Not charging anymore

Hi all,
My HTC Polaris is not charging anymore. I was running TomTom yesterday in my car with the 12V connected. Suddenly it said low battery and the phone was powered off. I tried reconnecting the powercable, but the leds stayed off.
Back at home i tried the normal charged and the USB charger, both without effect. Somehow my phone goes to the Red/Blue/Green etc screen when connected to the PC.
I tried updating the rom, but it is stuck at 100% and after taking the battery out and putting it back in it is still dead.
Any ideas what happened and how to fix it?
It *could* be a dead battery, you get the same symptoms if you take the battery out, the charger on its own won't power the phone.
If it was me I would somehow wangle to try a mate's battery or from a phone shop (O2 if you're in the U.K.)

[Q] Reboots while charging??

Hi guys,
At first it was the sound issue. But today I got totally pissed off while charging my Sensation. Battery was very low when I started charging it with the original wall charger and cable. After a while I decided to check how's the charging going and when I pressed the unlock button the phone rebooted itself and wasn't able to load Android at all. Black screen, Led flashing orange, no response from power button or screen. Then I removed the battery and powered it up. No problem.
Plugged it in again on the charger and went to Battery in About section.
Status: Charging. I unplugged the cable for 5 seconds, then plugged it in again and guess what i saw in status: Discharging !!!! While plugged !!! WTF!!??
Also forgot to mention that the phone get's very hot while charging.
Had two more reboots after this.....random...
I sent it for repair....I hope they give me a new set, because there's no exchange policy here in Bulgaria.
Anyone having issues with charging?
Mine does not reboot at all but I know what you're talking about when it will show "Discharging" after unplugging and replugging charger. No worries, just bugs in Sense. Go into Android's battery info and it will update itself to "Charging" status. Easy fix with OTA, I think. Does suck though that HTC would send out phones with so many bugs.

[Q] Help!! [Solved]

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have an Idea what fast blinking amber light means on DS?
My battery was low around 2% and I connected it to the stock charger and started watching a movie, after 10 mins or so my phone switched off and amber colored light started to flash, I am not able to switch it on now and after 30 mins or so even the blinking light went off.
Had Aplha CM10 ROM flashed and was working normally till now keeping my fingers crossed that it is not bricked. Please tell me it is not:crying:
EDIT:
Solved: Finally revived my phone by directly charging the battery from the USB port of my laptop. Seems the battery went too flat to charge itself in the phone.

Did it start charging when you connected the charger? when the desire S has no battery at all, and you connect the power, the light blinks, meaning that it hasn't got enough power to boot
So just make sure the charger works and leave it charging for a couple of minutes untill you get the classic charging LED on, and then try to boot again

Thanks TataoValverde, so I guess it is not bricked. I had left the phone connected to the charger overnight but still it doesn't boot so it means it is not charging. Now nothing happens not even blinking light
So is there anyway i can revive it??
Make sure the battery is making connection - use a piece of paper to hold it firmly in place if necessary.
Try a different charger - any USB one should be fine.
Or buy a new battery as its much cheaper than a new phone.
If the charging circuitry on the phone is screwed then there is nothing you can really do unless you fancy changing the main board.

[Q] Phone won't charge after replacing screen

After replacing a broken screen(the phone was working fine after the screen was broken), I can't get the phone to charge. The phone doesn't work with a cm7 ROM either, after booting it shows android system at the top with a black screen and the notification bar then shuts off. Froyo ROMs work fine but won't charge and the usb connection to computer still works. In about it will show not charging wen it's not plugged in and discharging when it is plugged into ac or usb. With the phone off when I plug it in it shows the red led at the top like its charging for say 5 seconds then it shows a battery with a temp gauge in the middle of it and everything goes black again. I've tried opening it back up and reseating the cables but same thing, also tried two batteries both of which were working fine before replacing the screen, one was the stock battery.
Any ideas?

Z3 Death discharge problem

Welcome, i've readed alot of topics on the internet about problems similar to this, but nothing fixed my problem. I've tried connecting to wall/pc charger, power button + volume down/up combinations, really all the thing.
Couple days ago after my phone fully discharged ( I rarely had situation like this, I usually charge when my phone have 10-15%, but this day I couldn't. ) I came back home and tried to charge my phone, red light was ON but it still didn't charge after alot of hours. I then tried to fix it, turning on phone etc. but screen was always black and phone didn't want to charge. At first when I tried to boot the Z3 red light was blinking, but after some time it stopped. I ordered new battery, replaced it carefully (though it's battery problem) - then when I connected the new battery for the first time I though I have fixed the problem, battery charging icon showed up for a moment on screen, I was very happy. Then I disconnected charger so I could assemble my phone. Now when I try to charge my phone problem is this same.. like with old battery - Just red light, not turning ON, not blinking. Powering up Key combinations with volume don't fix it. My PC Companion don't see phone. I disassembled my phone again, disconnected battery and connected it - It didn't showed any battery icon again, so why it did when I connected it for the first time? and why when my phone died for the first time red light was blinking, now it doesn't? I want to add that I never dropped my phone or used it in water - never, thats why I was almost sure maybe just battery died after it discharged.
Btw. Important thing is that USB port isn't broken, red light is always ON when I plug USB charger, but when I try to use my magnetic charger, phone never respond - no light. I also tried different cables, chargers etc. Could it really be something with the mainboard?
What could've happen? Why my phone went dead after fully discharged it ? Why battery replacement doesn't fix the problem? I don't get it, is mainboard damaged or something? Can I still try something? Maybe anyone can help me.
Please :/ I cannot afford a new phone right now, really want to try fix it, maybe somehow connecting USB cable straight without usb port can fix it? I heared people do something like this.
