Ok so my N5 is stuck on a % that I plugged it in to charge it and it does not move from there! U have rooted stock 4.4.2 and franco 23.
ps: The only way it fixes is I have to discharge it with 1% or more and then it charges normally.
Wipe cache and dvalik and reboot see if it helps

Is it *actually* not charging, or is an app/widget telling you that? Look at the battery statistics and see what the actual battery level is at.
No apps or all. Even overnight like 8-10 hours it stucks on a specific % and does not drop or chargers. It is like it draws enough energy to work... I am using the original Gnexus charger which is 1.0A and it charged nex5 for like hour and a half when this stupid error does not occur.
i'd flash the stock kernel, wipe both caches and watch it to see if that resolves the problem

After Flashing G2x to the new CM7.1.0.1 and restoring my apps from TB, battery level was what it was before I flashed from Weapon G2x 2.7 (around 35%). After first reboot I noticed that the battery graphic in the status bar change to a picture with a ? in the middle. I then played around with some of the CM settings and changed the display to % which then changed to 100%
I flashed ROM to my backup of Weapon G2x 2.7 with the same symptom. I then went into CWM and wiped the battery stats, rebooted, and had the same problem.
Now I have flashed to EaglesBlood 2.3.7 GB and have the same issue!!
In all of these ROMs I have tried charging from wall charger as well as PC and do not get a charging indicator how ever I am able to USB storage.
Any suggestions?!
UPDATE 1: Just plugged phone in while in off state and the charging battery displayed. Must be an issue in the OS it self.
Install battery calibrator from the market, charge too 100%, use the app, unplug and use it till it shuts itself off then charge to 100% without interruption.
I always get the ? Battery after flashing a rom and even sometimes after a reboot but it settles itself after a couple seconds. Normally after it preps the after card.

Ok, i dont know what changed but I let it run for about an hour and the percent jumped down to 78%. I am now getting the charging icon. Going to completely discharge, wipe battery stats, fully charge, and then wipe battery stats again.
Hi,
I have recently tried out a few ROMs with my Nexus S to try to get better battery life. I tried CodeName Android and then figured I would try Slim ICS afterwards. I completely wiped everything and installed Slim ICS.
I have observed the following:
- Battery was ~40% when I installed Slim ICS
- I used it until the battery depleted
- Plugged phone into the wall charger
- Started the phone shortly afterwards (~25 minutes) and it says battery is 100% and then the phone randomly shut off
- Phone has been plugged into the wall charger and when I try to start it now sometimes it boots completely and then shuts off. Other times it just shuts off before it finishes booting up. The few times it does fully boot up, it says the battery is 100%
I've read through many postings about calibration but at this point I am not even able to fully turn on the phone even when its plugged into the wall.
Is this expected or is something else going on? I've never seen anything like this when I had the stock ICS. Why would erroneously report 100% but then not even let me fully turn on the phone? Thanks!

Maybe a bad battery?

Battery is fine. I ended up letting it charge a few hours and it now fully boots up and battery is almost fully charged now.
Whats strange is at times, when the battery was close to empty, when turned off and plugged into the wall, it showed the battery as being completely charged so I don't think it was charging. I had never observed this behavior with the stock ICS.

same problem
Even I have faced the same problem whenever I reboot keeping my pfone charging,
This is very normal,
just let the battery drain completely and next time charge it till 100% it will work perfectly,
It happens with me whenever I install new rom.
basically the battery indicator shows incorrect status also battery will drain very quickly later but once you finish installation just let your phone charge for 3 hours . Problem will get solved

Thanks. So it sounds like its more of a generic issue with ROMS in general as I never observed this before putting on a custom ROM.
Hi everyone I have a problem.
When I charge my battery it charges normally to 70 % after that it takes about 3 to 4 hours to charge till it reaches 100 % but if I reboot my device when it's charged to about 75% the Battery is suddenly fully charged.
I have tried to calibrated it but it didn't help.
I have this problem on every rom. What can the cause of the problem be.
It used to charge normally at first when I bought.
I have my desire s for one year now.
My device is rooted via revolutionary and s-off.
Thanks in advance.

Have a look at your battery for any swelling or signs of damage on the battery, it is possible that your battery is shot.
Re: battery...
Could it be that with the reboot,
device wipes its battery stats and looses the info?
(Or is it happening only during flash)
my phone has that same symptoms, but it happens mainly
, when i flash a rom, forgetting fully charge the battery before- after reboot it indicates full charge..
Edit: according to amidabuddha, htc has implemented safety switch in to charging procedure,
, when the load reaches certain level- it slows down
Then begins to indicate ' fully loaded' before
It realy gets to it- that is suposed to lengthen live of the battery,
but three to four hours sounds unusual...
Edit 2. When during charging battery gets to hot, charging stops as well...
Me too, charging from 0-70% needs 1,5-2 hours then 70-95% needs 4 hours, 95-100% just needs couple minutes, Idk why this happens, the battery stat says health...
When in the middle of charging I reboot the device, the level rises up anomaly, ex. The device is charging, and the level is 12 and I reboot, when I get back to homescreen it says 45%..
Also, the led changes from orange to yellow not when the level on fully charged, usually on the 90%.. my device is almost 2 year old

no, there is much difference in time.
From my experience, this behaviour is due to battery age. It started happening after about a year for me. I bought a new battery and the problem went away.
But I never had any real problems as a result of the slow charging of the old battery. If you recharge overnight, then it will have sufficient time to fully charge.
Based on what I now know, I wouldn't replace the battery until it stops holding its charge.

I just got a battery from etradesupply and now im having some issues with charging and fast drain. The battery will charge like normal up to 100% but if i power the phone off it will start charging for another 15 mins before full. After it's full and i power up it will show 85-90%. Ive done this cycle about 5 times. The battery also drains the first 10% in about 10mins after i unplug it then it will slow down. Just strange that even with these problems the battery life is about the same if not a bit better than the old battery. Im rooted running 5.0.1. I might try a fresh factory install when i have time. Anyone have suggestions before i try that?
bump...any ideas?

I'd say try to wipe everything on your device and flash the stock factory image first and see how it goes to rule out a software issue. If it still does not help then should be the battery.

When the battery first reaches 100% it's actually not done charging yet, it takes about 30mins afterwards before the juice stops flowing. If you unplug during that time it is normal for the battery to drop to show you the true charge level. Could that be what's happening here?
Try keeping it plugged in over night and then the next day it shouldn't drop by more then 1 or 2% (trickle charge kicks in around there).
I have a Samsung Galaxy A7 (A700FD) rooted with Android 4.4.4 on stock rom
the battery used to charge fully upto 100 percent until day before yesterday, but from that day it refuses to go beyond 92 percent.
I tried calibrating the battery using the apps available on play store...also tried manually deleting the batterystats.bin file to no avail.
also tried clearing cache from recovery .but no use
Here is a graph of the charging process.
Also tried various chargers...I also charged my other cell using the current charger...and it charges normally...it is a 2a charger..

batterystats.bin don't do anything with battery percentage, deleting it won't affect anything at all. It only contains which apps are consuming how much percentage of battery and it resets everytime u plug in your charger and your battery might be getting old.

I know that ...but I had to do something. ..If you know any other ways please suggest me...
I have already tried the following. ..
1. Clearing cache partition
2. Fully discharging it withough disturbing and then letting it charge fully... (only goes till 92)
3. Can't remove battery. ....non removable battery
4. Deleting batterystats.bin file and using battery calibration apps.
5. Kept it overnight for charging
Here's the latest graph of charging process with 2a charger ...
charger and cord both came with the box
I didn't disturb it while charging...Idk why charging process is so uneven...
tried charging other cells like s3, xperia u with it...They charge normally
please help
