moto g 2015 boot loop - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys just wondering if anyone knows how to get a moto g 2015 (16gb) out of bootloader as it is stuck ? the bootloader is locked and i cant get it unlocked due to oem unlock turned off in settings. the phone will not boot up. This happened during a failed attempt of root (big mistake). Would be a big help if anyone knows.

Just reflash firmware images

What root method were you attempting? Kingroot?

Yes i was using kingroot without an unlocked bootloader. Idiotic really. Do you have any solutions ?

Just see this thread, -

Another user had the same problem. The only difference in your case would be your firmware (XT abcd 1/2gb) and no. of sparsechunk files present (must flash them all).

HELP My Razr is bricked (?), can I unlock the bootloader and unbrick it?

Hello, I'm kind of a noob on these things but here we go:
My Razr is stuck on the red Motorola logo (the boot animation when you turn on the phone) I believe this is what you call "bricked" (?).
I found out some methods here about downloading an XML file and replacing it but where can I find this file? And where do I need to replace it, it is on the firmware file, right? I wanted to get a USA firmware because in my country (Mexico) the KitKat update hasn't been liberated for us and I want to be able to update it.
A friend told me that if I put a firmware from USA it would ask me to update but to do this I need to unlock the bootloader.
I saw a tutorial on unlocking it with Motopocalypse but to do this I need to put the phone on Debugging Mode and I can't do that since my phone is bricked.
Is there a way to unbrick my phone and being able to install KitKat?
If not, of course my priority is to just unbrick it asap regardless if it is with KitKat or JB :/
Thank you so much in advance.
First, you need to tell us exactly what you did that "bricked" it. And I say "bricked" because if you can get to the Motorola logo, it probably isn't really bricked.
Either way, your friend's advice sounds like a bad idea to me. The US firmware is meant for the xt926, which uses Verizon's network. You should either wait for firmware to be released in your region or use a custom ROM (something you can do if you end up unlocking the bootloader).
Do the same: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57063750 doesn't care if your device is "bricked"

When I turn it on it is stuck on the red Motorola logo, it goes like that for hours until battery is dead.
I can go into the bootloader options (when you press vol +/- and power) and I have tried wiping all the data to factory settings but the result is the same.
Sorry if I'm using the wrong terminology.

Can I do that even if I have never unlocked my bootloader?
Update:
I tried flashing with my carrier firmware and deleting the proper lines on the .xml file, then opened with RSD but it shows:
"Failed flashing process 14/21 flash boot "boot_signed" -> Phone returned FAIL"
And on the Fastboot manu on the phone it shows:
"Partition (boot) Security Version Downgraded"
"preflash validation failed for boot"
Please help me

If you never upgraded to KK you don't need to have unlocked bootloader, but why don't you unlock your bootloader? I see only benefits with.

Is not that I don't want to, it is that I can't. I'm having trouble flashing the firmware.
Just follow the tutorial http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/71673-instalar-un-firmware-por-fastboot-en-imágenes/ and use Claro Puerto Rico firmware, then take the OTA

I did but it got stuck on the "boot_signed" step (RSD lite), deleting that line on the XML file and then it showed the "system_signed" step error, deleted that line on the XML and it apparently flashed successfully but the phone is back to where it was before, stuck on the red Motorola logo boot animation.

How to root the Moto G? (Also, can't unlock bootloader!)

So I'm having questions and issues with my Moto G. (XT1032)
1. Is there any way to root the Moto G without unlocking the bootloader? I'm having issues unlocking it (next issue).
2. I can't seem to unlock the bootloader on the Moto G. I'm trying to install CyanogenMod but when I go to unlock it on the Motorola website and put the unlock code from adb/fastboot, it says My phone's bootloader can't be unlocked!
So if you have any idea how to help me, please reply.
EDIT: Don't recommend me to flash a recovery like TWRP or ClockWork Mod Recovery. I need to unlock the bootloader. (I think)
Make 100% sure are putting the code in to the website with NO spaces.
I'm not aware of a way to root without unlocking.
Thanks so much!
Yeah depends what version of moto g you have as Motorola won't unlock certain ones... And seems like yours is one that can't be
Actually, it was a weird thing with the unlock code from fast boot having random spaces when I paste it into the checker, but now my Moto G is running CM12.1 with Root! Thanks a lot everyone!

TWRP is done. Rooting made me into bootloop. I ran into issues when trying to flash back stock(I flashed the wrong firmware). Could anyone upload the NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn alone?

It is very simple.Just have to get the code from Motorola.I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and Installed TWRP recovery too.Has anyone tried flashing SuperSu on G4 plus.

Does anyone know Motorola's official position on whether unlocking the bootloader also voids the warranty?

Not in every country though, in my case when I had hardbricked my 1st Gen Moto G I was given a replacement despite me unlocking the bootloader

Probably a replacement is decided on a case by case, so don't always depend on it. Also, this topic is from July...

Well it was because they had a faulty OTA 4.4.4 that when you upgraded from 4.4.2 it would hardbrick devices that unlocked their bootloader. Though I never told them that, just said that it just turned off during charging and after that it wouldn't turn on.

Actually they could easily if they wanted to even if my phone was dead, since when you request unlock code from Moto they void your warranty even if you didn't use it to unlock the bootloader which means that the service centre might be able to check if I requested an unlock code(some sort of database maybe? Idk) but they didn't so yeah pretty lucky.

i was flashing moto xt926 via utility pc method
but during flashing now its not working fine im searching many ideas from google but no one has solution
plz help me any way to bring it ok??
Seems like your bootloader is locked and you are either trying to downgrade of flash a custom image. You will need to unlock your bootloader first.

Trying to relock the bootloader

I failed rooting my moto g device so i want to relock the bootloader. Or is it ok to leave it unlocked?
I tried many ways but i didn't make it. Can you help me?
Best regards,
Vlasis
Leave it unlocked. There is no advantage over a locked bootloader after you already unlocked it.
Yeap leave it unlocked and to the sad point is till date no latest firmware has been released by motorola ...and the firmware available in forum is older and u might have updated the April security patch as well so u have to wait cz if u try to relock the booloader again it will give u preflash validation error .... So in short leave it unlocked:angel:

How did you fail rooting? It is actually quite easy and safe with the MOTO G3
