How to debrand after S-OFF

Now that we have S-OFF how can we debrand our phones? Is it enough to flash the unbranded RUU? Or do we have to do it through recovery?
I would like to know this too, would like to remove the branding from my Sensation as well.
Download a custom rom.Any chance either of you can perform a backup in recovery and upload the recovery.img please
same querry i m on s off
i installed super cid on tried to flash asia_wwe {381 mb} on mt tmobile sensation, it gave me error 130 (ruu not specific for device).

How is that supposed to help in debranding the phone??
ok
I installed leedroid, based on europe unbranded rom on my tmobile. i knew it before hand that would not debrand my phone, even then i did it.
i then tried to install ruu for the same version. got smae error 130 (not specific for device).
I noticed that installing leedroid did not update my baseband.(radio)
Maybe i'll try installing radio and see if it works.
Guys if anyone has any idea kindly help! we dont wana pay $30 for getting an ulock code, if it can be done on our own
S-off done
Clockworkmod
Perm Root
SuperCID installed
Update: Changed baseband as well did not work
Ok
I think the SuperCID posted in the DEV section is not working.
Because in the HTC desire Z section here, there is a post on how to debrand the phone.
and its pretty simple:
1-S off
2-CID Off
Flash any unbranded RUU from PC and good to go!
I have SuperCID installed but when i Flash RUU it give error 130 (Incoorect RUU for the Device).
So i guess SUper CID is not doing what its supposed to do
Here you go guys, I wrote up a guide in the dev section:

Thanks alexp999. Is there any difference with the SuperCID method? Is having ENG H-BOOT better? Noob questions, I know....

I prefer not changing cid, then I don't have to keep backup for warranty purposes. My method also doesn't require root.
Eng hboot is only temporary as it gets overwritten with shipped hboot when you flash the ROM from the ruu. Eng is only used to bypass cid check.

[Q] About flashing ICS RUU

Hi all,
I searched everywhere and read everything about this, but it seems to be a little confusion yet
I would flash the new Sensation XE ICS RUU, but firstly I have many question:
1. I didn't do Super CID on my Sensation (regular, not XE, not 4G), must be done? I'm already S-OFF with Revolutionary.io tool and I can flash whatever ROM do I want.
2. If I doesn't like anything can I return back on 1.17.1111 HBOOT?
3. What are the requisites before flashing?
4. IT IS SAFE?
5. Anyone flashed that? Can you tell me some tips or perhaps warnings?
Sorry for being noob. I repeat: I read everything in this forum, but before flashing I want to make sure of everything twice.
Hello, I'am new in this forum: I have htc sensation xe, full originally, S-ON....ecc..
also I too am still confused:
1)Can I try the ICS Ruu with htc sensation xe S-ON?
2)If what is the procedure to do this?
Thanks in advance and sorry for being noob.

I don't think you can only "try". Maybe once you flash that RUU you can't reflash older RUUs back.
I'm not sure if you need super Cid completed. I have done it, since in the flashing forum, it is one of the steps to follow. I believe it is needed to flash rims to do with different carriers.
When you root your phone, go into clockworkmod recovery and backup your rom. The you can flash ics Tom and return to yourl original if you wish.
That is what I did. The ice roms. Are fairly laggy atm, so I revert back. Hope this helps

I didn't talk simply about any ROM, but an entire RUU.

If you are on a Sensation (non XE) then yes you should need supercid as you are installing a rom not of your carrier. Here is the way you can test. Download it and try to flash it. It will not let you if it has a CID issue then you SuperCID.
2 - Yup just flash the hboot from an earlier rom
3 - Check this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414243
4 - Yes and no. If you mess up doing SuperCID you have a chance of bricking your phone but if you follow the instructions you should be fine.
5 - I haven't but across ARHD, Virtuous, RCMix, etc I have seen many who have and are up and running.
So I that I can try the sensation XE ICS RUU without the super-CID and with HTC sensation XE original and witouth root(S-ON)?
Then to return to the starting point (Android 2.3.4 and sense 3.0 original ) just reinstall the original RUU(RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed) from here:filefactory.com/f/c87a2330449af512/?
thanks in andvance
If you are S-ON do NOT - under ANY circumstances - flash the RUU
If you do you will NOT be able to downgrade to a previous RUU as you won't be able to S-OFF your handset. You will be stuck with it until such time as Revolutionary works with the new HBOOT (if at all)
You have been warned...

but if you reinstall the RUU: RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed
I reinstall the previous hboot and then I can not in any way to unlock your phone (S-OFF)?

Hi,
You are right.

You have to wait until it is...
No,there is no eta.
So basically I'm stuck with original firmware?
What can I do then, root? scid..? cwm?

Hi,
Yes,you can root and install CWM.
But you can only install ROMS with a 3.32 base(latest ICS)
So,6.6.2 is OK
Ok, thank you.
But I tried to flash the CWM taken from the guide thred putting the PG58IMG.zip in the root of the sd.
But when I start the bootloader it says wrong image...

Hi,
Try THIS ONE
Still says wrong image....
My cid num, got with adb, is: VODAP102.
Should I insert it in android-info?
Should I super cid the phone before cwm?
Youre gonna have to unlock your bootloader by using htc's official method (google it). Then youll be able to install CWM and whatever else. There are limitations, theres a good guide in the development section about htc official bootloader unlocker. Read that before attempting.

Yes you will have to use the HTC Dev method right now if you want to flash a custom ICS ROM being as those are the only ones you will be able to flash with the Hboot you have. But know this ahead of time the HYC De. Unlock is very different then the Revolutionary unlock. Click the link in my sig to learn mote about the HTc Dev unlock and what it allows you to do. But if I was you I would just wait until Revolutionary supports Hboot 1.27.0000, or someone comes up with a Hboot downgrade for the Sensation cause the HTC Dev method does not fully unlock all portitions except the radio portition like Revolutionary does. Plus it leaves evidence your bootloader has been unlocked so HTC can say your warranty is void. Check out this post to as it gives a little more insight on HTC Dev unlock.
So to root the device I have to CWM it, to CWM it I need to unlock the bootloader?
But, If not rooted, unlocked nor CWModded, can I just install ARHD?
Ok, let's take it the other way round:
My phone is locked, hboot 1.27.0000, S-on, cid VODAP102 and not rooted, but last official stock ics.
Now I want to install last ARHD, what should I do and how??

To flash AHRD you will have to have a unlocked bootloader, either by HTC Dev method or by Revolutionary method. Now as stated by you, malybru, and myself we all know Revolutionary is not compatible with Hboot 1.27.0000 (as of right now), which your device currently has. So this leaves only the HTC Dev method. Now I personally agree with others here on XDA, I would normally stay far away from unlocking via HTC Dev. But seeing as you bought your Sensation new with Hboot 1.27.0000, you really have no other alternative but to wait for Revolutionary to update or for some other means of unlocking becomes available. Also if you do manage to downgrade your Hboot you will have to use HTC Dev to do it.
Now I am in no way saying you should use HTC Dev, nor am I advocating HTC Dev. I am just trying to inform you. What you do with your device is your choice and your choice only. But what ever you do, please post back here with your decision and if applicable any results.
Also if you was wondering why you have to use HT Dev to downgrade Hboot, read this post. Yeah I know it is for GB ROMs but I imagine the same probably holds true for ICS. I mean it is the HTC Dev unlock that allowsyou to downgrade in that senario. But what do I know.

Sure, exploit H.Boot 1.27.0000 for S-Off is revolution, new model of HTC phone is same like HTC_One
****ing S-ON policy HTC because you total locked us
And that is why HTC always following behind Samsung nowadays
I'm waiting XDA revolution
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and new nothing about rooting until a few days ago...quickly discovered the fact that Revolution does not support 1.27.
I unlocked with HTC DEV, ran recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.9-pyramid.img using Fastboot CLI.
After that I backed up my stock Vodafone ICS ROM using CWM then switched to the XDA guide for rooting with su-2.3.6.3 and followed rest of XDA guides for installing a ROM (really useful guides - Thanks!!)
Within an hour I had gone from stock Vodafone ICS to Virtuous Inquisition-v4.0.1
I'll admit I got hooked up on flashing recovery and was given some guidance by a friendly soul but figured the rest out from this forum..

S-OFF for back to stock? serously?

Hey guys,
im pretty done at the moment.
I'm trying to get back to stock on my HTC Sensation and already spent like 3 hours to get it.
So, my current infos:
unlocked
s-on
hboot 1.27
ARHD custom rom
ext4 custom recovery
So, i downloaded equals roms from here: http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Pyramid (equals with the ARHD rom, i already tried others, but it still fails)
but i dont know what to do now.
When i relock bootloaded it fails, when im on ROM the itself it fails.
What should i do actually? i followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425
But i dont get it - do i really need s-off to go back to stock?
Isnt there an easier way to do it? im pretty done at the moment and simply want to have it stock, help me guys...
// PS my CID is this: VODAP102 and i already tried to run this: RUU-Pyramid-ICS-Vodafone-DE-3.32.162.11-R-Radio-11.69A.3504.00U-11.23.3504.07-M2-release-251539-signed but it says wrong image... i will throw this thing on the wall soon

if your firmware is higher then the one which is in the ruu.exe then you can't downgrade while on S-ON
you need to S-OFF for downgrade
AFAIK with your cid there is no ruu.exe with the same firmware as yours or higher
what about if you try create a goldcard first..then you can flashing different RUU that are already had a higher firmware version than yours..?, like this RUU maybe..or else that are already had 3.33.xxx.xx firmware?
don't forget to relock your bootloader first too..
You could also attempt to downgrade your misc partition that would allow you to flash a lower RUU as long as the hboot inside was not a gingerbread downgrade I think.

(Q) unlock and s-off

Hi
In the earlier model of htc you need s-off to flash custom rom. My U11 is unlocked and s-on, and i am on viper 1.80 rom.
Whats the benefits of s-off.?
Thank you
S-off is for making permanent changes to a device, like flashing unofficial firmware and changing its region etc..
