I have 2 Tab2's here and they are both bought in the same shop. one is fine, the other doesn't see there is an update. It's on 4.0.3 and when wanting to update it just says it's fully updated.
Now before trying to update with KIES i just wanted to know what is wrong. So wondering if this was a known problem and there was a fix or not.

have you rooted that one which is not updating
you can update ut via odin just download the required file

Both are not rooted.
Updating is not a problem, it's just that the tablet which is stuck at 4.0.3 seems to have other troubles. With email for example. So i was thinking, maybe there is a known prroblem with certain tab2's

Anyone else getting a software update on their phone. I am rooted and on software version 1.12.605.6. The software update is Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.13.605.7-1.12.605.6. Anyone know what this is and how to stop it?

It is an OTA that was released about a month ago. The only way I know to stop it is to install a custom ROM, or install the update from these forums (If you let it update from your phone it will soft brick your phone).

hi i bought samsung galaxy tab 2 GT-p3100 yesterday and i installed latest kies...it prompted me a latest update when i clicked update its say in the bottom that device connection is lost and the automatically connects to kies and asks for the update again it goes like a loop pls some help me to sort this

thanks for your kind reply dude by the way OTA mean OVER THE AIR UPDATE ..im i right?? i tried to update through wifi from phone ...but it told me no software updates is there problem in my phone?? should i take this phone to samsung service centre to claim warranty??? and my baseband version is P1300DDLE1 and built number is IM47K.P1300DDALE1... SO YOU PLS HELP ME SORT THIS ISSUE??? and i jus this P1300DDALE1 belongs to countries belongs to SRI LANKA and NEPAL...im in india and i guess it should come with indian firmware i guess???im i cheated by the samsung dealer who sold this piece me???

no i am too from india and there is no problems with our phones......
Thing is samsung has not released ota updates for all users.wait for some time you will get ota.
But if you are in hurry go to service center and they will flash latest firmware on your tab....thats all...

I am facing the same issue...I have purchased the tab 2 weeks ago and didn't realize till one of my friend bought one, since he was new to this, brought it to me to set it up, while setting it up for the first time, an OTA update notification came, said OK and found the tab got upgraded to 4.0.4, I have tried checking for an OTA update, a message appeared "no update available", tried with Kies, as soon as the tab is connected it showed an update available, when applied it gets disconnected and re-connect with same option as update available....for almost a week it is same..no OTA and not getting updated...
I guess we have to wait for a little more time...
Update on 30th July...Kies updated my device to 4.0.4
Just tried once again like every day with OTA, as usual no update available...tried with Kies with no expectations but surprisingly...the tab started getting the update installed...it took couple of hours but done and no issues found...

Finally Samsung has released the German ICS 4.0.4 for our GT-P6201. Update via Kies was quick any easy.

I am not 100% shure if i used this one, but mine bricked after that update after i whiped
today i have it back, and the mainboard was changed.
and as igotbrickbug said: it hase again the same emmc :/
flashed 4.0.4 without any problems with odin (kies dosent want to update oO?!?)
it work very well.

Sad to hear you bricked you Tab with the official update. I didnn't experiance any issues with Kies.

bought my N8010 last week in Switzerland. There is no OTA upadate, nor from kies for JB. Does anybody know when or if it is coming? Could I root my tablet to intall it manually?

I'm in the USA and got a N8010 from canada.It showed a software update immediately but of course it didn't work.I think the device gets confused when it leaves the designated country even though it is eligable for the update.Follow this guide and you will have the JB XXBLK9 update in no time.I don't know how OTA's work for a device out of it's country code but I think it may have to be done like this every time.Very easy to do,just check the forums when you know there may be a new update.Take Care

Think he means a screenshot of the message that appears on screen.
Normal practice is to give as much info as possible eg are u rooted? Do you have a custom rom ? Etc etc otherwise it's just a guessing game for everyone on here
You say your on hboot 2.2.2 so I am assuming your android version is 4.3 stock .
If when you click on check for updates and it says "no update available" then there is no update available! As it hasn't been pushed to your device yet by your service provider.Are you on about sense6? If so I don't no anyone that's had the official update yet. You can get sense 6 from here if you are rooted.
If when you click check for updates and it says ther is, but you can't download. Then that is a different story.
It's all just a guess without info

and it just say no update available,the phone Is unlock.
