IF the problem can't be solved by soft reset ,just flash your phone.

750V Battery not charging all of a sudden! Help!

I noticed yeterday that the battery icon on the title bar next to the clock on the top of the screen showed an exclamation (!) mark in it, when i tap on it, it says battery 0% full, if I go to the power setting, it shows battery type : li-ion, capacity : unknown. Also when I plug in the charger, the icon stays the same, it doesn't show charging, in the properties it doesn't show charging either and the status light does not light up amber as it always did when charging!!
Help, Please.....
I never had a problem with this unit at all, never had to reset it even, now after 10 soft resets and countless hard resets this problem persists. I am in Canada and don't have anyway of getting support, as this is a vodafone unlocked unit....
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Dan
Sounds like a bad battery to me, nothing else would make sense, especially since you tried a hard reset. Contact Palm, whether you bought it frm them or not I would think its still under warranty from them
Dan,
Somewhere on another thread someone mentioned that their phone gradually charged if plugged in on the USB sync cable (the standard one, not a combined sync / charge cable from the 650 / LifeDrive).
Might be worth a go until you can get a new battery...
Angus
I hope the battery is really the case, although I would find it hard to beleive, at this time anything is possible.

Motorola XT 720 Start up problems

Why won't my XT720 start up?
When it is connected to my charger, the four action keys light up. Despite leaving it to charge overnight, it appears that the battery isn't charging. The phone won't start while it is charging, neither when connected to the mains or to my car power supply.
I bought a new battery without any improvement.
When I access the bootloader screen it says there is too little power in the battery to program the phone.
The phone is not recognised by my computer when connected.
The phone is running Froyo 2.2. with Dexter rom.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions......apart from binning the phone!
Thanks!
I think the phone likes to selfboot with too little charge. See if you can shut it down cleanly so it won't autoboot. It's annoying but you may have to watch it very carefully to catch it when it's trying to boot because it will drain itself back to death very quickly.

Hi Oakham, do you have any update to your case? I have the same problem now.
Yesterday, I noticed the battery bar went down to orange region (about 30%?). I plugged it to the wall for about an hour (the charging symbol showed up). Later I found out that the battery bar did not move (still stuck at orange region). Later the night, I tried to charge again (the bar was red at about 15% or less). The charging symbol showed up. Later I checked, the battery bar did not improve but declined. The phone eventually went out of battery and turned itself off.
I tried to continue to charge using both the wall outlet and PC USB. No luck. I could not even power up the phone now. Did you manage to resolve your case? Anyone got the same problem and found the solution?
I thought about buying a new battery to try, but then I saw your post, so I hesitated.
Thanks.

I've had this problem. Watching the phone closely while charging and pulling the battery whenever it starts to boot works. After about the fourth time doing this I got a battery charger from amazon for ~$5 because it's gently loving annoying.

Thanks for your advice.
So when you first bumped into this problem, how did you get it back to boot up?
I followed your advice to watch it while it's charging. When I saw the motorola logo showed up, I pulled the battery. Then I plugged it back and let it charged for some more time. Then I tried to power up the phone. The motorola logo came on and then the big battery symbol came on saying it's 100% full (but i knew it's not). Later, those 4 soft touch button lid on. This cycle repeated. And I'm clueless.
Please let me know the steps you took to recover your phone.
Thanks.

Once you get into the system use 'power off' from the menu. It won't autoboot then and you can leave it in the wall overnight. I think. A voodoo doll may work, too. It can be really frustrating, but I've been able to get out of it every time so far. Like I said, I got sick of this game and found a battery charger for pretty cheap.

Try deleting batterystats.bin and doing what M said.. can you get to open recovery and charge from there?
I also had the 'M' logo screen, stuck on-screen when the charger was connected. There is a post which suggests, for this, 'Pull battery.2) Insert battery and hit power button;3) As soon as you hit the power button, hold the volume up button down until the unboxing logo comes up.'
As my phone is still under warranty, I sent it back to see if there is a physical problem. I'll try the above suggested solution when my phone comes back from 'Motorola', whether or not it is repaired by them! I've also bought a battery charger for the phone's BP6X battery from e-Bay (£9.50, including another battery.)At least I will then know that a battery is fully charged before I try fixes.
Thanks for the other posts/replies!

In my experience OR drains faster than it can charge.
Sent from my XT720 using XDA Premium App
Damn!
I had about the same. Battery got drained down from 80% to 5%. Then the screen for "please plug in for charging" appeared. Some moments later the phone went dark and now I can't get it to work again. It doesn't react on the power button. Even when plugged in the charging-symbol doesn't appear. I can't turn it on. Sucks!
Any ideas?
My phone has been repaired by Motorola, under warranty, and returned after four days. Accompanying report is brief: 'Software update and screening'. Seems to be working fine.......just like a brand new phone!
This morning i find myself in the same situation. My phone have the soft keys iluminated but it didint work.OMG... what happend durring the night. So i tried to boot the phone but nothing happend, and after reading tje post on the problem i have tried to remove the battery and put`it back, tryed anothe reboot, and holdind the buttons power+vol up. Nothing worked. But when i have tried the combination power + vol up + cammera shutter and plugged the cable. at first nothing happend. but after i have relesed the buttons the logo apeared and started charging. after that i powerd on my phone normaly
My phone does that everytime it charging and I remove the plug when it's in sleep mode. I have to remove the battery and it's power on normally.

[Q] G2x stuck after battery died.

I was using CM7 build #19, my phone said it had 53 percent batter life left but suddenly died (i assume broken battery driver). My phone wont charge the battery now so i can't to a restore from my backup, and all my phone shoes is the empty battery symbol when plugged in, its been plugged in for over an hour and still shows this. Any ideas how to fix this?
Did you try pulling the battery out then putting it back in? When the phone experiences the "sleep of death" it wont turn on or charge until you pull the battery.

Yep i have tried it many times, if i take the battery in, hold the power and volume down button then plug the phone it, it will show the lg logo for a second then turn off again. I only saw the low battery symbol once too

sweet that did end up fixing it, i had to take the battery in it, hold the two buttons and plug the phone in, once the lg flashed on the screen i had to put the battery in it then and then it worked!
Many thanks! I encountered the same problem while my battery was at 90%. I too was on a CM7 nightly, not sure if it as 19 or not. The phone died for no apparent reason and would not boot back up. I just got the dead battery symbol when I held down the power button. Simply removing the battery and putting it back in did not help either. I had to follow these steps to make it work, which I derived from the suggestions above:
1. Unplug phone from charger
2. Remove battery
3. Insert charger
4. Hold down both the Power+Vol Down buttons
5. Boot into Clockwork
6. Insert Battery, while still plugged in
7. Perform a restart from Clockwork
It booted up fine after this point, and showed that I had 90% battery still. Several other combinations of these steps did not work for me.

[Q] device stuck in chargeing mode

yesterday i charge my sensation xe in my car with my car charger that i use for about a year without any problems and i got a message that said something about the adapter in not for this device and can damage it...i unpluged it since then the device think he is charging..
the led always light up even if the device is shutdown and the battery indicator on the status bar show it's charging...
tried hard reset still nothing...
pulled the battery and when i put it back on the led come back again...
what to do???

Phone won't turn ON or Charge.

Hey there , i came to you because i think my phone done a short circuit, it was ON and pluged in an inactive USB port on my PC which i've plugged internaly just after.
Then i noticed that the low battery LED on the OnePlus doesn't blink anymore. First of all i thought about a complete discharge. But no charging LED. I've plugged the phone on the power adapter : No LED. This is when i started to freak out.
I've took appart the phone, removed the battery, mesured the voltage : 3.77 Volts. The battery is normaly 4.35 Volts.
Is it a big gap even if there is always a tolerance ?
Is my battery is dead ? Or something shorten the motherboard ?
I don't want to buy a new battery if this won't solve the issue, and i have no schematics to do a continious testing with my multimeter on the motherboard..
Any help is welcommed. Thanks.
I think you were too quick to take phone apart, you should have been keep the phone connected to charger for atleast 6 hours before taking it apart ..

Connect your OPO to Wall Charger, Charge it for about 10min or so. Press n Hold Power Button for at least 1min.
If nothing fancy happened to your phone than it should boot from dead. If not than think further.
BTW When you connect it to your pc, how's your pc recognize your device as?
Any QHSUSB_BULK 9006 Or 9008 error? If not than Its not Bricked yet. Just try to charge for 10min and check.

Do you have OnePlus drivers installed? Or Have you installed them previously?
There's no way Phone could go dead without any prior sign. I mean there must have been something happened to it before it gone dead brick!
What was last state when you saw it working beforeot went blank?

Of course my drivers are installed.... but the phone don't do anything when plugged, no charging LED, no reaction when i push the power button
Before he goes "dead" he has low battery.

Charging LED will only lit up while device is ON. If device was completely functional before it died, than I'm assuming it as Battery issues.
Did it ever got warm or hot near battery area? Since you've already took it apart to check voltages,so you know it better which area I'm talking about.
Most likely it could be Battery. If not anything major.

Okay so i got the phone to boot up. plugged it into usb : Phone don't got recognized. battery charging logo in status bar
Plugged to power adapter : Battery charging logo on status bar.
I noticed that the charge is incredibly slow. then i goes in parameters -> battery to check battery mode and stuff.
underneth the graph it says : 2% Not charging. But i got the logo on the status bar... ?
So here is a recap of the issues i got : Battery not charging, and discharging fast.
Not recognized by USB
No rear faced camera and flashlight.

If your device booted up, Can you post some screenshots of it? I just need to see whether a Port got damaged or something else.

hi, how did you get it to boot up? are you running the device directly from USB power? or is it running on battery?
Hold volume up, nothing else and connect it to your PC. After that check device manager and find "QHSUSB_Bulk. If you can find that one, send me a PM.
