I keep having this issue. I just got this phone 2 days ago. Rooted it and flashed Glorious Overdose and I like how fast it is and how much better it performs. I thought it was just the stock ROM but it does it on here too. Ill be using an app and all of a sudden the screen will just freeze. I can't click any application or anything. All i can do is lock the screen and press the home key. Even after locking it will sometimes stop and let me click and use it again but sometimes Ill have to lock it, and unlock it multiple times before it stops. Any suggestions or has this happened to anyone else?
This used to happen to me all the time. I don't know if it was just coincidence, but I put a screen protector on, and I don't seem to get the problem anymore.
really? ill have to try that out, because its really annoying. Sometimes it wont click, sometimes it will move stuff by itself lol.
Thanks for the advice. Just applied a screen protector and no longer does this

I had this problem also in GO atleast 2 or 3 times a day i found out for me it was the launcher causing my problem. So i switched to GG 3.0 and not 1 problem been using for 3 days no lockups nothing prefect.I would also suggest you flash the Blaze modem to the phone my 4g no longer hangs and is so much fast also.
I just got the HTC one s yesterday the 25th, and already suffer randomly reboot like 3 - 4 time in a day. I want to know if anyone is having the same problem.
I haven't had any reboot issues at all, just a weird screen refresh rate issue that I posted about in another thread. Going to try to swap mine tomorrow or Saturday to see if it's just this phone.

Yeah, also I have this "issue" but isn't a RANDOM REBOOT, it's only a secondary problem, put the phone in the opposite mode (change up to down) and you could resolve.
Crazy amount of random reboots.....I only got this phone today too .. HTC better fix this soon
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using XDA
The reboots may be caused by an app installed on the device. Try to uninstall recently installed apps. If you cannot start the phone because of reboots try entering safe mode by holding volume down on start up (after splash screen appears) then uninstall troublesome apps.
I never had any apps installed when my phone started rebooting, I just bought the phone then a hour later it started rebooting

Perhaps you should get it replaced, it shouldn't behave like that out of the box. If it's a hardware problem... Better safe than sorry, even if you have to wait for a new phone.
I've had my Nexus S for over 8.5 months now. (since February) I've always loved the phone and was glad that it received the recent jelly bean update.
However recently, my phone is just plain dying. Ever since last week, I've been experiencing frequent freezing when browsing or on instagram etc. It's happened 3 times in the past 5 days. Could it be an app or process that's causing this? I'm not sure.
Another problem I've been facing, (the most annoying of all) is my power button. Yesterday, the power button started to die. I click on the power button to put my phone in standby and bam, suddenly it doesn't work. I'm not sure if some dust could be stuck in there or something. Sometimes when I press it to put my phone on standby, it asks me to turn off my phone, as if I had done a long hold. Strange. The only way to fix the problem is by clicking the power button repeatedly (about 15 times) and then it works again for a while.
One more problem... My phone screen becomes completely useless in one small area of the screen. The only way to get rid the problem is to leave the screen alone for 10 seconds or click the power button on and off.
Now here's the deal. I don't know what to do. Should I send it in for repair and be 'phoneless' for a month? I have not tried a full wipe, and would rather not. I don't think it would change the problem. I need your opinion? Is anyone have the same issues as me?
I'm very stuck, and have no clue what to do.
Seriously...if you have hardware issues you should send it to warranty.
Try the wipe data first you should wipe it and format the "sdcard" anyway before send it to repair.
The power button in the Nexus is the small clicky type that have the tendency to go bad. For the app freezing issues, it maybe time to do a complete wipe and upgrade to 4.1.2. I'm running SlimBean and its extremely smooth.
Use warranty if you have it, or it might be time to upgrade to a newer Nexus.
Mine broke the power button would only work if I'd drop the phone I dropped it too many times and cracked the screen I'd love to get it fixed but im not sure how much Sammy would charge me

A broken screen is pretty expensive, but I think Samsung is pretty nice with warranty! I sent my Nexus S with water damage, (it was dried up, but it didn't boot anymore ) and it got repaired for free! I was in my warranty limit btw

How long did it take for your phone to be sent back? Like 2 weeks? Hopefully not any longer than that.
My nexus with was in repair for 10 days. They replaced my motherboard. Pretty fast.

Nowadays many users are complaining about hardware problem they noticed with our fit...I solved 4-5 queries but still everyday I see someone post about it...so thought i would make a thread here to let everyone know...
PROBLEM:
Power key not working/It reboots phone after just pressing/Its totally dead etc etc...
SOLUTION:
I had this problem 3 times and first time when I went to service centre i dropped my fit at their door only and whoilaaa!!!...It became normal...they told me that if we do the same i.e. hit the phone on power key it becomes fine...Well its just a kind of loose contact we can say...
So if you face such problem dont waste your money, time & energy in care center...just hit the phone gently (be cautious screen can break too ) on wall or hard surface and it will be fine...
Press thanks if this solved your problem...

Some more hardware problems:
1. The back panel is no good. Dropped the phone once, and the side hinges have forever remained broken to the extent that I can't use phone without a case.
2. Earpiece is too low, no matter the rom/kernel
3. Idk about others, but my Wifi modules are glitchy. Ever since I bought my phone, I've always faced wifi switch on>error.
On some roms, it gets solved by soft/hard rebooting, some roms it just doesn't work.
Logcat comes clean all the time.
4. I have a total of 4 dead/distorted pixels. Not noticable easily, but it still bothers a lot of time.
5. Frequent disconnection of 2g/3g.
Again, I think this is a defective radio module, aa I've changed my rom/kernel/baseband/network provider; but my network switches itself off on rather frequent intervals.
Sometimes solved by "Restart Connections", sometimes by a soft reboot.
That's it, I guess

Wifi Error for me when screen goes off and wifi On.
Frequent disconnection of Wifi!
USB Data Transfer Problems
Ever wondered why your pc/laptop is unable to recognize/detect your device inspite of properl drivers and different cables....
Ans:- Charging IC ...replace it( in my case it worked)..
So I was surfing some forums earlier this morning when my, 3 day old, Galaxy Note 10.1 screen went dark. Not a full black like when the screen is off, though I thought it was at first. But it wasn't completely off which I found out when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on. It turned it off. Anyways, when I turned it back on I was notified that the Wifi also went out. Maybe it had something to do with that?
I took it as a sign to go to sleep since I was staying up way too late playing with my new tablet. So I haven't messed with it since. I'll come back to post more in this thread if it happens again - especially if no one else seems to know what the problem is.
Anyone have any thoughts?
My screens does that too.. No big deal to me as long as its working..

And it's not like a screen dimming when the backlight turns off, seconds before the screen actually does turn off. Same experience for you?

Only happens in the stock browser for me. Maybe once a day.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Any one find a fix for this? It happens a few times a day for me. Hitting the power button twice gets me back but usually happens in the middle of taking notes in class so is annoying to take an extra few seconds to get it back up. Maybe a kernel thing?? I've tried resetting a few times with no luck
It's the sleep-of-death, which happens most often after an Android update. I had issues with it occurring regularly after updating to JB. I traced my problem down to an app that worked well under ICS but caused JB to crash. Once I removed the app, I stopped having issues (I'm on stock 4.1.2). If you're on a custom rom, check the forums to see if others are having the issue on that rom. Also, do Internet searches on the apps that you use most frequently to see if there are reports of any of them causing JB to crash. Good luck, it just takes detective work on your part so be patient.
random screen blank
I have had my Galaxy Note 10.1 since xmas. Lately it randomly goes blank. It happens during an application or game. I can click the on/off button to put it to sleep then wake it the regular way...
I have noticed it with games mostly, 250+Solitaire and Sudoku Premium. The screen goes blank, the backlight stays on and have to put to sleep to get screen back...
Mine does the same thing except I usually can't wake it back up. The screen stays black and I have to hold the power button down until it restarts. It's happened with the stock browser and Google play store while I was browsing.
It happens to me too (ics and jb) sometimes, does't matter what app is runing, but only if I'm using stylus. I don't mind it, just have to double press power button.
Sent from my GT-N8010
I still have it happen sometimes too. Never found a solution and I'm quite certain it even started happening before I had any extra apps installed.

I feel like you might be on to something with the stylus being out because I'm quite certain it only happens to me when I have mine out too. Something to keep an eye on.
