Hello, I just bought a Sony Xperia L c2105 and after a couple of days i got the 4.2 update message. I updated the firmware via pc companion and the phone kept on rebooting. Ive read online about this issue and learned that many have had this on their phones and the solution for me was to flash an older firmware. I did that and now the wifi and bluetooth are not working. I flashed different 4.1.2 firmwares (15.0.A.2.17 or 15.0.A.1.36) but the wifi and bluetooth still doesn't work.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you aren't rooted/unlocked your bootloader then take it to your nearest Sony service center an get it repaired/updated

Do you remember the exact build that your phone had when you first bought it? Is the phone locked to a specific carrier?

I have the same problem, on version 4.2.2 everytime i turned my wifi on it keept rebooting. So i reverted back to 4.1.2 .
It seems that the problem is in firmware. Maybe the new update will solve this problem

Well it's not firmware, it's you. Because I'm on 4.2.2 and nothing happens to me like to you.
Have you all make factory data after update ?

Some phones do have issues with new firmware, that is a fact that can be verified. Just search the net. And to bash on someone just because YOU don't have an issue makes you, well an less educated individual !
Ever heard of "statistics" ? Look it up and drop the attitude.

Hi I am having problems trying to update my Xperia L I am on Build Number 15.0.A.1.31 so as you can see i was unable to receive the update of build number 15.0.A.1.36 or 15.0.A.2.17 I have tried updating Over The Air but the phone says I already Have latest updates installed also tried using PC Companion but that also says the phone has no new updates. I am in the UK and haven't received any updates from the day I took it out the box. The bootloader IS NOT UNLOCKED and the phone IS NOT ROOTED. Can anyone explain why I am having these problems and give me a solution to update my xperia?
probably the updates are not available. check the drivers.
solution is to flash any .17.ftf file via flashtool, i think it even works without unlock/root (heard of it... just try) or unlock and root if you cant wait

My PC companion was telling me the same but SEUS did the update...
Hope to work for you too...
Are you a Generic UK ? Phone bought outside the network ?
I have same story here, I bought generic phone free of sim-lock and other sh*t stuff from network provider and I haven't received any updates too.
But you can always change the customization number to CE 3/4/5 and then PCC will find update. I have done that and phone works perfectly well on 2.17 update.
I have a question ,if i flash the leatest .17 firmware using flashtool i lose the warranty? My phone is not from any service,it is bought from a shop.
as far as i know you don't.
The .ftf file is created from sonys official rom and so contains no malware at all. Sony would only control if you unlocked bootloader as you can only do damage to your phone by unlocking bl (like through overclocking) but i wouldnt give you guarantee about that...

Thanks everyone for your help. i have tried SUS but same problem. Yes i bought the phone off virgin mobile online however got it sim lock free and it is a generic UK. Can you please tell me how to change the customization number? I don't really want to root as I only got the Phone last week as mucked up my last htc by doing so. If the only safe way is to wait then i will do. Thanks everyone once again :good:
Why you don't flash the last firmware using flashtool?

To change the customization number you need to root. But don't worry it isn't but. You won't bootlooped your phone. When you rooted you have to do PART A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2355982 and after you done it just use apk called "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper" and deteled the root. Because phone won't update because of root. But if you really afraid of root flash a FTF without thick "wipe data" and the system will change and all your stuff will stay.

and it will be very laggy till you deactivate the bloatwareapps

So basically he will have to root no matter what he will do. I think changing customization number would be easier. But that is my opinion.

I have 2 Tab2's here and they are both bought in the same shop. one is fine, the other doesn't see there is an update. It's on 4.0.3 and when wanting to update it just says it's fully updated.
Now before trying to update with KIES i just wanted to know what is wrong. So wondering if this was a known problem and there was a fix or not.
Regards,
Me

Both are not rooted.
Updating is not a problem, it's just that the tablet which is stuck at 4.0.3 seems to have other troubles. With email for example. So i was thinking, maybe there is a known prroblem with certain tab2's

Thanks for your answer, but still not work.
I guess maybe the fireware problem, when the os was 15.3.A.0.26,there's no this issue with it.

I'm in India and the one I have is the .14 firmware and I am yet to find any bugs whatsoever. There was this time when I took around 200 or so pix and the camera app crashed but it was fine after starting the app again
Try flashing the ftf again? Maybe it would solve the issue.

Anytime mate just hit the thanks if it works
GOOD QUESTION. Since the xperia M got a 4.3 update, we MIGHT get an update too though nothing concrete can be said.
Unofficial builds of cm11 are available though the bugs haven't been resolved which where in the asop to a large extent
@uberlaggydarwin is currently working on a cm11 build though its WAY past the 31st december deadline.. I'll try to start developement for this device after my exams get over.
#root is also working on an omni rom port.. it can be said that by april we should have atleast a stable 4.4 custom build, if not an official update

Good!
My phone hasn't got any updates so far. I bought this Xperia C in March this year and the original version of firmware is 16.0.B.0.21. I have seen recently lots of updates for Xperia C firmware which have been expected to solve software issues in the phone but my phone is still stuck (the newest one is now 2.13). My mates in Vietnam received updates months ago. What's wrong with my phone? Anyone got the same problem? Thank you all very much for your supports.

Hi Guys,
Please kindly help where you can,
I'm using an Xperia Z ultra (C6833) , since I have updated it from kit kat 4.4.4 to lollipop 5.1.1 in December 2015 the screen has been flickering so badly. I tried switching off the adaptive brightness option as read through other forums and xdaforum but nothing helps. I've sent multiple emails to Sony thinking they would assist but all I got was to be referred to an authorised Sony repair centre. The phone works fine fewer times but most times it gives me headaches with flickering.
I tried downgrading twice using flashtool and ftf stock rom file but it was soft bricked, it bootloops forever. I had to repair using Sony companion suite 2.1 to get it working again but the problem persists.
I have tried all possible ways to fix the problem but I
The question I have...
1. I want to downgrade to kit kat 4.4.4 from lollipop 5.1.1 without rooting or unlocking bootloader, is that possible?
Please kindly HELP,
flickering
