Baseband Version Lost - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a factory flash back to stock on my Nexus 5 and now I have no Baseband, I have downloaded the radio image but I don't know the "procedure/commands" for flashing the image. could anyone please help!

Look in the general section. One of the stickies will help.
Sent from the jaws of my Hammerhead!

Thank-you for the reply but I cant seem to find the command for flashing.

It should be "fastboot flash radio filename.img"

[Q] No Lockscreen/Power Menu, Amongst Other Problems...

Okay, so I've been pretty flash-happy the past few days, especially with the release to UCLD2 and stuff, but after the last few flashes I've noticed that I've lost my power menu and my lockscreen does not activate. I've already searched around and tried many methods of fixing it, but I may have been digging my hole deeper...
I've tried pasting keystr into /efs/imei, but no for some reason when I try creating a file in /efs/imei in Root Explorer it doesn't even show up...
I also tried using the terminal method, but whenever I type the line "echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr" it returns an Input/Output Error.
I'm really confused on what to do, files seem to be not appearing where they should be and I'm kinda worried, I like this phone so much! If anybody can help me out, I'd be greatly appreciated, and I can provide any files/info that is needed.

It was already said in another thread that I read that ODIN and CWR do not touch the /efs partition, thus making it useless to ODIN restore.

sorry x, I think ur wrong on this one. I had the issue and it was very frustrating. OP, I recommend the following. Odin back to stock and root 2.3.5. Then use the keystr method from within root explorer. Make sure it sticks then flash ics

That was from the note radio when that happened to you?
I had flashed the note radio, since I was having trouble with UCLD2... That's probably what did it. I'm gonna give icenight's method a shot and see how it goes.

yup that radio futzed with my phone. I only stumbled upon the solution in the t989 forum by sheer luck. i was actually just gonna warranty the phone
Im having the same problem and I can confirm that going back to stock doesn't solve the problem. What is this "keystr method"? Did the OP get it to work?

[Q] Flashing bootloader in ODIN

When flashing the bootloader in ODIN does the phone bootloader update box need to be checked or just flash the bootloader using the pda slot only?

It should flash either way, as long as you have it in the pda slot. Check it just in case, it won't hurt anything.

Thank you for the reply brother. I got it. What i was doing was getting ready to flash remics 1.3 I got it going no problems. Actually it took me maybe an hour to fully complete and 4 or 5 hrs reading and more reading prior...along with my wife taking notes...just wanted all steps right the first time.

Does flashing only the bootloader in Odin erase any data or settings? Or does it only affect the bootloader and nothing else on the phone?

it's a little bit different
the new ODINs have a button named BL - I thought the logical thing would be using it when flashing bootloader... but couldn't find the right answer if it's appropriate to use that button. All I could find was to choose AP for any purposes.

Edit: I see.
At any rate, only use the ODIN that comes with the appropriate package, as each ODIN version can be tailored to the device.

[Q] flash Newest cellular radio 1.08.01.0111

here is a question.
how do you flash Newest cellular radio 1.08.01.0111 when your volume up button does not work at all?
Does your volume down work? If you're just talking about navigating the bootloader menu then you're fine. When you press down at the last menu item it cycles back to the top.

You don't need to send fastboot commands you just load PG06IMG.zip on the root of your sdcard and boot into bootloader.

Is your volume button broken ?
That would drive me nuts! If that happened to me I would ruu and send the phone in...

yes, broken on the board. so it blows trying to use the phone... the ****tards at sprint where suppose to call me over a week ago with a new replacement phone. still no call. i am about to go to another sprint store and have them give me a new phone...
You could try calling Sprint directly over the phone. Sometimes ( Not always ) you get better results that way.

If it's a hardware issue and you are returning it to Google (not LG) then I doubt you need to do anything. I had a USB port issue and was rooted, with custom recovery and kernel and had no issues on getting a replacement.

[Q] Softbricked sch-I535?

Samsung galaxy SCH-I535, rooted, stock rom (im pretty sure it was 4.3), Power button removed. The other day I was driving, I had my phone sitting on the passenger seat, checked the time everything was fine on the phone. Checked my phone again about 20 mins later and nothing, black screen. I knew the battery was full and I didn't have a charger to turn it back on (no power button) so I forgot about it until I got home. When I got home I went to turn it on ( hold down home + vol down while plugging it in.) pops up into download menu and I hit cancel and back to battery charge mode. I recently changed out the screen (after I removed the power button) so i thought maybe some loca glue got into the power button contacts on the board. I tore it down and thoroughly cleaned out my frame and board, put back together and now it will boot into download mode, hit cancel, popps up with samsung galaxy s3, then the samsung splash screen, then the verizon splash screen, then back to black screen/charge mode at that point every time. I can get into download mode but if I try to get into recovery it just vibrates every 5 sec or so on a black screen until I release a button then goes to charge mode. I am downloading stock firmware I535VRUCNC1 right now and plan to flash with ODIN am I on the right track or could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks to all XDA has saved me multiple times in the past this is the first time I have posted and I'm sure you guys can help a noob out again THANKS ALL!!
Ok So I tries to flash both ML1 and NC1 also with a re-partition via ODIN 3.07 with a fail every time.... Finally got ML1 to flash but now it bootloops at the galaxy s3 logo again.... frustrated still cant get into recovery
If Odin is failing every time your more than likely on the locked bootloader. If so you cannot flash any custom roms which is why it isn't working
Sent from my Cataclysm Nexus 5
I am not flashing any custom roms.... both of the roms I am trying to flash (NC1 and ML1) are both stock 4.3 roms....
I'm pretty sure I am on a locked bootloader I never did anything with safestrap or never tried a custom rom. on a side note when I used to boot my phone up it showed a picture of an unlocked lock and said custom under it (never sure why it did this unless maybe rooting with towelroot) but it no longer shows this icon when boot(looping)

If your on NC1 you cannot flash ML1 as it's the previous rom/modem. You'll have to flash back to NC1 using Odin. Even if it is stock what your trying to do will not work

Tried Flashing the stock recovery as well there is a .tar file on here I just don't want to look around for the link right now. If you have supersu there's an option to unroot within the app but off hand I forget if its only in the pro version or not. I'll look around to find another option

4.4.2 flashed successfully.... still bootlooping tho... when I try to get into recovery it popps up in blue "booting recovery" then it goes back to the galaxy s3 logo then back to charge mode... Im not sure but it seems to be the power button causing this since it is the power button you hit to execute commands in recovery (I think)... but since the power button is removed it looks like im back to finding a new board
