I just saw a boot service update for our moto g, is is safe to update after removing the warning message after unlocking boot loader?
Sent from my XT1032
Yes, it only updates the boot animation, boot logo is not affected.
Nuthin' but a 'Moto G' thang
Yes it should be safe.
All it seems to do is add a christmas bootup animation, that will start to appear from December 9th,

Dunno if it changes anything else but that's what seems to be the main feature
Can someone please pull the apk for me? I need the actual .apk file and all I keep finding are links to the play store.

You can update the boot services, it has nothing to do with bootloader. Its just changing the bootanimation.
error in downloading moto mobility apps.

I rooted my moto g today and was updating all my apps. all my apps update without any problems, except motorola mobility(used in moto assist) and motorola boot service, though moto assist and other moto apps like camera and gallery updated without any problem.
is it problem related to unlocking bootloader or rooting the device?
i unlocked bootloader today and also rooted right after it. i am using moto g xt1033.

Seems like there are a few cases, myself included, of unlock codes supplied by Motorola not being able to unlock the device on the Motorola forums. My phone is eligible for an unlock code and I am able to get one from Motorola but when I enter in "fastboot oem unlock #######" it comes up as invalid password. I've tried copy it from the email into notepad and entering it manually but it doesn't work. Not sure if this is relevant but I have already done a carrier unlock on the phone which was originally on Telus. Just wondering if anyone has had success lately?
Indian moto g bootloader.!
i unlocked my XT1033 just few days ago....
the process in the cmd (while unlocking) showed "FAILED"..
but still my phone was continuously showing a blue coloured "unlock...."written on the screen so i press the power button and the device suddenly displayed bootloater unlocked warning and i also got superuser access afterwards......
but now i am able to run "root only" apps....
HOWEVER gamecih doesn't work..it just displays "the system deny to root!!"..

DON"T know what really HAPPENED!??
I unlocked the bootloader of my Moto G XT1033 just a few days back. The code worked perfectly.
Keep trying the code manually; never cut and paste.
I tried again a few time this morning on a different computer, still no luck. It is very frustrating.
Could someone who has successfully unlocked their TX1032 on 4.4.4 please post their "fastboot getvar all" output?

I can't even get an unlock code. Hitting submit gives me a HTTP 500 Internal error on IE, and just blank screens on Firefox and Chrome.
XT1034
Look for a post asking you to join the MFN (feedback network). There is a solution being seeded there.

Hi! Too can not unlock the bootloader on your Moto G XT1033. When you unlock the inscription went incorrect password. Many say the problem with the server Motorola. Surely in such a serious company can not solve this problem? Maybe someone knows when they will earn the server?
A quote from one of the moderators on the Motorola forums:
"For a fix for the Password incorrect issue encountered on 4.4.4 Moto G, please join the Motorola Feedback Network. (Last post of this thread) and let Matt know to add you to the seeding for the updated bootloader. This is unfortunately not a server side issue, but a bug in the bootloader on G 4.4.4. (not present in 4.4.2 or previous release)."
You will have to register your device there and opt in for the Motorola Feedback Network. You must also register your device by entering your IMEI. I think with all of the recent price drops on the Moto G they are really backed up. I am currently still waiting for my new unlock code.
The problem will be resolved because the mod there helped me to unlock mine but I can't disclose more. Just be patient

I believe that the fix is only in the testing phase and rather then release it into the wild and potentially have a ton of bricked phones come back they choose to release to a few people who agreed to the risks. That being said I now have an unlocked bootloader and am running the stripped down version on the stock 4.4.4 rom with Faux kernel and it is so much better. Check on post in the General section for more info.
New recovery for android 4.4.4 which solves black screen issue
This is just to inform all those who got their phones with 4.4.4 pre-installed and were suffering from black screen when booted into recovery.
A new version of Philz recovery is released by its maintainer for moto G , which is compatible with the newest bootloader or baseband ( whatever )
Just go to Phil'z recovery and download the latest version ( only 6.57.5 or above )

Thankyou so much for this!! I've been pulling my hair out wondering why I was getting the black screens!
Thanks.
The title says it all.
Because I Couldn't find the Boot services in play store after i unlocked my bootloader and flashed a recovery.
I can find it (and update it) through play store. But it isn't changing the boot logo and boot animation anymore after I unlocked the bootloader...

This is not related I believe.
I have my G unlocked since day one, which is about 11 months now. I've boot services updated several times, but at some point I think I've stopped seeing it in the play store, then it became available again.
Hmm...I haven't seen the boot services since quite some time now, and I hear Moto changed the bootanim once again, so I was interested in knowing why that happens.
Thanks!
boot update gone
I just accidently uninstalled the updates of Motorola boot services and nw I'm not getting any updates of boot anime's
Still I have "Motorola a google company" even after updating to lolipop
I have an unlocked bootloader Boost Moto G that I used on page plus for sometime
It recently updated to Lollipop and I did a factory reset to clean it off to use as a WiFi only device. Now I am stuck in the activation process. Any way around this? Thanks!

Hello,
For flashing stock firmware manually on Motorola devices, you need an unlocked bootloader.

Hello,
Sorry, there's no such way. You may try to contact your service provider for the same.

Just see this thread, -

Another user had the same problem. The only difference in your case would be your firmware (XT abcd 1/2gb) and no. of sparsechunk files present (must flash them all).
