In the faq I've read there is no mention about the unsupported hboot 1.27.0000...
Shall I downgrade the hboot? But how if it's not rooted nor SCID nor s-off..??

Hi,
You are right.
1.27.000 is not currently supported.
You have to wait until it is...
No,there is no eta.

So basically I'm stuck with original firmware?
What can I do then, root? scid..? cwm?

Hi,
Yes,you can root and install CWM.
But you can only install ROMS with a 3.32 base(latest ICS)
So,6.6.2 is OK

Ok, thank you.
But I tried to flash the CWM taken from the guide thred putting the PG58IMG.zip in the root of the sd.
But when I start the bootloader it says wrong image...

Hi,
Try THIS ONE

Still says wrong image....
My cid num, got with adb, is: VODAP102.
Should I insert it in android-info?
Should I super cid the phone before cwm?

Youre gonna have to unlock your bootloader by using htc's official method (google it). Then youll be able to install CWM and whatever else. There are limitations, theres a good guide in the development section about htc official bootloader unlocker. Read that before attempting.

Yes you will have to use the HTC Dev method right now if you want to flash a custom ICS ROM being as those are the only ones you will be able to flash with the Hboot you have. But know this ahead of time the HYC De. Unlock is very different then the Revolutionary unlock. Click the link in my sig to learn mote about the HTc Dev unlock and what it allows you to do. But if I was you I would just wait until Revolutionary supports Hboot 1.27.0000, or someone comes up with a Hboot downgrade for the Sensation cause the HTC Dev method does not fully unlock all portitions except the radio portition like Revolutionary does. Plus it leaves evidence your bootloader has been unlocked so HTC can say your warranty is void. Check out this post to as it gives a little more insight on HTC Dev unlock.

So to root the device I have to CWM it, to CWM it I need to unlock the bootloader?
But, If not rooted, unlocked nor CWModded, can I just install ARHD?
Ok, let's take it the other way round:
My phone is locked, hboot 1.27.0000, S-on, cid VODAP102 and not rooted, but last official stock ics.
Now I want to install last ARHD, what should I do and how??

To flash AHRD you will have to have a unlocked bootloader, either by HTC Dev method or by Revolutionary method. Now as stated by you, malybru, and myself we all know Revolutionary is not compatible with Hboot 1.27.0000 (as of right now), which your device currently has. So this leaves only the HTC Dev method. Now I personally agree with others here on XDA, I would normally stay far away from unlocking via HTC Dev. But seeing as you bought your Sensation new with Hboot 1.27.0000, you really have no other alternative but to wait for Revolutionary to update or for some other means of unlocking becomes available. Also if you do manage to downgrade your Hboot you will have to use HTC Dev to do it.
Now I am in no way saying you should use HTC Dev, nor am I advocating HTC Dev. I am just trying to inform you. What you do with your device is your choice and your choice only. But what ever you do, please post back here with your decision and if applicable any results.
Also if you was wondering why you have to use HT Dev to downgrade Hboot, read this post. Yeah I know it is for GB ROMs but I imagine the same probably holds true for ICS. I mean it is the HTC Dev unlock that allowsyou to downgrade in that senario. But what do I know.

Sure, exploit H.Boot 1.27.0000 for S-Off is revolution, new model of HTC phone is same like HTC_One
****ing S-ON policy HTC because you total locked us
And that is why HTC always following behind Samsung nowadays
I'm waiting XDA revolution

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and new nothing about rooting until a few days ago...quickly discovered the fact that Revolution does not support 1.27.
I unlocked with HTC DEV, ran recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.9-pyramid.img using Fastboot CLI.
After that I backed up my stock Vodafone ICS ROM using CWM then switched to the XDA guide for rooting with su-2.3.6.3 and followed rest of XDA guides for installing a ROM (really useful guides - Thanks!!)
Within an hour I had gone from stock Vodafone ICS to Virtuous Inquisition-v4.0.1
I'll admit I got hooked up on flashing recovery and was given some guidance by a friendly soul but figured the rest out from this forum..

You could probably flash eng hboot and then use revolutionary..... I think.

If you look at the threads in the HTC Sensation and EVO 3D forums, when you use the HTC procedure to Unlock the bootloader at the HTCDEV.com site, it does not change the security status to S-OFF, but you are able to flash a custom recovery and ROMs, but you need to do this using FASTBOOT commands.

Nice but useless Maybe best for newbies. These days our forum is flooded with questions about errors, bricks, hboot replacement, etc. including one from myself...
revolutionary doesn't state that it supports this hboot on their site??
I just wanted to know because if i install the legit ota for sense 3 it will reflash my bootloader to the locked new 1. and ofc i would want to S-OFF in again!

i just like the idea of stock sense 3! but ofc i still use titanium to remove all the bloatware that i don't use or need. then i make a nand backup
thats the way i do it with all the roms i use. Ive got quite a few nands to switch between depending on my mood
I doubt revolutionary would work. You could go into the IRC and ask, I read someone unlocked the boot loader by going on htcdev.com

With the fastboot you can flash an Engineering Bootloader as well. So it is a way to S-OFF more or less.

[Q] Is there a RUU for HBOOT 1.27.1100

Hello,
my HTC SENSATION has the HBOOT Version 1.27.1100 and I want to download a RUU to restore my HTC device completely. But I can´t find a RUU with this HBOOT version.
I only have to download the right RUU and install it on my HTC device to restore it completely, right?

Ok this will be my last post here cause I don't want to hyjack this thread.
This has brought a question to mind and I will have to see if I can find the answer some how. The question is what does Hboot use to flash the PG58IMG.zip. I personally have always thought it used recovery to flash the file.

It uses the bootloader to flash the file. If you put it on your sd card and reboot into bootloader (volume down button + power button) you will be asked to update. Choose yes using the volume buttons and the file will be flashed, easy as that

Hboot 1.27 is clearly ICS.
Download official RUU from here (RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.5_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_246089_signed)
This is the latest official ICS RUU for unbranded Europe Sensation.
If your device is branded or your region is not Europe then search for the appropriare RUU.
Run the exe from pc with phone usb plugged. It will restore your phone as "out of the box".
Hope it helped.
Man I really don't understand any of this lol......... I'm just gonna ask a few questions and you guys can either respond or not....
1) I am on stock ICS, rooted, with HTC Dev Unlocked and using Clockwork. If I wanted to un-root, remove clockwork and re-lock the Hboot... How would that go exactly? 1.27.0000 etc...
2) I don't understand why getting S-Off is so difficult. If one would simply downgrade from ICS to GB, wouldn't that change the Hboot version to a lower one, and then you would be able to use the Revolutionary way? Or is that not possible to do? Or does the downgrade not affect the Hboot?
3) Which Custom ROM am I able to flash at the moment? Any, based on ICS?

Hi,
1. I think that you can just run the RUU in the post above yours.(If your phone is European)
2.Downgrading is not possible on hboot 1.27.000
HTC have locked you out of this possibility.
3.As you say.Any 3.32. based ICS ROM.

It can be done only by running corresponding RUU which can be found based on your firmware(in your case it is 3.32) and cid (to get cid "fastboot getvar cid")...if you are unbranded i.e. cid is HTC__001..then you can run the above mentioned ruu...or else you should get the appropriate one...if you can't find it then post your cid along with radio..we can find the appropriate one for you

If you are S-ON you can't downgrade...not by running a RUU or by flashing firmware directly...that's why people use revolutionary first to get soff and then they'll flash unlocked firmware to update the hboot and all...

[Q] How to s-off my XE?

I cannot s-off my Sensation XE with revolutionary tool.
It says to fill in a form at their site with device type , hboot version and serial number.
I have hboot version 1.27.0000 and the available versions on the form are only 1.17 and 1.18.
Except this when i run the tool it says that "your device , pyramid with hboot 1.27.0000 is not supported at this time".
i have installed the htc driver.
i powered on my phone without hboot (i removed the battery and then turned on).
i have ICS 4.03 version 3.32.468.112 (i got it OTA two days ago).
How can i s-off and then root my phone?
Please help me because i have not done anything like that before.
You have the wrong hboot version. Using revolutionary won't wont work for a phone with the ICS OTS use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611981
That.
you say that i must change my hboot version for it to work?
how is it wrong?
it is the one that my phone had stock.
and how can i change my hboot version?
will be all ok then or my phone will become unstabel or lose something?
Try the tacoroot method. I had a set of detailed instructions somewhere.

If you want S-off you will have to use the Juopunutbear S-off method linked above. Her is z link to the only detailed guide for the Sensation there is now.
Now by all means please understand you will have to use HTC Dev to unlock your bootloader before you can use this S-off method. When you use HTC Dev to unlock your bootloader it can cause you to void your warranty.

Sorry about that, don't know why it did that. I fixed the link in that post now.
does anyone know if there will be a new tool that supports the latest hboot versions?
if there will be i can wait to do it that way because the others seem a little risky to me.
It's Juopauntbear or nothing at the moment, and it works fine.
You can always just use HTCDev unlock for the time being, that let's you flash recovery to swap ROMs & gain root.

i read at their site but i didnt understand much.
what is the juopauntbear method and what is the HTCDev?
the only thing i saw is that you do something with a wire at the phone and i am confused.
is it the same thing or i must do both to s-off?
i entered rhe HTCDev unlock page and it has some instructions.
if i do this will i be able to s-off or i must then do the juopauntbear tricks?
You must do the juopunutbear method if you want to s-off
But befor that you must use the HTCDev and root
You must understand that yll lose your warranty if you use the HTCDev method.
so the only way now to s-off with hboot 1.27 is juopunutbear right?
What exactly do the HTCDev then? I see that unlocks the bootloader.
I think is in different order than with revolutionary tool (first s-off then root then anything else but with this method you need first Htcdev then root then s-off) or am i wrong?
HTCDev does not unlock the bootloader only parts of it, so thats why you have to first unlock via HTCDev and then root and finaly s-off with Juopunutbear...Thats the only way to fully unlock your bootloader

That is the only way until revolutionary release a new tool that supports the new hboot versions i think.

(advice needed) Hboot 2.00.0002, should I downgrade or not ?

I currently have a desires s (S-ON, not-rooted and bootloader unlocked), I am not sure if I should downgrade to hboot 0.98 as S-OFF for this is not available right now and as the title says I want you all to tell me what to do !
I could either keep this hboot and simply unlock the boot loader, root my phone and install a custom recovery to flash roms. But that way I won't be able to S-OFF my device and hence I wouldn't be able to install all custom roms such as virtuous saga which requires S-OFF .
And If I downgrade my device, I am not sure if the kernels, radio, and other things would be that efficient plus I doubt if I would be able to install all roms, like ICS Sense 4 roms
(kinda new to all this so I don't know if I am being a noob, but I seriously need your reply on this)
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
I can tell you what i did:
I unlocked my bootloader at htcdev right away when i got my desire s, then got superuser access to my phone. It was pretty fun, but I couldn't do EVERYTHING Plus, I lost parts of my warranty.
I really wanted s-off to be able to flash all roms available.
After a month or so, i did a downgrade of the hboot, with this instructions.
It worked flawlessly, although it's an hour of work or so if you're new to android. Terminal/ADB looks weird and complicating at first, but hey, you just need to copy the lines off the tutorial, it works perfect if you do as told
My advice: DON'T unlock at HTCdev (gives yo FULL warranty, even if you flash a custom rom), and just simply follow the downgrade instructions. Then you'll have full access, full warranty and no limitations at all, it's absolutely worth the downrade/s-off!
I'm running ICS now and couldn't be happier with my phone!
First of all thank you for your help on this, even I have had the same thought that its better to downgrade my phone and S-OFF it rather than keeping it S-ON.
Btw I came across anouther doubt which I guess its better to ask here instead of creating a new thread every time, : if I have to use an ruu to downgrade ny device, should my current radio (as seen in bootloader) match the ruu's radio ??
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
No
Have changed my Rom twice not touched the radio firmware at all.
If it ain't broke don't fix it, also read on xda somewhere radio firmware is a local thing it may work in your area but not mine

IMO, there is not much need for you to flash radio.. most of the time you won't need to do so..
and HBoot version can be changed if you are S-Off..
but i have to disagree with your statement that if you don't S-Off you are not able to flash all custom roms.. yes, some may fail to boot up, but mostly they will boot up without problem..
I am currently at the same Hboot as you, HTCDev unlocked and i have tried many roms without problem..
the only thing about having S-On for me is that i will always be dependant on my computer to flash ROM.. other than that, there's no problem generally.. Oh, maybe there is one thing, HTC may know that your phone has already been unlocked since you are using their unlocker.. but there are some ways to relock it and restore the "RELOCKED" in bootloader to "LOCKED"..
I am a newbie, and that's why i unlocked it with HTCDev, but if i were to do it all over again, i would have spend few more days to learn how to downgrade the Hboot and S-Off instead.. you can always flash newer Hboot later anyway..
So my advice, don't worry so much about the radio, or the Hboot version (you can tweak that later) at the moment, then downgrade the Hboot and S-Off it..
IMO it's much better than using HTC unlocker..
thank you guys for all your help and advice, finally after spending a couple of days,I successfully downgraded hboot 2.00.0002 to .98 one.
once again, thankyou all

I assume that you're revolutionary S-OFF by now, you can now easily upgrade on the latest re-engineered hboot
@doghous exactly !, I'm thinking of changing my hboot to the new re_engineered 2.00.0002 by vampire36, or if someone could suggest a better one.......

I have successfully S-Off my DS from HTC Unlock using the method by Skanob, it's pretty straight forward and noob-proof.. (not that you need that now ) and can be used to revert back to stock, S-On, Locked (not Re-locked) if you ever need to repair..
As for Hboot, i have upgraded the Hboot to Eng Hboot 7.00.1002 (the one you mentioned above) so that would be my recommendation, too!

Does anyone know what the differences between the different versions of ENG Hboot?
ENG v0.98.2000 vs. ENG v2.00.xxxx vs. ENG v7.xx.xxxx
Any benefits of using v2.00 or v7.xx over the v0.98?
Thx.

This one isn't an eng hboot. Better use 2.00.2002

This is what I've gathered from forum trawling...
v0.98.xxxx: the original hboot for 1.x roms
Has the partitions: /system, /cache, /data (all ext3 or ext4)
Fastboot support, supports Revolutionary S-OFF
ENG v0.98.xxxx: engineering version of above
v2.00.2002: the new hboot for 2.x roms (Sense 3.0 etc.)
Has the partitions: /system, /system/lib, /cache, /data (all ext4)
NOT supported by Revolutionary
-> apparently, some Sense 3.0+ roms need this new /system/lib partition to work (stability issues), but I'm not sure which ones though...
->Note Revolutionary is NOT supported, so to S-OFF you need to downgrade using TacoRoot, ZergRush/Misc_versions, XTC clip or some other method.
ENG v2.00.xxxx: engineering version of above
RVL v6.98.1000: hboot that comes after you S-OFF with revolutionary
It is of a higher version number so breaks overflashing functionality, so you CANNOT revert to RUU (for warranty returns etc.)
-> Note: This can be overflashed with v6.98.2000 (OverARX), which then allows you to overflash a stock or engineered hboot.
v7.00.1002[\B]: modified 2.00.2000
NOT ENG BOOTLOADER
But are there any real life benefits of one over the other?
for example I have the Rev v6.98.1000 hboot, so what you mean is that I could have problems while flashing roms (occasionally), and hence I should change my hboot to the engineered one ?

I got really frustrated with being S-ON and found the HBOOT downgrade instructions dubious so I found someone in my area with an XTC CLIP device and S-Offed the bastard , don't care much about warranty at this point however.
@ste_vald well done there !, having an s-offed device is surely much better

No, you should be fine installing most of the ROM's (unless specified otherwise in the OP of the ROM).
However, ENG Hboot is recommended so that if required later you can easily flash new radio's / Hboot.
Thank you, but can't I flash radios on this rev hboot

No, i believe you can't! You will require an ENG Hboot...

[Q] Juopunutbear HBOOT 1.27 Stock RUU

Hello guys. I'm new in this "world" and I need some help.
I have unlocked the bootloader using HTC Dev, I'm also root and I have 4EXT recovery.
I want to be S-off to be SuperCID, install firmware 3.33 universal and then install ROMs without problems.
The webpage of Juopunutbear says that I needd to have a stock RUU and no other ROMs are supported. I have Android 4.0.3 official, it was updated by the phone (I haven't changed anything, for now hehe). Can I use Juopunutbear? Is my Android a stock RUU? If not, how can I use Juopunutbear? I've been looking for Stock RUU but I haven't found any version equals or bigger than my build number (3.32). My sensation is a Vodafone Spanish phone.
Thank you!!!
