I notice that my battery is not charging. I can plug it into the outlet, and it works fine. I plug it into the computer, and it shows up, but on the tablet, it does not show that it is charging. Any ideas?

So is it charging or not charging? Your post kinda confusing hence no one answer. It doe not show that it's charging on the tablet but is the battery itself being charge or not?

I plug it into the computer via the usb cable, and it does not charge. It usually does charge when i plug it in.
Mine just started doing that right now! I plug it in to the AC charger and doesn't show it charging, says not plugged in. Then I put it on the keyboard and try to charge the keyboard and still says not plugged. I also tried connecting it to my pc, and my pc reads it but still doens't charge. I also just updated from HC 2 days ago. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Usually with the USB to PC it will trickle charge while the screen is off or TF turned OFF. It just doesn't put out enough power to fully charge the TF in a quick manner.
Did you recently change anything on your TF? Like update ROM ect...?
Many peoples have the same problems with ICS

that's weird, because it never did this before. if i updated it to jb, would this fix it? is there a known issue with this in ics? and so my battery does charge when it is off? why only a trickle charge? no, i have not updated/flashed any roms to it.
Have a look at my post on a similar issue: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31612760&postcount=2)

i don't understand why I would need a new cable, or why it would fix it, when the cable works fine for syncing. also, why does it not do a regular charge?

So did mine. no data problems, but it would only trickle charge from ac or usb. I inspected every mm of the cable and couldn't find a problem with it but the new cable worked straight away. I imagine the problem was with worn pins

that's weird. i don't think i would have used mine too much, for the pins to wear out. but you said that yours would trickle charge in ac. mine will do the full charge in the ac. so maybe there is something else wrong with mine?

No you cant change it. Unlike lets say a smart phone that will charge at like 5v the TF101 needs 12v-15v to activate fast charge. anything under 12v will trickle charge the TF101 and usb's dont not supply 12v, it would do no harm if they did aka the ac charger does exactly that.

so that's why the battery icon shows it's not charging then. it's just the trickle charge. any way to really confirm this? i just want to make sure it is actually doing this.

Well drain you battery to lets say 60%, shut it down, plug it into your pc then check the battery levels after an hour or two. then compare it with an ac charge.
ok i got mine working! I read on a thread that someone posted about the heat sensor inside of the AC charger box that trips. So what they said to do was put it in a sandwich bag and take out all of the air and seal it, then put it in the fridge. I forgot about it and left it for a day! haha. Well i just took it out blew on it a bit to take off the humidity, plugged it in and now its charging.

That the way but I find out another ways:
- take your AC out power point and leave it couple hours or longer and then plug back it'll be work:fingers-crossed:
- After charge or none used anymore unplug AC from power point (not turn off switcher) never leaved it there
because the heat sensor inside of the AC charger
Hello.
Yesterday I upgraded from KatKiss #018 to #019. Up to now #018 had worked perfectly, but today with #019 I noticed that when plugging in my charger (I don't have the dock), I didn't get the little 'flash' sign on the battery notification; going into the settings to look at battery usage, I noticed that i said 'Battery not charging' even though I had left the charger plugged in.
I unplugged the charger, turned off the tablet, and replugged the charger, and the tablet turned on, which it does when plugging in the charger and being off.
Has anybody had this problem? Is it really charging but not notifying it? If not, what can I do besides reflashing?
Thanks!
me too

No problems for me and most people I guess otherwise they would stay away from the rom if it was not charging
Try to power off completely your tablet, then cold boot.
Try to change cable, try to test with another charger.
If that doesn't help do a full wipe and a clean install and test again before reinstalling anything else on your tablet.
if that still doesn't help, follow the procedure to report an issue in my signature, I'm not psychic.
Hello.
I have a problem related to the battery as well. Ever since I flashed to #19, my tablet and dock battery seem to run dry very quickly in sleep mode. I have come home from work to occasionally find the tablet unable to boot (it had a dock charge of no greater than 75% and a tablet charge of 100%) and when I plug the charger into the dock and then boot it, I find both batteries have next to no charge.
This is only on timduru's KK#19. I never saw this problem on #18 and below, or any of the previous 'droid versions (4.3.1_029 or 4.2.2_226).
I am currently letting the tablet's battery run to empty and then I will be charging the dock and tablet separately, but this is the first time I've ever encountered this problem.
okay

Did you try another ROM? I'm on #20 and I think I have (mentionable) more battery life. Not charging issues. Guess the fresh installment / wipe helped or an energy eater didn't survive the reinstall. Also I could observe two things (which I don't know of if they are related): Sometimes when the tab was docked it didn't charge. Second the the tab hat a battery problem. When docked and in sleep -> Dock empty next morning. I controlled this with Juice defender but weren't able to locate the problem in an app. This is now gone.
From my experience: I bought 2 power cable for the TF101 (only cable). One works as USB cable with no loading feature (not on USB 3.0 nor on the wallcharger). The other one works as USB connection cable and as wall charger. I can extend the original cable with USB to USB cable to transfer data and charge. I can't get any of that both two (CHEAP) cables to load extended or trasfer data. The two cables I bought at ebay were diffrent vendors. One for ~2,50€ the other for ~4€. If I remember right the original cable where much much more. What I want to say: There are huge diffrences in USB cables. Dunno. It would be a strange accident that the charger or cable broke when / while you intalled a ROM. Could it be that the "intelligent" battery stats are broken somehow? So they think the battery is full and therefor not charge? Or would the icon / indicator then show 100%? Does the icon get its information from the same source (or directly from) as the android battery management?
(ps: 12 hours for 35%=! ROFL!?? What charger is that?)

if it takes that much time even when it's off, it means that it's only charging at 5V.
Also at 5V it won't charge unless the screen is off if I remember well.
There's a special pin/connection made in the cable for the charger to detect that it's a Transformer plugged that will make it charge at 12+V
There's most likely a pin/ contact broken either in your cable / charger /tab, that prevents it to charge at high voltage.

So you say you go with option #3 then because u already did option 2, right? Quote Tim on option 2: "Try to change cable, try to test with another charger.".
So you have 2 x THIS and 2 x THIS? Because that would mean, what Tim suggested I guess. As far as I know this is the only way ASUS shipps the original TF101.
I'm asking because most people that I know would buy another noname charger or even just a noname cable instead of horribly expensive original pieces. If you really got the 2 x 2 pieces shown above,
then I'd guess wether your tablet is broken or the software on it is broken. But again: Did the charging problem REALLY firstly appeared when intalled the ROM? Or did you install the ROM because of the
fault? Or don't you exactly know.
To point out again: It would be a strange coincidence, that both cables AND adapters would stop working exacly at the same time when u installed #19. If you use 2 different cables at the same adapter: Then it's possible that the adapter is broken and only gives the USB (5V) loading speed. If you use 2 adapters and 2 cables and tryed all combinations: The most likely something with the tab isn't cool. The software or the hardware...

I have loaded #29, and I started seeing this issue immediately. It was fine before that. After loading the ROM, it would only charge when TF is dead. I have the original charger and cable that came with it which was working fine before the upgrade. So, I don't suspect either of them.

Hello, recently I'm having a problem with my Galaxy Core with charging!
This occurs randomly, few times only! Not always:
When I plug in the charger, as usual, it shows battery charging! Even after charging one hour, when charger is unplugged, the battery meter doesn't increase! I've tried restarting, cooling down battery, charging again, and it charged normally 100%. So, basically it does not bother me much, but just wanna know if this happens to anybody else, and as, I think, its a hardware problem, so I worry about it?
Another thing is if I connect my APACER B120 Mobile Bank, the phone doesn't charge, does not even show its plugged in. Other phones charges perfectly, even with the same cable. Has anyone tried charging with this, or any portable charger? Thanks!
sound like hardware problem man

I have only one cable, and it is the one I got with the phone. Cable works fine even on Tether/ReverseTether!
My phone can transfer files at normal speeds in bootloader mode. It can even transfer files fine when booting up to kit kat. the issue is even though it does all I mentioned, it won't charge (or charges too slow to matter) via USB connected a PC or USB to any AC adapters. I've tried many working cables and AC adapters, could someone please help or point me in the write direction?
NOTE: It on occasion charges normally.

If it on occasion charges normally but not all the time then perhaps you have some internal damage at the charge port. Now I have no idea how to fix this but one other possibility you could try with the Nexus 5 is to get a wireless charger and see how that works out for you.

trying a wireless charger right now, same old game. slow charging still. I did notice the battery readings with Ampere, i attached a screenshot. the temp is negative -30 celsius on average often show a negative charging status no matter what charger is plugged in and EVEN with a wireless charger.
Does this mean I have a bad battery?
I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine at this point. I've never experienced that type of problem. I have experience of damage to the charge port with an old nook it behaved just like you said which is why I suggested wireless charging since we have it available on the Nexus.

yea, i bought a wireless charger to no avail. something either within the phones board or my old AC adapter had gone wonky, put a new battery in and the same thing began happening after 2 days.
Hy guys, as you can read my phone suddenly started not to charge. One day i was chatting on whatsapp and suddenly the phone turned off with 5% of battery remaining. Since that moment the phone is not charging. I change the battery and the usb port board but it is still not charging. It recognises that the usb cable is plugged in but it doesn't charge... i tried to charge it while in bootloader, recovery or with the phone turned off.. Nothing worked. I don't want to factory reset it since i have 11% of battery holding at that level thanks to the charger. DO you guys have any ideas? thanks....
