Ummm.. The front facing camera? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it supposed to or us it just mine but does it flip the picture left-right? What you see on the screen compared to what the saved picture is is opposite sides

That's normal in android. It's so it is like a mirror instead of what teh camera sees so it's easier to adjust an ugly face like you would in the mirror.

Lol. I thought it may have just screwed up as I've never actually tried it before

Nexus S FFC flash????

I was wondering if there is a app or someone can make the screen get bright right before you take a pic with the front camera kinda how there is a "flashlight" app for phones that dont have a led light and use the screen brightness just wondering if this would work for night time pics
searched around could not find anything on this at all so sorry if it was answered

i doubt it will work since it is facing you and not the real camera
Well what i was thinking is you take a pic of yourself with the front camera that the screen will get bright white kinda like a flash but just making it as bright white the screen can get for a second to see yourself better at night

I agree. That's very similar to my Mac desktop. The screen flashes right before it takes a self portrait. I bet an app can be created, but the issue might be auto focus. The front cam isn't all that great with auto focus so when the screen flash it might show a white blur.

On my nexus s it does not focus with the front camera justs takes the pic as is, is it suppose to autofocus? Im on nightly #31
Anyone know who we can talk to, to get something working?

Keyboard and other elements shadowing normal?

Hi,
My nexus s is new and since day 1 i just use it with 0 brightness.after hours of exploring, i noticed that when i open up the keyboard for more than 10secs and drag down the notification bar the keyboard boxes can still be clearly seen.its like a shadow of the keyboard imprinted in the notifiaction.noticed this in market as well when searching for apps the keyboard shadow can be clearly seen.also more than 5 sec static on your homescreen, after that i drag down i can clearly see the icons shadows in the grey notifocation bar. Is this normal? All of you have this behavior when on 0 brightness?or do i have a weak display?its kind of annoying sometimes.

Its sort of a burn image. The blues fade out and get a yellow haze. You can test this by displaying a blue image for example google image blue and zoom in. Auto brightness and sleeping the ohone when not using will keep the colors rich. I had a vibrant that did the same thing.

Sucks but it cant be fixed without replacing the phone/screen

Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Oh btw the shadowing does fade away like 5sec more or less tho its not like a permanent thing

Are you using voodoo colors?

Galaxy S4 camera apk port or alternatives...

Hello guys, is there anyone working on porting the galaxy s4 app for the Nexus 5?
I really love my Nexus 5, but the S4 camera app is way better! better pictures, better modes, I can take pictures while filming or I can press and hold the photo button and it takes 20 pictures in a few seconds... those are features that I miss in Nexus 5 camera app...
If there is any alternative, please comment below.. thanks!!!

Hi,
You can do that with the Nexus 5... At least with the stock camera app.

Can they even port the s4 camera onto the s4 aosp? Usually not.
Pretty sure you just press the screen when recording video to take a picture.
please don't post questions in general

Just touch, I mean tap, the screen while filming...
It's written on the screen the first time you launch the camera in video mode

I mean, take many pictures in a few seconds, like holding the photo button, it's good to take photos in moviment while doing sports...
sorry about the question in the wrong place
You listed 2 different features. We answered we have 1 of them.
Many camera apps on play store that can offer burst mode

Since I seem to be invisible in this thread, i'm leaving. My dastardly plan to phase myself out is almost complete!

Ok. But why put "or" in your sentence?
For me you speak about two different things, take pictures while filming AND long press on shutter button to take 20 pictures in on time...
But no worries.

Search and you will find: Moto X Camera, LG Camera Port, Modified "Stock" Camera. I've only tried the modified stock one, and like it a lot.

Only one of the "speakers" on the bottom of the Nexus 5 is actually a speaker and the other is a microphone. If the device is held correctly then it shouldn't be a problem no matter which hand it is held in..
I know but i found this problem last night no idea what should i do or try btw phone is fully stock rom

Well, there is absolutely no reason why "call quality" would go bad when held with a specific hand. The only reason it would ever happen is if something were to obstruct (or similar) the microphone.
Everything perfect cleaned so gues its hardware problem with microphone

The metal plate on the right side of her head interferes with the signal.
She should use her left hand. Problem solved.

There's a YouTube video available for that but it's going to require you to heat up the back in order to get the glue to loosen up so you can remove it.

Not the whole back, just the camera glass. I did find a video for it and was able to order the piece.

Did you make sure the glass was clear before putting it in? If it is then I think the camera itself got messed up. Or try removing the glass again and see if it's blurry without it too because then you'll really know if the camera is messed up.

It seems like it's clearing itself up. Strangely. As if it needed to refocus or something. Not as blurry now. I'll see how it is in the morning.
