Wow. Just had the exact same problem an hour ago. Take out the battery, connect the microUSB charger to that of a tablet or a bigger phone (hint: the charger should give at least 1.5A of current, not 0.85A like the E's charger does). After connecting the charger, put the battery back in. After about ten minutes, try flashing again. It'll work.

Hit or miss. Sometimes (on my laptop, for example), USB 3.0 works. Some other times (on my friend's laptop (he has Xperia J)), USB 2.0 has to be used.
Why? What happened?
No change is still flashing red light and the computer it is not.

What the green LED?
I think you need to charge via a real charger. Even USB 3.0 doesn't give enough current.
After Flash mode, Emma, or PC Companion, always remove your phone's battery after flashing.

Hello to all XDA-Developers and mortals
After years of using this forum and always being helped by just using the search function, this time I need to make this Post to hopefully get some help.
I have right now a touch Pro, with the original rom from HTC support site on my tPro. (Before it was several different Energy roms)
since a week my only chance to get my tPro charged is, using a USB connection cable since the original charger won't charge furthermore it discharges my device in less than e few minutes. I can actualy watch it sucking it out.
hase anybody an Idea what might fix this problem.
I want to (miss)use this post to thank all the chefs and developers that have worked on improving our everyday experience with our devices.
thank you all.
just go to start-->settings-->system-->battery and should say something about not charging on pc and you should be set from there

there is the option that says [do not charge over USB if conected to PC]
if I uncheck this one it won't even charge over USB, but my problem is that the battery is not charged with the original charger.

have u shut off the phone properly and take out the battery for like 30 seconds and putting it back in and connecting the charger? if that doesnt work, look for a spare USB cable sometimes USB cables give in at times, or look for a usb ac charger
Yesterday I was using the Tf when my batery level go down so I plug it to the wall charger, A couple of hours later I tried to turn on the device but nothing happened even any light was on. Till that I can´t switch on my tablet.
Please help
Was the charging light on the tablet on when you plugged it to the charger? What color was the LED? Trying to determine if it was charging.
When I plugged it everything was normal a batery came up in the lcd but after a few hours when I tried to use the tablet allso the screen and the led were down

I try everything press the power boton for 30 seconds, volume down... etc all I read. But one strange thing is that if I connect the usb cable first to my laptop and then to the tablet my laptop restart without reasson.
Are the pins on the power cable or the tablet bent or broken? Maybe try to turn on the tablet when it's plugged into the power cable? Also, you can try to let it sit for 24hours (maybe longer) to see if whatever power is left in the battery completely dies. Then try plugging it in again to power cable and hit power button to see if it powers up.

Cable and pins are ok... I had try to turn on when is pluged... so i´ll do what you mention. Then I will tell you what happen.
Thanks for your help.
You tried to charge it via the USB cable and your laptop? I do not believe your laptop's battery can deliver enough juice to actually charge the 700, so then it wouldn't surprise me the 700's battery is as dead as a dodo. Try the wall charger instead.

It is also possible the wall charger failed. I had this happen when mine was a month old. I could only charge off of my usb 3 on the back of my big pc until I was able to get another.

The problem is that when I pluged it to the wall charger the power light doesn´t turn on. the same happend when I try to charge via USB. I just don´t know what to do.
Thanks
If none of that worked, I would say to call ASUS for a possible hardware RMA.

i am using the original charger to the wall charge. even i plug it into pc the red cross still showing. any solution?
As it's stated above - The Galaxy Note 10.1 can not charge threw USB due to the high power usage, all it can do is a "status quo" on battery usage.
So if you wan't to charge the Note, plugg it directly into the wall, and if possible, avoid power extenders.

If you are using the ac charger and the original cable, then you may have a fault in either the charger or the usb cable
If you can borrow a friends usb cable test to see if that helps
If not try your friends charger.
After a while the usb cable gets damaged and when damage can show a fault in different ways
Slow charging
The red cross appears
It shows charging but the battery never goes pass say about 1%
It shows charging but instead the unit is discharging.
If you get any of these before you wipe your device try another cable if possible
I have had my replaced already and ferl I will go and get a docking unit, and a spare cable

sorry for late reply.
i did get a new charger from ebay but unfortuately the red cross is still there but nevertheless it charge slowly.. it took me about 8 to 10 hr for fully charged.
any other solution?
The probabilities are:
Charging Port is broken
Charging cable / Charging cable connector(s) is(are) broken
AC Charger is broken
Analysis:
Borrow someone else's charger & cable
Try the combination :
Other charger + your cable ==> if working then your Charger is broken
Your charger + other cable ==> if working then your Cable is broken
Other Charger + other Cable ==> if working Both Charger & Cable are broken
If all failed ==> your Charging port are broken
Eliminate posibilities
Hy guys, as you can read my phone suddenly started not to charge. One day i was chatting on whatsapp and suddenly the phone turned off with 5% of battery remaining. Since that moment the phone is not charging. I change the battery and the usb port board but it is still not charging. It recognises that the usb cable is plugged in but it doesn't charge... i tried to charge it while in bootloader, recovery or with the phone turned off.. Nothing worked. I don't want to factory reset it since i have 11% of battery holding at that level thanks to the charger. DO you guys have any ideas? thanks....

Try using stock charger and stock usb cable. I also had the issue stock usb cable fixed it.
I am using the stock charger but my stock cable is destroyed. I have another cable that is really good, I have always used it and I tryed also different cables but still not charging... It just can't stop charging from one moment to another because of the cable, that cable is perfectly fine. Thanks anyway Any other suggestion?

I know how these things works and I have already tried different chargers and cable and stock ones as well and it is not a problem of charger or cable. Any other useful suggestion?
Make sure that when you replaced the battery, all the cables were clipped back in right.

Yes thanks but I already checked. That's not the problem.
Guys, please tell me how to solve the problem: phone is connected to the charger, but it says that it is not charging.
Previously, he calmly charged, but now he does not want to ..
The wire and power supply charge other devices quietly.
You should try another cable and charger block. Move the connector around in slow increments to see if the lightning bolt shows up in battery. Reboot the phone and check. Common sense is to check these things

The strangest thing is that the non-working cable used to work perfectly. It even now charges other devices.
I tried another cable and everything works, I don't understand why the Pixel doesn't want to charge from the old cable ...

It's about the phone itself. That cable charges other devices and used to calmly charge the pixel, but recently stopped.
I tried another cable - everything works. But the current one is shorter than my last one by 2 meters
Same for me all my previous huawei supercharge compatible cable are not working with the pixel.
