Hey guys,
Not sure what has happened to my note. I remember I only charged it overnight and in the morning I tried to turn it on and it stuck in the SAMSUNG NOTE 10.1 booting screen. So I did a quick search and I pressed power button + vol up button. After trying it a few times without any luck, my note suddenly went to this state (TV noise like - see pic). I could not do anything to it. Could anyone help me with this please? I am pretty noob in android device and never done any rooting and stuffs but pretty handy with PC. Thanks guys. Any help would be really appreciated.
sorry potato quality

Anyone? urgently need help here
It has a hardware failure. Take it to the service centre.

not sure, I think it's either power off from a drained battery or just home screen. I charged it overnight and it couldn't be turned on anymore in the next morning.

Similar to my daughter's 8010. It kept freezing and would sometimes show a screen like that. Samsung replaced the Motherboard in the end.

If you're out by just a month or 2 I'd claim expected warranty. In Oz if the warranty is out by a small amount you can get it fixed under warranty because it is expected that the item will still be running outside the warranty period. It's ridiculous to have an item fail just out of warranty. It is expected to work for a while longer, not quit a week or month after the warranty ends...

My trusty HTC Sensation XE running ViperS 2.0.2 (S-Off) just died on me.
Last thing i did was charge the battery and it suddenly died. The phone did not come into contact with water and didn't fall. The led light doesn't even turn on when the charger is connected. Luckily my wife has the exact same phone so i could test some things. The charger works fine on her phone. Swapped the batteries and her battery does not work in my phone. My battery works fine in hers. So it must be something with the phone itself.
I've read a lot of stuff on the internet today, but nothing has helped so far. Things i tried:
Booting to recovery (Vol down + Power) does nothing.
Connected the phone to my PC, Doesn't even get detected.
Remove SIM, SD and try to boot (normally and recovery), nothing
If anyone has any ideas i would be grateful to hear them.
I would try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351
Hi Shantur. Thanks for the quick reply. I will try this when i get home. Seems promissing.
Hi Shantur, just tried the guide to unbrick my phone. Unfortunantly my phone does not get detected. I tried 2 different PC's and even tried disabling automount like the guide states, but nothing. (See screenshot) I used the Latest Ubuntu 14.04 btw.
Any other thoughts ?

try this
remove simcard,sdcard and battery
charge the device as it is for 4-5 hours and put them back
switch on the device and see if you have results
Hi rzr86, I will try that. So the phone just needs to be attached to the power? It won't be charging if there's no battery. Just making sure...

it charges the device somewhere internally
i don't remember what exactly
I removed the battery, sim and sd card earlier yesterday morning. It had been lying around for hours without power. I connected it to the power supply and left it there for about 9 hrs. After putting everything back, the phone is still dead. Unless anyone has another idea, I'm afraid it's just paperweight...

what about jtag?
Hi Rzr86, I had a quick google for jtag, and it looks like it requires special hardware. I don't know if this is something worth doing myself or if there are any phoneshops here in the Netherlands that could do that.

if you don't have knowledge do not attempt it
just search a local shop which has the jtag machine
but know this
it may cost you a lot
Hi Rzr86,
Thanks for the info. I'm afraid the phone just isn't worth the costs any more to get it fixed.
I already had a backup plan.. It's my wife's birthday today and she really wants an iPhone. So i'm getting her one so i can get her Senation XE
Seemed like a better investment than fixing my own phone and getting her a crappy gift...
Thanks for all the help !!

Having a very strange issue since upgrading to Android L -- thought I solved it switching to franco kernel -- but after 2 days it seems to have popped back up.
Randomly phone will be completely unresponsive via power button or any other means -- I can tell it is still doing things because the battery gets drained (incredibly quickly) and I see notification LED flashing when there are notifications. Only way to fix this is hard rebooting (power+vol down)
Oddly, when I look at the battery AFTER reboot this is how it looks (the empty area is during the lock up)

I initially thought this may be the sensor issue, but with the battery drain I am starting to think its something else (maybe memory leak?).
Anyone else facing this issue or have any insight on how to fix this?

have tried that a few times with no success. Problem only occurs in 5.0+ -- do not have this issue on 4.4 when i switch back over.
I have a similar problem with the phone turning off randomly and then in restart I've lost approx 50% or more battery life. If I turn the phone on and leave it alone for a few hours the battery slowly increases back to where it should be as if the phone can't read the stats right. I was going to sell up and buy a new phone but I love my Nexus and then remembered that Playstore Nexus devices have 2 yra warranty, even if you side load OTA updates.
I'm RMAing my phone with a replacement coming next week. Google confirmed that it was faulty but I suspect it's software and not hardware. To be fair the problem started with 5.0 and got worse with 5.0.1 and a cache delete and hard reset has not fixed it.
Can't wait for 5.1 in Feb but I'm sure there will be other bugs!

I called Google about something similar happening and they told me that if it was related to battery, the battery was only warratied for a year and they couldn't help me as it was out of warranty. Maybe I'll emphasize the restarting part.

It seems to definitely be a software issue -- if i downgrade to 4.4 the problem doesn't exist.
This is what people are complaining about with the "memory leak".
Reboot your phone nightly (while it's charging perhaps) and these issues will not appear. Otherwise, it might reboot on its own eventually anyways.
As you suspected, it's a software issue and nothing to do with the battery. The battery level changing drastically like that is common anytime the phone crashes or reboots itself and will calibrate itself eventually.
Google will RMA for software issues like this just to keep the customer happy but that won't help you in the long run, better to keep your non-refurbished device.
Hello! I am here sharing a problem with my LG Volt, I changed the ROM recently for about 2 weeks, so I was all happy with my cell phone, until now, out of nowhere (I did not drop it), my cell phone started to give this bizarre glitch, which leaves it without any condition of use...

I don't think this is about the screen or touchscreen sensor damage, because I didn't drop it this cellphone any time in about 1 month. And there's no sign of cracks and typical broken LCD crystal blurred spots.
If you guys have any hints, about what problem it may be, I accept answers.

I would try flashing the stock firmware, if that doesn't fix it, then it's more than likely caused by hardware damage of some kind for whatever reason.

I tried, but the upload mode, is not working, the screen flashes like that, even in the boot. I think this is about hardware too, but i don't think is about of any kinda of damage, it's just the flat cable connecting the screen with the motherboard that is somewhat loose. Because this morning, when I unplugged the charger after at least 10 hours, the screen showed up normally, but when I shaked a little bit the phone, it died, and it started the screen glitch.
*Edit: And the cellphone is with the stock ROM. (I just reflashed with the original exactly ROM)
I have a problem. Due to frustration, I hit my Redmi Note 7 pro to the edge of my bed . This made a dent in the phone. And now the phone is dead. Unable to fastboot. Not charging. Its completely dead. Tried to Unbrick but the mobile is not detected by Adb bootloader too when connected to PC. Any sort of help would be appreciable. Thank you.
Maybe socket battery not connected (displace)

I am not sure about that ,but before the incident happened , it was charged. Also holding power button or "power+ vol up'" button doesnt show anything. If it was battery issue, I believe atleast the mobile would have turned ON for a second

well it depends on where the dent is on the phone if the dent is at upper portion (near camera)
then it is probably dead motherboard and even it was on the battery side (around "REDMI" logo)
then there is high chance that your device's battery will get punctured and it will caught fire or something
worse and it is also applicable to front side of phone. but there might be a chance that from the dent only
the screen has stopped working, in that case you can replace the screen and it will be fine.

Thank you for your kind reply. This was helpful . By your explanation I suspect that the mother board is dead. And for clarification I have attached the pic and highlighted the effected part. Is there any solution for this? What can I do if mother board is dead?

Few days back I was charging my phone, suddenly it stopped charging at 5%, I can't tell i the charger shook or not but I just turned it off and continued charging. It normally shows the Samsung logo while charging but for some reasons unknown to me it didn't, I didn't think much of it until I tried to turn it on, it turned on without displaying anything and I quickly heard my notifications dropping but my phone was just blank, what could've the problem and how can I fix it pleas
What model of Samsung do you have?
Have you tried a different charger and/or cable?
Have you cleaned the USB port?

What I'd try as a repairmen is first reseat the ribbon cable / replace the display and check... but given they tried replacing ic chip now the phone is even harder to diagnose... you can't trust them that they soldered the chip correctly
There are MANY posts with samsung phones and dead displays... Seems to be a firmware bug, present across their whole lineup

TBH that sounds like a load of bovine excrement. These shops replace batteries, mainboards, and display panels all the time. One of those is the problem. If they can't get the parts, that's one thing; but if they simply tell you they can't fix it, I call bull. It probably won't be cheap, but they should be able to.
