Touch for WM5? - General Topics

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask a question but before I ask, I would like to thank all developers here who make my phone life so much better.
Anyway, I currently am interested in the Touch ROM or a program for TOUCHFLO for my Windows Mobile 5 device. I am currently using a Samsung i730 on the Verizon Network. Is a ROM or program out there that can give me the touch interface found on the HTC Touch?
Thank you in advance.

The TOUCH has a different touch screen that is optimised for fingers. I've tried using touchFLO on my Mogul and found it to be cumbersome.

Expanded answer is No......no......no.......
WM is not a simple app like Office, it is written into the rom.
Lol thank you for the verification. Guess ill just have to wait.

New HTC HD2 user.

I recently upgraded my phone to HTC HD2. My phone before was Samsung Omnia i900. My problem is I'm not liking the keyboards (only 3 keyboards) on the HD2, I keep making many mistakes. On the Omnia I think there were 5 or 6 different keyboards. The keyboard I used the most on the Omnia was, Samsung Phonepad, I found it very easy to use. My question: Is it possible to have this keyboard on the HTC or something similar?
Or if anyone can recommend another keyboard I would be very grateful.
Thx

Hi and welcome to XDA.
There is a phonekeypad available, why not use that? alternativly, look for finger keyboard, Resco keyboard, or even spb keybard. they are good ones.
touchpal is the best, i use it and rarely make a mistake

Convert HTC EVO to windows mobile 6.5

Is there a way I can convert a HTC EVO to run on windows mobile 6.5? I don't like the andriod OS and currently have Sprint.
It's highly doubtful you will see this, and if you do.. It's going to be awhile.
I will have to stick with the HTC touch pro 2 for now

Given all the problems I've been having with Android in just the first 2 days, I'd be interested in this option as well.

Short: no!
Andoid is really meant for a touchscreen device..making it to work
without most likely involve significant effort.. (Source)

But it seems back in 2008 there was a demo that shows that it is possible: "Non-touchscreen Android Phone Demoed at CTIA"
But why you want that "dirty" walk around? I like WM6.1 very much!

Yes and no is not an answer its a strange response. The answer is it has been done but most developers here prefer working on high end phones.
Take a look at this post, Motorola just brought out a phone that does exactly that. As for popular non touch WM phones like Samsung S7550 and HTC snap.. they are just waiting for someone who wants some recognition and is not scared of the challenge.
http://www.androidpeople.com/worlds-first-non-touch-android-phone/
As for your comment on WM 6.1, its the most app unfriendly system around making developnent difficult. Just try android and you will see what i mean.
To the Chefs: get ready, nontouch android should be with us soon if one of you hasn't already gotten hold of a build.
Somebody have now B7330 with android OS?
It is possible to make this?
Thnks.
What are possible (custom) roms, please advice :good:
It's a old phone but there must be nice rom's & apps for it, or not?
so please give you're opinion about this B7330 Samsung Phone!!

WP7 is radically different to WM6.5. For most this is a good thing, however I actually wasn't a fan due to it having nowhere the the customisation of WM6.5. If you just need a smartphone that does everything and doesn't let you tinker with a whole lot but looks good, try WP7. If you like lots of options and playing around with everything, go with Android.
The HD7 is nice, but you have have your cake and eat it too if you get a HD2. The HD2 runs WM6.5 natively, but WP7 has been ported to it, as has Android. So you really don't have to choose if you don't want to. That said, the DHD is a nice handset.
Good luck, and welcome to XDA
Id buy a lg optimus 2x because of its specs compared to these phones
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App

The HD7 is limited to WP7 only. To switch to Android, you'd need to buy a HD2. It's an older design, but based on exactly the same hardware as the HD7. The HD2 can run WM6.5, WP7, Android, Ubuntu and even MeeGo. In terms of flexibility, the HD2 is unbeatable thanks to a lot of dev support. There are versions available that will work on any 3G network worldwide.
so last question plz
if i will get the desireHD do u think that it is better then HD7???

On the DHD, you will have access to the entire Android market. So yes, there are lots of free apps and games.
You will not be able to install WP7 on the DHD. If WP7 is necessary for you, go for a HTC HD2.
thank ou for your help
