[Q] My TF don´t turn on or even turn the light on when I plug it - Asus Transformer TF700

Yesterday I was using the Tf when my batery level go down so I plug it to the wall charger, A couple of hours later I tried to turn on the device but nothing happened even any light was on. Till that I can´t switch on my tablet.
Please help

Was the charging light on the tablet on when you plugged it to the charger? What color was the LED? Trying to determine if it was charging.

When I plugged it everything was normal a batery came up in the lcd but after a few hours when I tried to use the tablet allso the screen and the led were down

I try everything press the power boton for 30 seconds, volume down... etc all I read. But one strange thing is that if I connect the usb cable first to my laptop and then to the tablet my laptop restart without reasson.

Are the pins on the power cable or the tablet bent or broken? Maybe try to turn on the tablet when it's plugged into the power cable? Also, you can try to let it sit for 24hours (maybe longer) to see if whatever power is left in the battery completely dies. Then try plugging it in again to power cable and hit power button to see if it powers up.

Cable and pins are ok... I had try to turn on when is pluged... so i´ll do what you mention. Then I will tell you what happen.
Thanks for your help.

You tried to charge it via the USB cable and your laptop? I do not believe your laptop's battery can deliver enough juice to actually charge the 700, so then it wouldn't surprise me the 700's battery is as dead as a dodo. Try the wall charger instead.

It is also possible the wall charger failed. I had this happen when mine was a month old. I could only charge off of my usb 3 on the back of my big pc until I was able to get another.

The problem is that when I pluged it to the wall charger the power light doesn´t turn on. the same happend when I try to charge via USB. I just don´t know what to do.
Thanks

If none of that worked, I would say to call ASUS for a possible hardware RMA.

[Q] TF101G - Charging issues

Hi all,
Sorry in advance if I'm asking for something that has been answered before.
I have seen lots of threads that talked about the Asus Transformer tf101 and tf101G that doesn't charge correctly.
My TF101G stopped charging after it was fully drained after the kids played some games on it. When I plugged it in to charge the TF screen came on with a big battery indicator which showed a empty battery with red at the bottom. Then it just goes off. When trying to switch on again it just briefly flashes this battery and goes off again.
I left the TF to "charge" overnight and this morning after about 6 hours of charging it had +-14% battery life.
So it appears that the charger still trickle charges the TF when it completely off, but doesn't want to charge when it powered on.
Also, the TF recognizes the cable when it gets plugged in. If off and with some power in the battery the TF starts to boot up, but no charge indicator is showed when booted and battery drains as per normal.
Could it be that this is a software issue? I would guess not, but then again I ask myself if the charger or USB cable was broken then it wouldn't trickle charge. right?
Anyone came across this yet?
I know that some people suggested the freezer trick, but I don't want to do that before I checked on this with the community members here.
Many thanks in advance for your assistance and sorry again if I missed a similar thread.

It could. The charger cable got 2 red wires thats connected to the same point on the TF.
One of the wires is your normal +5v USB power, while the other is connected to a USB3 pin to tell the charger to spit out 15V instead of 5V.
If that particular cable is broken, the charger will only send 5V.
The odds that that small wire is broken though, is... well, very slim.

[Q] battery not charging

I notice that my battery is not charging. I can plug it into the outlet, and it works fine. I plug it into the computer, and it shows up, but on the tablet, it does not show that it is charging. Any ideas?

So is it charging or not charging? Your post kinda confusing hence no one answer. It doe not show that it's charging on the tablet but is the battery itself being charge or not?

I plug it into the computer via the usb cable, and it does not charge. It usually does charge when i plug it in.
Mine just started doing that right now! I plug it in to the AC charger and doesn't show it charging, says not plugged in. Then I put it on the keyboard and try to charge the keyboard and still says not plugged. I also tried connecting it to my pc, and my pc reads it but still doens't charge. I also just updated from HC 2 days ago. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Usually with the USB to PC it will trickle charge while the screen is off or TF turned OFF. It just doesn't put out enough power to fully charge the TF in a quick manner.
Did you recently change anything on your TF? Like update ROM ect...?
Many peoples have the same problems with ICS

that's weird, because it never did this before. if i updated it to jb, would this fix it? is there a known issue with this in ics? and so my battery does charge when it is off? why only a trickle charge? no, i have not updated/flashed any roms to it.

i don't understand why I would need a new cable, or why it would fix it, when the cable works fine for syncing. also, why does it not do a regular charge?

So did mine. no data problems, but it would only trickle charge from ac or usb. I inspected every mm of the cable and couldn't find a problem with it but the new cable worked straight away. I imagine the problem was with worn pins

that's weird. i don't think i would have used mine too much, for the pins to wear out. but you said that yours would trickle charge in ac. mine will do the full charge in the ac. so maybe there is something else wrong with mine?

No you cant change it. Unlike lets say a smart phone that will charge at like 5v the TF101 needs 12v-15v to activate fast charge. anything under 12v will trickle charge the TF101 and usb's dont not supply 12v, it would do no harm if they did aka the ac charger does exactly that.

so that's why the battery icon shows it's not charging then. it's just the trickle charge. any way to really confirm this? i just want to make sure it is actually doing this.

Well drain you battery to lets say 60%, shut it down, plug it into your pc then check the battery levels after an hour or two. then compare it with an ac charge.
ok i got mine working! I read on a thread that someone posted about the heat sensor inside of the AC charger box that trips. So what they said to do was put it in a sandwich bag and take out all of the air and seal it, then put it in the fridge. I forgot about it and left it for a day! haha. Well i just took it out blew on it a bit to take off the humidity, plugged it in and now its charging.

That the way but I find out another ways:
- take your AC out power point and leave it couple hours or longer and then plug back it'll be work:fingers-crossed:
- After charge or none used anymore unplug AC from power point (not turn off switcher) never leaved it there
because the heat sensor inside of the AC charger

[Q] My TF101 wont charge but it connects to the computer

Well I let it drain all the way one day by accident. Then when I tried to charge it with the stock cable and a non-stock brick it would take hours for it to charge fully. Also it did not charge while it was on and being used. It would have to be turned off for it to charge. So I quit on it and left it in the dust for 3 months. I then bought a new cable thinking that the cable was the problem (it was a 3.0 USB cable). it was also a fail. It charges slower than before. I dont know what the problem is. While it was on 3% battery I did a factory reset thinking that would fix it. It completed and still nothing. is it broken? Or am I doing something wrong?
help me please!

Turn it off. Connect to your PC's USB port for 6-8 hours. Put the ASUS charger in the fridge for 30 mins while pc charging. Then allow charger to warm up to room temp and plug into TF101 and it should charge.

Thats not the problem. I have multiple back up chargers. I have two Samsung GS3 chager bricks. They charge perfectly. The cable is brand new. The tablet just wont charge quick after 3 months of battery being drained. IDK what to do... :crying:
I was told there is a switch on or near the battery for this problem, don't quote me on it, I am just repeating what I was told and have not tried it myself but if you have nothing left to try, it might be worth checking

I had the exact same problem, was hard to solve but it ended up not being tbr charger cable but the charger brick. Using a different brick for the tf doesn't work,. I bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0081PVGZE/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1352114943&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
and never looked back, charges very quick as well.
Hope this helped.

It seems A LOT of people have this problem with their charger on the Asus tablets. The problem is the power brick not supplying the required 15V to charge the tablet. It still supplies the usual 5V which makes it charge very slowly and ONLY when the screen is off or the whole device is turned off.
Anyway... either buy yourself another charger (those cheap ones on Ebay for $11 will do the trick) or make your own from a spare 12V power supply you got laying around the house and female USB cable end (like I did!).

[Q] Problem with charger

Hello,
I didn't use my tablet since 2 month and last week, i installed team EOS 4.2.2 JB rom.
After, my cable did'nt worked, When i tried to conect it to my computer, there was an error message that the tablet wasn't detect correctly.
And when i put the cable into the charger and the table to charge on the wall, i saw the icon on the right corner of the tablet charging but in the information battery, i sax that "Disconect" and the tablet % didn't grow up.... So i thought the cable was dead and i bouth one new on ebay.
With the new cable, no problem the tablet was detect and the charging with the charger was good. But after 2 days, i had new problems.
when i conect the tablet on my laptop, all is OK, the tablet is detect normally. But whn i try to charging with the charger on the wall, the tablet doesn't charge. I see the icon in the right corner is charging but in the battery informations, i see "disconect" again and the battery doesn't charge.
Yesterday, i saw a topic that i can put the charger on the freezer, i put it alle the night and i tried this morning but nothing the tablet does'nt charge.
On the charger, there is 2 parts, I open the little part with removing a screw and i tried to little move the 2 metal parts but nothing alwas the same problem.
So i think now the problem is not the new cable but the charger.... I know it's a specific voltage and if i try with my HTC ONE X charger, this will not work...
But maybe it's a problem with the tablet connect port?
I changed the rom and i installed the Cyanogen 4.2.2 this morning, and now when i conect the cable, with the computer, it's OK i see my tablet but the icon on the table isn't charging and i see "disconect in the battery information". And with the charger wall, it's the same, i have charge icon and i have disconect in the battery information
Do you think i must buy a new charger?
Sorry for my poor English my French
Try a trickle charge from the USB PC > Tablet
Plug the tablet cable into PC USB port and turn off the screen, then leave to trickle charge overnight
If you have the screen on it will not charge, so best to leave it off for a few hours to test if it is a charger problem

When you use PC USB to charge, it will not show charging on the screen, you have to leave it overnight for best test results
The freezer trick should only be used for about 20 minutes just to cool the charger down and reset the cutout
Try trickle charge overnight, if it works, its the charger
I think this is because tablet use a lot of power when in use and that is why the tablet is discharging when you use it. PC has even less powerful USB charger so the tablet will probably be recharging VERY slowly or even discharging when you use it.
You should leave tablet overnight to recharge and it is better to charge it in one piece than constantly plugging and unplugging it from PC.
Have a nice day,
Žiga

You should be able to charge and use it at the same time with the actual charger plugged in, but you are correct, with the PC you can not use and charge unless you mod your USB ports for extra power
Ok i will try to conect the tablet (power off) all the night to my computer but i think it will not charge...
And if it's not work, it's not a problem with the cable because i can use the cable to transfer media PC> Tablet, so it's a problem on the tablet connector?
Hello,
My tablet was charging all the night. She was at 22% and now 38.... It's very slow!!! But now, i know that my tablet and my cable are OK and my charger is the problem.

Try this, separate charger and its pins, then take it along with the cable and put it in a zip pouch, now freeze for say 2 hrs. Take it out let it return to normal temperature and then try charging. Remember freeze them in a zip pouch (air tight)

[Q] turned off for a long time and now won't start

Hey all, I have a stock tf700t that was working well until the charger cable snapped. Several months passed before the replacement cable arrived. So I put it on to charge overnight, and got both the orange light initially and then the green led to say it was fully charged. But I can't get it to respond to any attempts to turn on. I tried the usual
Pwr held for 30 sec.
Pwr and volume buttons
and stincking a pin in the reset hole
- but nothing happens. no vibration or LCD response?
Reading some forums, I tried to use a PC USB port to trickle charge the device, but interestingly this does not light the LED's.
Any ideas as to what is happening?

Do you remember the charge state before you stored it? Li-ion batteries generally don't like being stored in a totally discharged condition, and if the voltage drops below a critical level, the battery can even be permanently damaged.
Try charging the tablet from a PC USB port (directly - not via the dock) - it's normal that in this case the LED does not light up.
thanks for the advice, I am pretty sure it would have been <5% battery, maybe even lower. I hope the battery is okay, and will try your idea.
The trickle charge via USB takes a long time. Leave it connected for at least 6 hours and make sure your PC doesn't hibernate or sleep.
