[Q] Automatic Screen Lock Time - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a google apps account and use the device policy manager. I'm having a problem with screen lock time. On the web site, I set it for 30 minutes but the maximum setting on my phone and N7 is 10 minutes. If I change it on the web site to five minutes, the maximum on the phone is 2 minutes.
Anyone else with a google apps account and device policy seeing the same problem? Thanks.

Problems with Battery & Data Manager

It looks like the battery modes don't work reliably on my Atrix 2.
1. When a battery saver mode is selected and the battery & data manager turns push off, it does not obey the fetch schedule that the user selects in the e-mail client. Instead it defaults to fetching every 15 min. In fact it does this even if push was not enabled in the first place.
2. The off-peak hours selected in battery modes are not followed by the battery & data manager. Even during peak hours, push is turned off after inactivity (and the e-mail client reverts to fetching every 15 min by default, even if some other fetching schedule was selected by the user beforehand).
3. The “Turn off data after:” option seems to have no effect. No matter what interval is selected here, push is turned off after about 15 min of inactivity from what I can tell.
Is anybody else having problems with battery saver modes?

I did some more testing and regardless of what battery mode is selected, the e-mail client defaults to fetching every 15 minutes at completely random times from what I can tell (whether or not push is enabled in the first place). This seems to be a problem with Motorola’s custom e-mail client and not the battery modes.
It is interesting that some users are not having this problem.

I am using the device as it came out of the box. System version: 55.11.16.MB865.ATT.en.US and Build: 5.5.1-175_EDFFW1-16
I sent an e-mail to Motorola support, let’s see what they have to say (if anything at all). Looks like a lot of Bionic users are having the same issue as well and Motorola failed to resolve it so far.
Im on the same build as you. Did u open the email app, go into settings and pick the sync interval you want?

I did pick an interval, but somehow it would always revert to 15 min when push is enabled. However, I did discover today that push works fine even when this happens. I sent my corporate account several e-mails today from another account at random times and all have come in instantly without problem. When I check the client right after an e-mail comes in, it actually says push is enabled again. So I believe this is simply how the Motorola client works.

Maybe that's why I haven't had this problem, I have never enabled push as I don't have anything that's that urgent that I need to be notified about it immediately. If it's that serious they can call me.

push was automatically enabled for my gmail accounts. i had to physically disable the push in email sync
Never had any of these problems, battery mode always set to nighttime saver. Only have gmail synced to this phone so couldn't say about another email application.

[NEED HELP] Exchange Services on Android

Hey guys,
Here is my problem:
Every time i try to setup my work email account on my devices, the setup works great for a random amount of time but then, the device go in sync loop for no reason.
The only fix i found is to disable auto sync on the concerned exchange account, reboot the device, and reset the auto-sync .... I need to do it sometimes more than 3 times a week.
If i don't do it, the device become warm and exchanges services eat my battery in 30 minutes.
I've tryed a lot of devices with lots of different settings but i'm out of ideas here. I also tried on lollipop and marshmallow but no luck.
I'm the owner of the exchange 2010 server so i can try some settings on it.
I've seen some posts here talking about this issue but no fix found there....
Any ideas ??

[U11 Life Android One] Syncing App does not run every 10 minutes

Hi,
I use the memotoo app to sync my calendar and contacts with Cal/CardDAV Memotoo server. Sync is set to run every 10 minutes, but it never runs.
No energy saving. Battery optimization is switched off. Notifications set to highest priority. Automatic sync is allowed.
I tried additionally https://developer.zebra.com/communi...cation-running-when-the-device-wants-to-sleep
(app is already on whitelist) and https://www.xda-developers.com/android-oreo-background-location-whitelist with no success.
Is there any known issue in Android One 8.0.0 Dec 1st 2017, or any solution?

The first i would look at is permissions
All set.
Have you looked at memotoos web site. There is some help there to find. They have a wiki, forum and online help. For me this looks like a memotoo problem. I have no problem with syncing, but then again, i don't use memotoo.
I asked them several times, never received an answer concerning those sync issues on several phones. This is an Android thing, for sure. In other cases, the operator is very helpful on his site.
Anyway, after doing a full data resync, server -> phone, inside the Memotoo app, the scheduled sync now does, what it should do. Even better, after going into flight mode during night and back to normal mode this morning, syncing starts on it's own.

Vivo Account keeps log out

Hello,
from this morning my phone keeps saying that my vivo account is expired and keeps logging me off.
i put the password, it logs in and after some seconds or minutes it logs out again.
any reason why? or how to fix this?
i have a chinese number made online and got the phone from 6 months.

Issue with passkeys on android

Hi everyone
i'm using two android phones which are compatible with google passkeys. I have problem with my new phone, because i don't see notifications from passkeys to authorize my login request.
Basically my older phone is fine, no matter when i log in to any website which supports webauth/passkeys, i always receive notification, i'm scanning my fingerprint and it's working great omegle xender .
I also have newer phone which i purchased like 5 months ago and there i have problem. Both phones are listed on google passkeys website and both are registered as keys to various websites. Unfortunately when i decide to authorize myself on page through new phone i don't receive any notification on my screen. The only option i have to click "Use a different Phone or tablet", scan again code and then it'll work.
After this another scan, it'll work for few minutes? i receive normally all notifications, but after like 20 minutes it break again. I've checked and notifications are enabled for google chrome.
Any ideas on how to fix that?
