I had to do factory reset on my phone and I lost some photos. Yesterday I used camera to take a picture and then I found all my lost photos back in gallery! And the photos were lost since september. But I didn't use camera until yesterday. What was that?? It's strange?

If i factory reset my phone, how do i restore back up without wiping out my previous zune sync back up? Coz it seems if i plug it in now, it will say do you want to sync this phone....and may replace my previous phone sync settings

Just make a backup using this app to be sure.
However, Zune will update your phone, it doesn't replace stuff.
For example, I've reset my phone 3-4 times and it never replaced my old photos, although the counter is the same
ok...so what if i changed to another phone of the same model... could i still use the original backup?
If not, are there ways to port a backup from one phone to another? (of the same model)

No and No... Unfortunately.
I was trying to delte SMS files from the phone and was looking for where they were stored in the apps and I found "Media Storage" and deleted the data in it thinking it was the sms files but it wasnt and now all my stock ringtones are gone and I think I may have deleted other media from the Nexus along with it :/ Is there any way I can get back the stock media storage that was on the Nexus 5 before I deleted it? I feel stupid that I did this and I hope I dont have to do a factory restore :/

Deleting this folder means they are gone bro unless you made a backup on your PC or nandroid in recovery.

Thats advised after a full flash but it was worth a shot to try it without a full wipe
I updated using the OTA update and the rear camera option is now gone completely from my phone. It looks like the camera doesn't even see the rear camera.
I have now rooted it and uloaded The latest Dirty Unicorns 4.4.3 rom thinking it was the OTA update, and looks like that wasnt the cause.
I have tried multiple apps, and they just crash immediately. Tried different roms, different Gapps, as well as wiped everything multiple times. I am worried that the OTA update has somehow killed my camera.
Any thoughts?
Here are a couple screen shots showing the rear camera is gone from the settings.

I wiped everything i could find on the phone. lol
I used the recovery and the factory reset to wipe it all.
Wiped data and cache in the recovery. The only thing i didnt wipe was the Dalvik, as there was no option to do so.
I did restore the apps through the google play store, but i also tried uninstalling the app and re installing it.
I have not wiped everything, and updated manually. I could try that I suppose. I dont see how that would make a difference, as restoring the apps comes from the Google play store doesn't it?

I just tried resetting EVERYTHING. reformatted it all, as well as the cache, data, dalvik, and factory reset.
Nothing brings back my rear camera on the phone. I am going to look for a 4.4.2 stock rom and see if that brings it back. If that doesn't bring it back. Its obviously a hardware issue.
Flash the 4.4.3 stock images from Google.

I have flashed back to stock, unrooted, stock recovery, wiped everything multiple times. I uninstalled the updated camera app. used the "factory app" then reinstalled the camera app.
The application Google camera is now back in my application list. However, the phone refuses to see the rear camera. Its almost like the phone decided its no longer there.
I switch the camera to the panoramic or sphere camera setting, and the phone gives the error that the phone does not have a rear camera. I am so stumped its not even funny. I am taking it into T-Mobile tomorrow.
I will update if I get a resolution.
Resolution: Hardware issue

I had wiped it multiple times, unrooted, flashed stock recovery, got the icon to reappear, and the phone still didn't see the rear camera. It was gone. The camera app finally started giving me the error that the rear camera didn't exist.
So, after speaking with T-mobile and speaking with Google (neither had a clue) they set me up with an hardware exchange.
I got the new phone, updated without any issues, and works as intended.
If anyone comes up with the same issue. Save yourself some time and effort. Get an exchange on the unit if its still under warranty.
Thank you all that tried to help with this issue.
Hi All,
I did a factory reset on my unrooted Nexus 5 & lost all my videos after doing that.
I am running 5.0 now & the phone functions normally.
I am specifically looking for video files for which I forgot to take a backup.
Any kind of help will be highly appreciated.
Just videos? Or your files and sdcard storage in general?
Just video files.. Everything else was backed up before the factory reset.
Man, sorry to say but I think your videos are gone if you forgot to back them up :/

If you hadn't made a backup, it's really gone, forget it my bro.
If you had google photos app, theres a chance that they got automatucally backedup to google's cloud. After factory reset (if the device was encrypted) the decrypt key is gone.
