Why don't any of the AOSP roms have the 4.4 KitKat dialer icon? They still have the 4.3 jelly bean.
If anyone has some sort of an answer I'd love to hear it.

Because the Nexus 5 ROM is different from AOSP. It's the 'Google Experience' version of Android!

Nope - No Touchwhiz rom however you can flash this touchwhiz addon(UX) file to get GS3 look. It is for GS1 but i was able to flash it on my Nexus S Running Code Name Android Rom and it worked.

Flash a JB Rom?
You would have to flash a jellybean rom since its based off of the jellybean framework.
I know, I'm using Synergy Rom now and I love it because it's very stable. I did have the jb on my gnex and its the best android experience I've ever had. I tried most of the jb roms and I constantly have issues.
I've put apex launcher on top of synergy along with Google wallet and Google now, all I'm missing now is the notification bar. Oh well, I guess I'll wait.

Does anyone know about progress on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean ports for our beloved Nexus S? Will it be possible? I read earlier today that Google is not supporting the Nexus S anymore, so does that mean that the ROMs will be slightly buggier (lacking camera functionality, etc.)?
I'm honestly getting slightly jealous about looking at the Galaxy Nexus forum and all of the new ROMs being produced...
GAPPS is needed before any sort of porting starts.. The gapps package needed to run 4.2 is a far departure from 4.1.2. So.. It's a waiting game for a 4.2 GAPPs package.
For me at least..

4.2.2 is the latest I've heard. Has there been any talk about a major Android upgrade, like 5.0? Seems since Apple is doing a major upgrade IOS7, Google/android might want to just for marketing.

Well, pandaapp has an article about a leaked 4.3 JB rom, but thats only for Galaxy s4 (atm)
