Would it be helpful for testers to report bugs here?

After some Googling it looks like I need to update my CWM, gonna try that next. Glad I did a backup.
Edit:
After CWM update it flashes correctly!

I suppose it would, especially if not currently on the list in the OP. Although, keep in mind that the team is not yet ready to go into full support mode for these builds yet. This is just a preview of what we are working on.

Yes. The one currently linked in the CM wiki, http://cmw.cmfs.me/apexqtmo/apexq_recovery-10.2.img works. You were trying it with the old CM 10.1 recovery. This is far too old.

If I flash from rom manager then I have also the latest recovery, right ?
couldn't restore my backup with recovery (maybe bad sd card issue).
edit: was a bad microsdcard !

Which recovery are you using? I do not know what version of recovery that ROM manager gets you. I've never used that. Please specifically flash a compatible recovery. Some time not long before the release of the recovery I linked, recovery could not access SD cards on the relay. The one linked is certified as compatible. If you're having trouble with your backup restore using that recovery, than it's likely a problem on your card or the backup set.

Actually, I can link to my personal one.

Once you install it, remember to go into advanced, and reboot to recovery so that you're using the newer one rather than your older one.
Also, everyone, it's been pointed out that I'm an idiot. I was using a ParanoidAndroid Gapps package, that was deleting Gallery2, and replacing it with GoogleGallery. When using the correct Gallery app, video recording works fine.

Is it worth to install on wife phone, also how stable is the camera,

I'll point out where I say in the subject of the OP, this is a Pre-Alpha, and later in the thread where I said that the team is not quite ready to be in full support mode for this version, this is a preview release. The camera though is quite stable, so long as you are using the certified gapps linked by Nardholio, and also linked in the OP.

The rommanager's one is 6.0.3.8, but can't mount the sdcard (need external mSD-reader).
Why doesn't it work on my phone ? Strange :s

Difference between CWM and TWRP?

On my HOX I have TWRP installed. What is the difference between CWM and TWRP? Don't they do the same thing?
Most importantly, will CWM mods work with TWRP? (like the .zip ones) Also, what about de-odexing?
Sorry for all of the questions, I'm new to android modding.
Cwm is buggy. You can use twrp for everything and it's fine.

Alright so there are no downsides to using TWRP right? On this forum all I see is CWM on every thread

CWM is the most common recovery, cause its the oldest and most known. But, you can also tell its the oldest, as the UI is... Ugly, compared to TWRP. The "slide to confirm" function on TWRP is really nice IMO.
But yeah, when they say "CWM", they just mean a custom recovery.
Also, TWRP is officially supported on our devices, which is why its recommended above CWM.
Sent from my GT-N700 using Tapatalk 2
It's not 100% bug free but it is much more stable than cwm.
^That, and the TWRP tries to fix the bugs as they are presented.
Sent from my GT-N700 using Tapatalk 2
Good to note too that CWM nandroids are not restorable in TWRP. So all previous backups from CWM are useless once you change.

i have CWM on my one x, if i want to change it to TWRP, how would i do that? follow instruction on TWRP web site?? http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/99
I started out using CWM but switched because I use CleanRom and Scott suggested using TWRP. I just loaded it by downloading GooManager from google play and then following the install instructions. Worked fine for me...

You can just install TWRP right on top of CWM using a flashable TWRP zip, Goo Manager, or through fastboot.

Another point, the version of cwn for the HOX is an unofficial port and thus not supported. There is an official version of twrp for the HOX, which is reason enough to switch.

CWM was never officially released for our phone. It was a port from another version and isn't perfect. My experience with twrp has not shown me a single problem or even a hiccup.

Anyone else notice clockwork now sucks! Any good options now?

simply put, for as long as i can remember all i had to do is make a full backup, it was stored on my sd, then if i made an error somewhere or flashed a rom i did not like, all i had to do was open up old faithful clockwork and do a restore and everything was fine. well the last few revisions of clockwork have screwed me!
if i do a backup, flash a new rom, make any changes etc, when i want to do a restore in clockwork, guess what? NO RESTORE FILES!
the restore data always gets marked and sent to the LOST directory.
what the hell?
anyone know of any GOOD backup and/or recovery software? i have had it with clockwork!
this is the second time i am having to raw dump an sd card then manually convert the binary back to usable files just to recover important files!
cheers,
disco
You can try CW-Enhanced [v1.1b] by Dread 7 , or TWRP 2.3.1.0 touch Recovery .

I like the touch interface, the way the menus are laid out. Being able to select what to back up and restore (idk if you can do that on clockwork because I haven't used it in ages lol) and queuing multiple zips to flash right after another.

With CWM you can select what to restore. But you cannot choose multiple zips to flash.

Did they fix the Sense flashing problem? I used v2 and the only way you could flash a Sense ROM was if it was under 215 MB... And believe me there isn't much Sense left @215 MB I only ever got the one to boot one on TWRP and then Dread came out with his and I have never used anything else.

he cleaned up the code and added in the superwipe feature from another recovery, i wanna say the amon-ra recovery but i cant remember. the superwipe goes up to a x5 wipe of all partitions and makes it easier to wipe before flashing new roms.
or were you asking me about twrp 2.3.1.0?

There's also one more recovery that you can try out if you have the chance, its called AmonRA. I can't say anything about it myself because I've never tried it, but you could give it a shot. I can also say that my favorite so far (haven't tried TWRP though, will soon) is dread's CWM enhanced recovery. Its very useful if your phone won't boot up but you can get into recovery as it let's you run terminal commands straight from there, it also has a very useful Superwipe feature which I think all recoveries should try to adopt/include.

Boot into recovery - While phone is off hold the Home, Volume Up and Power buttons until you see your recovery.
I can never seem to remember this. I always end up in "Samsung Download Mode" and panic.
I've flashed the CM build you've linked in this post, but my phone won't boot past the cycling blue CyanogenMod logo.
I've tried rebooting and waiting for periods of between 10 and 30 minutes with no different results.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

Also, a link to the GitHub page for TeamApexQ might be in order, since that's the official place to file bug reports.

thanks for the feedback.
original post updated.
Thread needs updates!
Hey, @kilr00y, can you update with the latest modem, and bootloader? (As they appear to be needed by the latest nightlies to work) -- you posted them in another thread here.
CWM out of date!
Also, can you update the CWMs you posted here? There is a newer ODIN flashable one (and also CWM flashable one) posted by @Nardholio here. It fixes a major bug -- if we use the one linked to and flash the latest nightlies we end up with all kinds of "0/0/0/0" folders on the root of our phones!

Really? Because, 6.0.2.8 is the newest I've seen. When I install the nightly zips from CWM, it appears unmodified, and the version # stays at 6.0.2.8. So... are we talking about the same thing?
(Also, when I install the latest nightlies with the older version of CWM, CWM does not upgrade to 6.0.2.8, either. It stays at the messed up older version. That's why when I flashed like 20 different roms I ended up with twenty nested /0/ folders -- upgrading to 6.0.2.8, wiping, and re-flashing fixed all that.)
Edit:
Okay, I responded too quickly; I re-read what you wrote, @Nardholio, -- so "recovery.img" contains CWM somehow? And it has a newer version than 6.0.2.8... and is updated daily? -- Is that correct?
How do you install a "recovery.img" file? When I click on "PDA" in ODIN 3 it only knows how to open *.tar, *.md5, and *.smd. So... what does one do with a "recovery.img" file?

You don't need odin 'If you have any previous cwm/recovery flashable zips.'
Simply replace the recovery.img from that old flashable recovery with one of latest from the nightly jenkins builds.
Then flash withing recovery.
(For every nightly you will see a 'recovery.img' file - download one of the latest, these are nightly cwm recovery builds.)
This was the method prescribed to me by lbcoder & nard when I was trying to upgrade my cwm from 6.0.2.8 to a more recent recovery (6.0.3.3)
Worked a treat.
Tip: once flashed in recovery, goto advanced and 'reboot into recovery' to ensure the flash worked and you do indeed have a new recovery (keep a note of the build number displayed in recovery at the top of the recovery screen.)
Very easy, enjoy

Also, can you update the CWMs you posted here? There is a newer ODIN flashable one (and also CWM flashable one) posted by @Nardholio here. It fixes a major bug -- if we use the one linked to and flash the latest nightlies we end up with all kinds of "0/0/0/0" folders on the root of our phones!

How do I remove the 0 folders without losing the contents of my phones memory? I figured they were linked folders but can't unlink them if I install the terminal because the command doesn't exist on the phone.

Where can I find a flash able cwm? Where can I get the latest recovery.img to put in the flash able cwm? I prefer the recovery flashable kind that way I don't have to plug it into my computer every time.

[RECOVERY] New CWM Recovery v6.0.4.8 for LG-P500 (CM11, CM10+) ROM flashable)

Hey guys... I just thought to post this new CWM Recovery v6.0.4.6 which support SELinux for device like LG-P500 (arm v6).
UPDATE: New recovery can flash all CM 10+ ROMs and CM 11.
This recovery has RAINBOW theme, Wana try press vol+ vol- button and then continuous press vol- and reclick back button. Enjoy KITKAT 4.4.2 and other CM 10+ ROMs on this CWM 6.0.4.6 recovery.
Update December 26, 2013:
recovery and format of sdext
Update Jan 16, 2014
Flash all CM10+ and CM11 ROMs
Backup restore problem solved (Linking Dexes and showing "zero' system space after boot)
___________________________________
Please 'HIT THANKS' if this really help you, Thanks meter encourage developer to work more enthusiastically
Very nice recovery. Did the trick for KitKat ROM.
Note however bug I found:
While previous 5.0.2.7 would fail to backup sd-ext, this one succeeds in doing so. Great.
However when restoring, sd-ext fails trying to format the (ext4) partition.
Word to wise: Backup sd-ext to PC before experimenting.
Note the 5.0.2.7, after a factory reset, left me with this partition unwritable so rather have it fail than bashup
could we ask one for P505?
thanks

I have a huge problem: the recovery installs only cm11! Any other Rom I try to flash(cm10.2) doesn't work! It says status 7 and something about device (get.prop.device .....)
Am I the only one having this problem??

I have the solution for this problem(ibub told me about it)
Just copy the assert statement(first lines in updater script) from kitkat roms to the rom you want to flash and everything should be fine.

I would suggest you 'Cygwin' tool for that, just find on xda forum, you will find linux command too..;:good:

Firstly I would like to thanks for your excellent work of this CWM Recovery As you suggested on the Android 4.3 thread I did install this recovery, flashed cm-11-UNOFFICIAL-20131216 with no error :good:, and kitkat booted on my p500 eventually :victory:  , as reported by others.
Brief review for Recovery
Bit laggy compare to v5.0.2.7, can not backup and restore sd-ext. (failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2. Error while formatting /sd-ext). It's the culprit kitkat failed to mount sdcard?
Request:
It"ll get 5 stars for touch version as v5.0.2.7 by vivekkalady. NotOnlyEyes provided touch (well, actually not fully touch from my opinion) version 6.0.4.5 but an error occur while flashing cm-11.
Anyway, thanks for the great works

Seems only laggy to get first menu, a couple of other places. Can live with that.
The failure to format is its own error, I believe. Saw commits about a fix.
The other error is that clearing Dalvik Cache also kills link2sd's on sd-ext. At least, this should be a option.
Generally, touch versions are more problematic, sometimes do not fit screen, etc. Better off as we are.
New Update: SDEXTRestore fixed :highfive:

TWRP 2.7.0.8 Unofficial

Mods feel free to move if this is in the wrong section.
This is an unofficial build of TWRP RECOVERY built from the latest twrp sources
I just compiled this out and it fixes the new fstab layout starting from tonight's Cyanogenmod build
Credit: Mdmower --> https://github.com/mdmower/twrp/tree/twrp-2.7.0.8
Download: http://d-h.st/kgR
Note: If after installing the recovery, it will not pass the screen TWRP:
Restart and boot normally (system), then with any file manager to delete this "/sdcard/TWRP/.twrps

Sorry, this thread isn't pretty, but whatever
Mdmower also compiled his...didn't notice lol
feel free to take either one, won't hurt my feelings, as long as it gets the job done

CM is having a new fstab layout for a number of devices. One of these changes include a by-name partition support (instead of say mmcblk0p33 called as "system"). you need this recovery to flash CM from today, and probably all 4.4.2 ROMs soon
That's the major change...other than that: adb fixes (big issue for me while trying to pull kmesg logs for Sense 6 building :fingers-crossed, LED fixes, dual core support, fix of backup and restoration of encrypted backups

Tried flashing, then tried booting both versions directly from fastboot and neither will completely boot for me. All I get is a flashing TWRP splash.

I did what Jose mentioned in the Pacman Kitkat thread as the fix to this--"Note: If after installing the recovery, it will not pass the screen TWRP
Restart and boot normally (system), then with any file manager to delete this "/sdcard/TWRP/.twrps"
It worked for me, and I had the same flashing TWRP screen issue as you.

I flashed this today and now my internal SD card doesn't mount. I'd be grateful for any assistance.

All you needed to do was read the last few posts in this thread for suggestions on what to do.

I flashed mine with Flash GUI Image. It worked flawlessly and TWRP is super smooth and stable. I couldn't use fastboot because my phone can't be recognized by my PC.

I'm sorry timmaaa, I'm not sure what you mean. When I use a file explorer on my phone, it says my internal storage sd card is unmounted.
