Ubuntu Touch on Nexus 5? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, not sure if this has been asked already but I couldn't find it if it has.
Anyhow, does anyone know if Ubuntu Touch is coming for the Nexus 5? Or maybe more importantly, if anyone is working/planning on working on it? I was using Ubuntu Touch on the Nexus 4 and I began to prefer it to Android in the end.

I think the answer to this question can best be given by the folks working on Ubuntu Touch. I assume they have a forum or other ways to contact devs.

Touch for WM5?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask a question but before I ask, I would like to thank all developers here who make my phone life so much better.
Anyway, I currently am interested in the Touch ROM or a program for TOUCHFLO for my Windows Mobile 5 device. I am currently using a Samsung i730 on the Verizon Network. Is a ROM or program out there that can give me the touch interface found on the HTC Touch?
Thank you in advance.
The TOUCH has a different touch screen that is optimised for fingers. I've tried using touchFLO on my Mogul and found it to be cumbersome.

Thanks.

No..
This is the first time I will say this but, if you really like Windows Phone 7, sell your Android device and get a Widows Phone 7 device. Best choice you can make
Yes. If not.... can someone enlighten me?
It will just take a lot of work and won't be near feasible to even support. Cellphone adoption rate says its better to just go buy the phone.

It's technically possible if the phone is using a Snapdragon processor, but so far no one has figure out how to hack the Windows Phone bootloader onto those devices.
So no or at least not currently.
No, because wp7 and android uses another hardware.

You meant to attach any link?
i belive it's called launcher 7, it's ok but not great. So far the only device that has had the WP7 OS ported to it has been the HD2 because 1.) it had a partial internal build from HTC, and 2.) the HD2 has probably the largest community support of any device aside from the iPhone.
Thanks for your quick response.
I do think the OP asked about OS not theme
So from what I understand my Galaxy ain't gonna eat WP7 and that's something that's neva gonna happen.

Windows 8 RT?

Hi,
do you think it will be possible to install windows 8 RT (windows 8 arm processors version) like new Samsung Ativ?
Is there some dev interested to do this?
No... You're asking to install ios on android or vice versa... No drivers and different file structures, not to mention hardware difference, don't allow us to run win8 on an android device. This question has been asked since the galaxy tab7" gen 1 (and win 7) came out. I haven't seen it on that yet and that device is quite a few years old now...
Why would you want to? I see no true advantage by doing this.

If Samsung makes Ativ tablet with arm processor and windows 8 RT somebody can prefer it to android!
I love Android but i'd like to try Windows 8 RT, i repeat RT, on my GNote 10.1.
I don't think to be the only one
Me, I would also like to test it.
And to be honest: things like this is why we are here,or am I wrong?

Me too
I'm on xda for mods and tests
Will never be possible.
RT needs a min resolution of 1366×768

Damn, i didn't know it. We've got a problem.
Can this thread open new ways? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960034
Any discussion on this is futile. Microsoft has already made it clear that it will only make Win 8 RT available to OEM's.

Mix of Windows and Android at one device?

Hi guys! I was just wondering if there are any devices which can run both Windows and Android operating systems, with a keyboard like Asus Transformer?
Welcome, do you know how many times this very question has been asked? Close to one billion times.
To date the HTC HD2 and the HP Touch Pad are the two I can think of off hand. The Touch Pad is a tablet is probably more capable of using a keyboard but both should be able to if you can get the right bluetooth drivers.
One problem. Can't run Windows and Android at the same time. It may be possible to dual boot though.

Thanks, I just want something like dell used to do, where you could switch between OS. Cause I would love to have all of my devices on one Android OS so it would be easy to syncronize stuff, but I don't think that I can survive without Windows OS on my laptop))) and I'm not a big fan of Windows Phones, so that is the problem)))

Ubuntu Tablet on TF300t?

Hey guys I've been in and out of the transformer forums mainly because I like where I'm at on my tf300. But since the release of Ubuntu tablet, I was thinking, Could our tablet support a port (or direct build) of Ubuntu tablet?

yes, but its still in its early development phases so you'll have to wait a while.
Yep you really can't have it yet. You can install vanilla Ubuntu or many other distros though. Heck put Backtrack on it and you'll have a sweet network tool.

Might be easier than you think
One of the reference platforms for Ubuntu Tablet Edition is the Nexus 7. The TF300T is essentially the same hardware. Heck, even the screen resolution is the same even though it's physically bigger. I plan on giving it a go myself just to see what happens

Hi I've just tried this using VMware Workstation and the pass-thru works find but Linux knows your device is TF300 so it doesn't let you install it.
Guess we are going to have find a way to make Ubuntu think your device is a Nexus 10 to install
Can you just edit the build.prop to trick it into thinking its a Nexus 7? I have done this on my Note 2 in order ti get PS Touch.
