy from when needed. Easy examples of what this speeds up is the launcher, opening up any app requiring Internet (ie: tapatalk and browser). It won't actually speed up your Internet connection but will cut the querying time down significantly.
This mod doesn't include frandom implementation that is responsible for the adblocking nature of crossbreeder. If you use adaway or adblock this isn't really needed. Plus the implementation of it tends to break some processes such as Google wallet from functioning.
Is this what you were looking for?
Edit: I think I mixed something up somewhere, maybe frandom is still there, but whatever module that is responsible for ad blocking is taken out.

I don't know how helpful this mod is but it tripled my entropy.

I notice significant difference in speed of pretty much everything, at least on 4.1.

I'm on 4.3. It has helped with my music stopping for a sec as I open the lock screen. I like it for that reason alone.
Edit: now that I'm using the phone more I can tell a huge difference. This mod is making the phone smoking fast.

Android OS is using up a big chunk of battery life. Attached are six screenshots. What are your thoughts?

That's similar to what my phone reports, and has for a long time now, except my Android OS numbers are higher.
So, yep, it's normal.
Anybody else want to post screenshots of their battery life to compare?

Mine is pretty similar. Most of my use today has been Words With Friends or Boom Beach.

hello all
I am trying to find an app that will let me disable the cores that I don't want to use. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Tutorial would be great

Sorry can you please elaborate?
Just use kernel adiutor to disable any of the 4 big cores, or little ones.

You would disable 2 big on battery and leave 4 big only while charging. The little cores can all be left on, or maybe leave 3. I haven't noticed a difference between 4 and 2 little cores for battery or temp.
