I don't have any apps that don't work on ART. 4.4.1 did improve it.

Use this. Extract and install apks.
Have to use moto home screen but worth it for the real circles widget.

Yea def don't want the RAZR M one... The new one is way better. Anyone figure out how to get it installed?
Thank s for sharing
But Is there some ways to use this without Flashing this into my device?
I recalled that there used to have apk version for this during the 4.1 period, you just need to install 4apk, and root the phone, then it is all done.

I was finally able to get it working on my Verizon Moto X. I installed SafeStrap that hashcode released, as discussed in the general section, then just flashed the zip via safestrap recovery and it works perfect
so whatever you do, don't flash this to a slot that is running a backup of stock. Bootloops so restoring yet again......
in safestrap that is

Jelly Bean 4.2 camera & Gallery apk

Here's the standard camera app from jb , comes with photosphere which works with our phone.
Must be flashed in recovery and you will still have your moto camera app.
The advantage to using this is there's a actually shutter button on the screen which allows you take pic much quicker
http://d-h.st/tvW
Also allows you to take photos while recording video

You have to have a rooted device? The apk was also made available on Droid Life but I'm pretty sure they said that it replaces your camera and gallery app

I don't think it can replace your original camera app... at leat not just like that, because it's a system app. I'm pretty sure you can have one copyrunning from system and another one along with the rest.
No I believe it does nor do most flashable zips

Didn't notice that was a flashable zip. Just installing the apk (link in the other thread) works just fine. Just tried it myself. You do get 2 gallery icons, though, since you have it installed twice (one in each partition).
Yah one is the moto gallery the other S4 gallery

Yup. Still cool, although I guess I'll see if I can change the apk's name or icon... you know, just so I can tell one from the other.

Well, for anything other than Photosphere, I'm still more leaned to use Moto's camera app, you know? I like the slow motion vid, the layout... and I'm not even sure if I'm getting 10.5mpx with the stock Android camera app... which doesn't matter for Photospheres, but for everything else, I'd rather keep .
Moto camera definately comes with more options, for those who want the money shot in slo mo , moto camera it is

i know there are many similar apps are available but what goes in giving this new one a try as well .. being an Android device user you are most prone to have equal theme stuffs

You need root I believe, there's libs that are required for photosphere. Never had an android device that wasn't rooted within a day if purchasing it

I know there were libs for the 4.2 camera which was a pain, but wasn't the 4.3 GPE one just install and go? At least with some devices...

I have no idea, but almost positive there's probably and apk for 4.3 camera that installs in an unrooted device. Let me check my other 2 phones that are running jb 4.3
Its a system app so it won't install
Found this and it seems to install as a standard apk

I installed it and took it off. Don't need root. Searched it on the boards. It doesn't use the full wide-screen but everything else seemed to work

[Q] N5 won't change to ART...

So it's been a little bit of time, and I'm curious to try out the new runtime. Problem is, every time I try to make the switch, all it does is reboot. I don't get the 5-10 build time, and I'm still running dalvik. Stock ROM, Franco r16 test kernel, rooted, unlocked boot loader, etc. Any ideas what could be preventing me from making the change? Or a method to find out for myself?
TIA

Thank you! Removing Xposed framework allowed me to convert.

[Q] Do you have to install a ROM to get xposed?

Do I need to get a ROM with xposed on it or can I install it myself without one? This is my first nexus device so I'm new to this territory! Sorry for the newbie question
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Xposed isn't nexus specific so the same rules apply to any Android device.
The point of Xposed is to be able to apply custom features without having to change rom or edit your existing rom, so nope - you can use whatever rom is there now
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Your device does, however, have to be rooted.

Okay thank you - so don't HAVE to have a ROM right? I am on Vomers stock ATM so in theory I can just flash xposed on and done?
Just confusing because all the other phones I've had its just always been a part of the Roms I've used and I don't see one in the nexus specific Roms!

Xposed is an apk that you install. Then from there, you install frameworks. I've never seen it included in any rom.

It's included in a few ROMs which are just small modifications of the stock ROM lol.. And they usually come with GravityBox which is kind of pointless and you might as well use a full AOSP/CAF custom ROM.

Ah the sorts of ROMs I stay away from then
To be honest, if you're including it with a ROM, it means you either cannot be bothered to or do not have the skill to add teh functions to a rom, in either case - perhaps you shouldn't release a "rom" hahah

Optimizing apps... faster in 4.4.2+? finally multithreaded?

I noticed since flashing to 4.4.2 the optimizing apps dialog has been a lot faster than before. What's up? Why?
If you mean 4.4.3 it's because it only optimises those that need it,, unlike previously when it did all
