[Q] Wrong phone shipped with 16Gig vs. 32Gig - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have received my Nexus 5 "32 Gig" edition. But upon looking at Settings -> Storage, it only shows specs for the 16Gig model. It shows 12.2Gig instead of the 26.2Gig a 32Gig model would have.
An IMEI lookup shows that it is listed as the 32Gig model.
Has anyone else received a 16G model when they paid for the 32G model? How did Google support handle your request?

Boot into the stock recovery (bootloader, scroll to recovery and hit power)
hit clear cache and factory reset. Should fix it.

That was the correct answer!
Sorry to do a duplicate post, I didn't see that with my initial forums search.

Problems with mobile data s6 duos

Hi there,
Recently, I've been having mobile data problems with my s6 duos
I've got an s6 duos from globe, so 1 sim slot is locked to globe and the other sim slot is open line. Recently I've been having problems connecting to mobile data using my smart sim card. In the data service network, the option to choose smart for mobile data is locked/unavailable, so I can only use my globe simcard for mobile data. I've tried using a different sim but no luck.
I was able to use my smart sim for mobile data in the past. Though I have no problem receiving texts or calls with my smart sim
Advice is much appreciated
Thanks
Also, in APN under my smart sim, I get this message
"Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile."

My guess... flash BTU ... latest UK g920F firmware. Its kind of imposible to lock 1 sim and the 2nd sim to be unlocked.
Edit: you may lost warranty after this... and this is only my guess.
Edit2: flash a costom recovery... do a full backup so if something goes wrong you restore everything

Thanks for replying! I've never really done something like that before.. so if you could give me links and let me know what are the risks of flashing?
also my unit was purchased locally in the philippines, will a uk firmware work with it?
In settings search "profile" if the cell phone finds any ,post a screenshot of if... and you find firmware at samfirmware.com... or a guy have posted them in general section uploaded in google drive for better speed download

No Service & stuck on USA Band only

Hi folks
My Nexus 5 - unlocked with factory 6.01 MMB29V - has no signal "No Service" displayed. I think it is because I messed up when entering the Phone Info menu (*#*#4636#*#*) and selecting "USA Band" which is now the only option available. I'm on Virgin UK but get the same issue using an 02 SIM card too.
Could anyone offer a solution to getting back the European Band option, if that is what is needed, please?
- many thanks.
The phone is a d820 or d821?
Hi its a D821, bought from Carphone Warehouse in the UK.
Hmm, I didn't think it was possible to enable North American bands on the d821 as the USA and Canada have the d820.
Have you tried reflashing the radio from a stock rom or an entire stock rom?
Thanks for reply.. I flashed ROM from Google's factory images (hammerhead-mmb29v-factory-62a68ee9.tgz) but the option still remains as only "USA BAND".
There seems to have been a solution using a temporary ROM for the Nexus 6P & 5X to bring back the full options:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/recovering-usa-band-to-auto-mode-4636-t3271347#
But I haven't found any solution for the 5
- regards
Maybe a solution
I got contact to bitdomo and got some infos:
!!! Both advices are from bitdomo, nothing comes from me. I deserve no "Thanks" if this works. !!!
1.) Flash Lineage OS an hammerhead. LOS had the "changing-baseband"-feature included. (Yes, feature is included, but did not work for me -> maybe got hardware-issue)
2.) Try:
"Your device probably has a hardware fault or the efs got corrupted by an imei change. The originial imei is printed on the main logic board somewhere. If that does not matches the current imei when you dial *#06# then the phone you currently have is stolen or someone tried an efs repair before. Also Linage Os do the same thing what I did for nexus 5x 6 6p and pixel. Back up your current efs Copy the backup to your pc Try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3lGxQkNaMg Download link in description. Everything you need to rebuild a working efs is inside the rar file. If everything stays the same then you have a hardware problem."
(Everything works, but in the end nothing changed -> I got a hardware issue)

Not able to read sim card

My phone works normally, then, after performing a factory reset, it won't recognize the sim card anymore. If you go to the setting, and try to access the menu where you can set the desired network, everything is not highlighted. That means all menus on that page cannot ne be accessed. Anybody can help? Thank you.
Try a different SIM to see if the issue is serious or a setting problem. Sometimes you can lose your carrier APN settings and have to add it back in.
Does it still show it's EIME numbers in settings? Is it dual SIM or single? Check if anything in Dev options has caused it.

My Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is not a dual sims. It only 16 gb version. In the setting, if I click: All-->more-->mobile network-->(the mobile network setting page menus are all not highlighted or not accessible). Yes, I tried a different simm card, and I went to T-Mobile, the guy told me, she cannot do anything since the menu setting page cannot be accessed. If I type *#06# on the dialer pad, yes the IMEI number will show. This problem accoured after performing a factory reset. Thank you.

if this issue come after factory reset, and if you sure sim card have not any problem, and if you Didn't Flash another firmware on your phone...I suggest find an official firmware Exactly for your model(mt7-tl09) and your reigon(middle east/Europe/Africa/Spain or...) and Flash it on your phone.
it's the best and easyest Way to solve it.
*the comform of firmware model and Reigon with the phone,is very important for working Simcards correctly.
*if nothing change After flash a new firmware,it's surely a Hardware problem.
Yes, I agree with that.
Look in the settings for which stock ROM it's running.
Is it rooted, custom recovery etc?
Needs stock recovery to do ROM update. Root doesn't matter but easy to un-root anyway.

I suggest adding the device model to the thread title.

I don't know if you've already tried this but, try backing up the data that you want to save from your device, then boot into to recovery and choose factory reset, when the factory reset finishes, wipe the cache partition while in recovery then reboot the device.
Contact customer support for your mobile carrier and tell them that you lost service after the update was applied, then see if there is anything they can do from within their system to restore your cellular/network connection. If they mention sending you a new SIM, tell them no and that you will try to fix it first and then if it doesn't work you will accept a new SIM from them. Try finding a different solution before you resort to getting a new SIM because the issue might not even be the SIM but it's worth trying to see if they can do anything before you start trying to find software/flashing solutions that you can do yourself.
If you flashed the update yourself, you might have used an update for a different region. If this is what you did, you need to find the update for your model number and for your specific region, country or carrier. Or you can flash just the modem img or bin file that has been extracted from a firmware update that is for your region, country or carrier.
If that doesn't work. Try flashing the firmware version that you had before the update was applied.

Help finding FW for the Unlocked version (US)

I need help finding the Odin files for the model SM-F916UZKAXAA
For the US variant.
256GB Model
I'm in dire need. I've been fighting Samsung and many others to get something fixed and they all refuse to help. :/
Backstory: Bought secondhand advertised as the AT&T model. After a week stopped working(no calls or texts/data). Just an error message saying "your phone is not registered to a network, you can only make emergency calls"
baseband number in the settings is nothing I can find online. Google shows no results.
Sent to Samsung and they sent an email saying "sorry we cant fix your SM-F916UZKAXAA"
which google says thats the unlocked model not the att model.
which is weird because the boot showed the att logo and had all the att apps preloaded.
Further research shows this behavior is because Android doesnt know how to communicate with the baseband because nothing matches.
IDK what is going on. I Just want to see if trying to odin the supposed model FW will fix my issue.
You can try Samfrew
Here you can download the "U" variant (usually means carrier fw):
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-F916U/
And here you can download "U1" variant (usually means carrier free):
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-F916U1/
If you use regular Odin, it should only let you flash your variant version only (either U or U1)
You can look up patched Odin on XDA if you want to switch it.
