Hi everyone
i'm using two android phones which are compatible with google passkeys. I have problem with my new phone, because i don't see notifications from passkeys to authorize my login request.
Basically my older phone is fine, no matter when i log in to any website which supports webauth/passkeys, i always receive notification, i'm scanning my fingerprint and it's working great omegle xender .
I also have newer phone which i purchased like 5 months ago and there i have problem. Both phones are listed on google passkeys website and both are registered as keys to various websites. Unfortunately when i decide to authorize myself on page through new phone i don't receive any notification on my screen. The only option i have to click "Use a different Phone or tablet", scan again code and then it'll work.
After this another scan, it'll work for few minutes? i receive normally all notifications, but after like 20 minutes it break again. I've checked and notifications are enabled for google chrome.
Any ideas on how to fix that?

Downloaded the OTA update on my S6 yesterday, and I noticed that Smart Lock (the feature that keeps your phone unlocked if you are in trusted locations, etc) had stopped working. I went to check the Smart Lock settings and now they are greyed out! Did this happen to everyone or just me?
people in Edge forum reporting same issue so you are not alone.
i think most folks here are waiting the couple days needed for a dev to update the OTA to be root before updating which is why you dont see a lot of response to this question.
It definitely messed up lock screen stuff. I use fingerprint and now I get the lock at the bottom of the lock screen sometimes. When I pull it up it does nothing, then switches to fingerprint mode.
Well, disregard my complaint. User ignorance. The day they update rolled out I also bought a new car with bt (for the first time)and paired my device. Apparently I just didn't recognize what smart lock looked like.
I think this update messed up the camera or something. My pictures seem blurry as hell.
Sent from my SM-G920V using XDA Free mobile app
I can confirm that mine does the same thing!
Glad it was figured out. I was going to say my smart lock has been working fine with my LG G Watch after I installed the update.
If you have a corporate Exchange account which requires a password or fingerprint, then Smart Lock will no longer work after the Samsung update a few days ago. I'm getting around the problem at the moment by setting up some profiles in Tasker. I have also read that if you remove your Exchange account and switch to Nine Exchange email from the Play store, that brings smart lock functionality back.
EDIT:
More testing. After disabling Tasker, I have confirmed that removing my Exchange account from the phone does indeed make smart lock start working as expected again.
Also, I've downloaded and set up Nine and Smart Lock still works as expected. Just FYI in case anybody else is experiencing this issue. Something to look at.
You normally use gmail for exchange? If so, uninstall updates for gmail then readd your account and smartlock will work again. This is a known issue on other devices.
One of the versions of gmail after 5.1 broke it... You may not see the issue unless you reactivate gmail. Many users report smartlock working until either readding their account or reactivating gmail. But regardless, downgrading gmail seemed to work...
Hi, Forum,
Huawei y625 u51, android 442 here. Rooted.
My problem is with the networking user apps. All of them, besides chrome and play store, are unable to connect to the internet, having my phone connected.
So basically i have chrome connected perfectly, i read news, i read mail, whatever i want and it is all fine. Sadly, when i run skype, viber, or other user netapp, they sign me in, but do not send data and specifically give message "no connection", when there actually is one.
After i reinstall the app, it works fine. On the next day, it is all repeated - i connect and use chrome to surf, but when run skype or viber - it is to stubborn to connect i guess :d Thus i have to literally reinstall several webapps every morning after i wake up. This is a torture and irritates me heavily.
It has all begun, when i deactivated some google apps, that i dont use, in order to hide their icons from the menus. Right from the next day the above mentioned has started. I have them activated all back, but i guess the damage was already done and no solution but reinstall returns my ability to use whatsapp, viber and ect.
Any cure?
Greetings.
Ps: I have to admit, that i have pretty unfortunate experience up to now with android and i firmly believe to use it for a no further device i buy, if no major improvements are held. I feel like in a coop with it - restrictions, restrictions, restrictions.
for a ling time, through a variety of phones, i have used different email apps with no issues. Lately though, and i think its since updating to oreo, im getting the push notification of an email but it just wont open the body of the mail. Ive tried about 5 diferent email apps now and all are the same.
So ive gone back to the built in email app and emails are opening and showing everything fine but am i right in thinking it isnt push notifications? I cant see anyway of doing so, just to sync every 15, 30, 45 or 60 mins? Is this right?
Is there no way of getting instant push notifications of an email received using the stock huawei email app?
having major issues with email on this phone. Never had problems with any other phone and ive had many over the last 15 years.
No other email app will show the body of an email, the default email did for a while then that stopped as well. Ive uninstalled updates to the huawei mobile services, ive deleted cache and storage for the app and reset up my email. i get loads of errors at different points. Took about 15 attempts to re-set up my email as it couldnt connect to server when setting up. Then it kept telling me my password was wrong when i know it wasnt.
Eventually managed to set it up again and looked like it was working but now it wont send emails. Says something about not being logged in and gives an error code. I can only put this down to a buggy Oreo as i dont remember having issues before updating.
Anyone able to help?
I have a problem with my Note 9. Whenever I'm in China (I work here a lot), my Samsung Account logs out and cannot log in again. The notification keeps popping up (with sound) even after I clear it. It wants to remain logged in at all times or complains. I don't use anything by Samsung so have no need for it but the damned thing cannot be switched off** The problem disappears as soon as I arrive back in Europe.
It's almost as if the GFW of China is not allowing connection to Samsung servers or maybe Samsung rejects requests from China? But then, I get the same thing through a VPN and a SOCKS proxy, so I'm very confused by this. Could it be a time zone bug?
**I've followed every guide out there, Samsung services cannot be fully switched off or removed on a Note 9. Prove me wrong! please.
UPDATE, can't believe my luck. I've fixed it!
I logged into Samsung's website and was met with a prompt to Accept the latest Terms and Conditions. After I did this, the phone can log in and no longer complains. Way-to-go Samsung, you bunch of fools. There was no way to log in via my phone because of your stupid implementation of web services.

If you have multiple devices, you'll get the same notifications on all of them, if your setup is the same.
For example, if you receive an email, the notification will come through on all devices. Now if you act on the notification on one device, such as opening the email or deleting it, the notification disappears on the other devices, if they are online at that time.
Here is the problem:
If your other device (s) is offline, you'll still receive these notifications the moment that device turns online, even though you may have already acted on that notification on another device earlier.
The notifications sync only on devices that are online at the time you act on them. But if any device is offline, it will recieve these notifications later when it turns online. This becomes a headache if you connect a device (you don't use often) online after a few days. Because a very large number of old notifications (that have already been acted on) begin to bombard you each time.
Is there a way to force the notification sync in a way that a notification that has already been acted on in one device, stops showing up on other devices that come online later?
Look for an app that runs in the cloud. I believe that in that case, the notification will appear only once, because opening the interface to the application from the cloud does not launch another instance of the program.

I'm not sure if you understood the problem mentioned in the OP correctly.
What can I do for apps like Gmail, Outlook, Calendar, YouTube, News apps, etc.
For now, I have simply turned OFF notifications on my other devices for most apps so I don't get bombarded with old notifications in each device.
I'm not sure if this is something that Google Play Services can fix, because that is the common service running on all Android phones.
