My phone works normally, then, after performing a factory reset, it won't recognize the sim card anymore. If you go to the setting, and try to access the menu where you can set the desired network, everything is not highlighted. That means all menus on that page cannot ne be accessed. Anybody can help? Thank you.
Try a different SIM to see if the issue is serious or a setting problem. Sometimes you can lose your carrier APN settings and have to add it back in.
Does it still show it's EIME numbers in settings? Is it dual SIM or single? Check if anything in Dev options has caused it.

My Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is not a dual sims. It only 16 gb version. In the setting, if I click: All-->more-->mobile network-->(the mobile network setting page menus are all not highlighted or not accessible). Yes, I tried a different simm card, and I went to T-Mobile, the guy told me, she cannot do anything since the menu setting page cannot be accessed. If I type *#06# on the dialer pad, yes the IMEI number will show. This problem accoured after performing a factory reset. Thank you.

if this issue come after factory reset, and if you sure sim card have not any problem, and if you Didn't Flash another firmware on your phone...I suggest find an official firmware Exactly for your model(mt7-tl09) and your reigon(middle east/Europe/Africa/Spain or...) and Flash it on your phone.
it's the best and easyest Way to solve it.
*the comform of firmware model and Reigon with the phone,is very important for working Simcards correctly.
*if nothing change After flash a new firmware,it's surely a Hardware problem.
Yes, I agree with that.
Look in the settings for which stock ROM it's running.
Is it rooted, custom recovery etc?
Needs stock recovery to do ROM update. Root doesn't matter but easy to un-root anyway.

Device locking is done in the operating system, not the physical device. I have yet to see a custom ROM or ASOP to be sim locked.
Now keep in mind, the phone won't show APN's for other networks when you insert your SIM card. What is going on here is the device is reading your sim card to identify the provider then set the proper APN as default. To test if it's unlocked, try a different SIM in the device and see what happens.
Edit: I'm assuming you are talking about a SIM lock. If it's a lock of some other sort, please provide more details with EXACTLY what is going on.

Hello, first i want to thank you for your help.
My phone is unlocked for all providers except one provider(VIP).When i put (VIP) sim card,it says "emergency call only".I tried to Restore default APN,but when i press that it just says "Restoring default APN networks",after a while,it says it is completed, but still there it says"emergency call only".If i try to call anyone,it says Mobile network not available. When i go to "About Phone" menu, then "Status" it says:
Network-Unknown
Service state-Out of service
Roaming-Not roaming
Mobile network state-Disconnected
Other informations:
Model number-Nexus s
Android version-2.3.6
Baseband version-I9020AUCKF1
Build number-GRK39F
So this is it,my phone is locked to only one provider(VIP),if i put any other sim card provider(Tele2,BonBon,Tmobile...)the phone is working well,i can call anyone, text etc.Thank you in fowards...

This is NOT a sim lock. What is going on is that your phone has lost it's APN settings or is using the wrong modem. a sim lock means that your phone will only work with 1 provider, installing the SIM from a different provider will give you an error message similar to this: ‘SIM not valid’, ‘SIM locked’ or ‘SIM not accepted’
Since the phone is working on other providers, i would believe that the phone has lost it's APN settings for VIP. I would look up the APN settings for VIP and manually put them into the phone and go from there.
A quick search found a thread with the APN settings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679892
Good luck.
Hello again and once again thank you.I tried what you said for APN,but it didn't work.Is there anything else?!?

Try to flash another Radio. I never had luck with KF1, and quite frankly it kept me from getting any service at all for like 2-3 reboots after.
Try KD1, or KB3 (those work for me).
Reboot a few times, and see if it works.

Hi,
I am facing a similar issue. My Nexus S is running on 4.0.3 with baseband version I9023XXKI1 (Got it in UK, unable to use it in India). No matter what SIM I insert it stays in Out of service mode. Can you please suggest which Radio version I can flash to get rid of this issue? Please help!!
Hi, check this thread, it may help you:

So I have a note 3 sm-n900p I want to flash if needed to Assurance Wireless that is through Virgin Mobile through Sprint. The phone they gave me is a ANS UL40 that takes a sim card. I don't know if it is a GSM hybrid or what. If I do not have a sim installed in it, it says no service. So here is what I have tried on the note 3. Stock rom installed MJ4 modem sim unlocked. TWRP and rooted. Also tried ssu.apk region lock away.apk. ssu crashes and region lock says ok. Also have tried custom rom's (many) with or without MJ4 modem. Also did the *#0011# and changed settings to menu > key input > Q,
menu > back,
menu > key input > 0000.
Wait for about 20 seconds then a menu will appear. Once the menu appears go to:
>UE SETTING & INFO
>SETTING
>PROTOCOL
>GCF
>GSM/(E)GPRS/WCDMA GCF ON
Either way I still get on any of these changes no sim or sim card not detected or sim card has locked reboot phone.
Also have tried DFS tool and change all info to what I get off the other phone Like IMEI and such, still same. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get the note 3 to take the sim card on assurance wireless? I have tried so many roms and so many ways of flashing with no luck. I have sim unlocked this phone before and it worked on Tag Mobile which is through T-mobile. Please give me any suggestions on what to do, will try anything. Thanks
Also forgot to mention I have used HLTE and HLTESPR roms and modems still no luck
Hope u figure out. I have same exact two phones. Even versions are same. I will be trying a few things later today keep you posted.
Assurance Wireless sux. Need I say more. Going to another carrier.......
Did you ever find a way to root your ANS UL40? I have one myself, & haven't found any way to do so.
HELP!!!
is there a way to flash assurance wireless to samsung galaxy note 4/ android oreo 8.1/lineage OS version?
After updating to the latest update, android 11 global for poco f2 both my sim card slots have been turned off.
When i try to turn on sim1 it tells me that only 1 sim card can have 5g enabled and to change my network settings.
Unfortunately none of the slots wont turn on so i cant change the network settings for either sim.
Have tried putting in 1 sim and restarting, in either slot 1 or 2 the sim slot still wont turn on.
Is there any other way to do it other than a factory reset?
I have same problem with you. I cannot turn on sim card 1 or 2. İt is very weird problem. Did u solve the problem ?

Yeap i did it. I had another bugs after the update. But factory reset fixed all of them
This version (stable BETA) in android 11 has multiple bugs. Many prefer to revert to the previous version.

Great,! Wish I'd bloody read this thread before I updated. At least I know now, it's not just me. Unfortunately, for me at least, I'm on stock & haven't modded, unlocked bootloader, rooted or flashed anything at all. Does anyone know if Xiaomi's backup utility is any good or shall I not bother before I factory reset?. Cheers.
I recently bought a used Samsung Galaxy S10 (SM-G973F).
At first glance the phone was in excelent shape. The SIM Card was connecting to the mobile network, and calls, internet connection, etc was OK.
But then, I found out that the phone had been rooted. Probably, by the seller. In pannic, I rushed to unroot flashing the stock Rom.
Here what I did:
1- Forgot to check my precisly CSC code and assumed ZTA (cause I'm from Brazil, and the phone is from carrier "Claro")
2- Downloaded the stock rom using Frija
3- Using Odin 3.14.1 flashed the device.
The previous rooted system was on Android 10 and One UI 2.5. With this new rom went to Android 11 and One UI 3.0.
The problem:
The phone recognizes the SIM Card. But it simply doesn't connect to the network. When I try to make a call it says: " not registered on network"
The phone DO recgonizes the SIM Card. On the SIM Card Manager shows my carrier name (Vivo) and my phone number. Also, the SIM app is showing on the app list.
Things I tried:
Rebooting the phone
Changin the SIM Slot
Testing the SIM on another device to ensure it was working
Checked if the IMEI wasn't missing/undefined. It is not, the IMEI appears to be untouched
Checked if the IMEI had been blacklisted. It's not.
Flashed SEVERAL different stock ROMS with different CSC (ZTO, ZTA, ZVV)
Try to manually select the network. This also throws an error saying "error while searching for network"
I'm really desperate and don't know what to do anymore.
No one have a clue either? :C
Look inside here:
How to Fix 'Not Registered on Network' on Android
Here is how to fix 'Not Registered On Network' error on Android. Mostly error occurs on Samsung phones, but this solution works for all android phones.
www.android-recovery.net
Wow,
This is exactly like my S10 right now.
At first, all is good, the signal was great, all working well, except cant connect to samsung pass and samsung health because it was root.
then i brought to sellular shop service, to flash the phone.
Then, “not registered to network” happened. The signal ok, the phone able to read dual simcard, but “emergency call only” and if i try to search network manually, “error while searching for network”
And the sellular shop service have no idea how to fix after they reflashed and try to fix it for several days.
Have you found any solution to fix your pho?
pls advice…

So, were you able to find a solution for this problem? I also bought a Note 9 N960F/DS recently and found out it was actually a N960N model that was changed to N960F/DS. So I did exactly what you did, I flashed the original stock rom, N960N, but now phone will not connect to network. I also did hard reset, reflash other stock roms, nothing changed. Anybody with insight should please give us some pointers.
purchasing a korean phone (in my case s10 5G U+) sim unlocked, the sim card was working good, after updating to the latest march update the sim worked for about one hour then a crossed circle appeared on the top. and no sim card can be read.
what does it mean ? what should I do ?
is it locked or a software issue ?

I don't know if you've already tried this but, try backing up the data that you want to save from your device, then boot into to recovery and choose factory reset, when the factory reset finishes, wipe the cache partition while in recovery then reboot the device.
Contact customer support for your mobile carrier and tell them that you lost service after the update was applied, then see if there is anything they can do from within their system to restore your cellular/network connection. If they mention sending you a new SIM, tell them no and that you will try to fix it first and then if it doesn't work you will accept a new SIM from them. Try finding a different solution before you resort to getting a new SIM because the issue might not even be the SIM but it's worth trying to see if they can do anything before you start trying to find software/flashing solutions that you can do yourself.
If you flashed the update yourself, you might have used an update for a different region. If this is what you did, you need to find the update for your model number and for your specific region, country or carrier. Or you can flash just the modem img or bin file that has been extracted from a firmware update that is for your region, country or carrier.
If that doesn't work. Try flashing the firmware version that you had before the update was applied.
