**currently this is only available at it will be out to the public in 3-...CLOSED AWAITING PUBLIC RELEASE VERSION OF ROM
I don't hate you!
Do we just install this through custom recovery then?
OH I see, so what if we dont go back to stock with odin?
I see two different versions here.
Can you tell me what's the difference in two? I know one is over clocked one by the name but I want to know what does other one does..
Thanks,

The other one has the Andromeda Kernel.
im really hoping we get something soon like the htc's have......(get roms via rom manager) and not have to go thru this backdoor route for a custom recovery image!!!
mmmmm, think I'll wait a few days more....not sure I want to create work for myself just yet on my fresh stock rom w/root....
So far so good does have some boot problems which he stated but havent found anything else yet

All you have to if you are on the stock rom is extract the zip and run the bat script and you are good to go. It is very easy to do. And restoring from odin is just as easy. It is what I recommend but it should work without

Hey Hero, just wondering if your kernel gets along with the new update that came out today?
Do you have full rom for members or this kernel is it?If so does this kernel change theme also? And whats the difference between andromeda posted on xda and the one you have posted on here?
Thanx in advance.
Was wondering the same thing, will this work with DI07?

lol there is a lot of differences. it is faster has better battery life and overclocks to 1.2 ghz. the frameworks have been optimized for more performance and battery. also there is a lot of theming to remove samsungs ugly colors. it is not just a kernel. it is a rom that instead of flashing moves files in place.
I've this section and there are so many ROMs to choose from along with kernels.
Any precautions I should take first before installing a recovery, custom ROM, kernel and root?
Any recommendations for a custom recovery and lollipop ROM please? Preferably with camera raw support?
Any kernels with overclocking?
Thanks
Try cataclysm last. You're unlikely to change again.

Back up your EFS. Put the backup someplace off the device.
Read all the stickies.
Flash away.
Thanks all

No idea but I don't see why not. Most people including myself use ElementalX. Not much wrong with stock, I just like to tinker.
Hello, I've tried various custom lollipop roms in the past few months and they all had problems. My personal observation is that the stock rom has always been more stable and superior and that I could not see any real functionality benefit with custom roms...Perhaps prism is the best one compared to all others.
Am I the only person here who has reached this conclusion?
Yes

You are right, if you have life out of your mobile phone then stock ROM is the best otherwise waste your life in never ending process of flashing and modding your phone......lolz. There will be a stage when you'll be happy that CM12.1 is half stable but then Android M will be out.
the stock ROM is much stable but it not so fast like custom, anyways you can try to use a custom for a while and decide what is the best for you
I also experienced that in costom always has a bugs... I using stock firmware together with Nova Launcher...
Stock here - 5.0.1 stable, smooth and fast. Don't see any point in changing.... And I used to be a big modder!
I tried cm 12.1 and returned to stock because it bored me. It didn't give me what I wanted. It's a bit overestimated. Rooting and flashing makes me addicted to phone. Never ending process. Always wanting more. Stick to original and enjoy.
Yes I agree with you till some point. Till now I have tried almost every rom out there for my 9505, but almost always I am coming back to stock. According to me and the current situation there are only two custom roms that are really providing stock stability and I have seen not a single bug, so they can be daily drivers. They are the current version of Danvdh's gpe rom (with the couple of the previous ones I had minor issues. At least after LP came out) and the second and the one where I have never experienced any single bug in no single version of it (LP or KK), and that is the TW rom from iB4stid (sadly he will not develop for 9505 anymore), goldeneye (and also goldenfinger in the time of KK). However goldeneye is almost same as stock so maybe thats why I like it.
The benefit that I see from using the goldeneye despite stock rom is that you can always use the latest rom relased but again stiching to the modem version of the operator that I am using my phone with (I do not have good experience with flashing separate modem packages), with that taking the best of both worlds. In this situation you have the modem that works best with your carrier and the latest base from samsung that has the same stability as the stock one.
Danvdh' gpe rom is good for me when I am tired from TW but again having very very stable and fast rom. Ive even have better battery life and I can say it is the snappiest rom out there. It is beyond Goldeneye regarding that criteria.
The only concern is surely that Samsung aren't going to release Android M for GS4? Just won't happen will it?
hi, i just bought i9505 , i want to install a custom rom but i hesitate.
Currently my i9505 is very stable and responsive with Stock rom based on lollipop 5.0.1
can you please tell me if is it a good idea to change to custom rom or not ? i want try UPSM and others mod
What is advantage if i change rom ?
is it easy to come back to stock if i decide to try custom rom ?
Thank you in advance
I've tried both custom and stock roms and I am now using a stock rom because I also own a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which only works properly on the stock rom for now...

The problem with stock lollipop rom is that it doesn't have conference call feature. That's why I am staying away.

I thought I had seen that feature on Stock Lollipop? hmm, maybe not. Still, it's a niche feature (I actually work in business where conference calls are regular and we use a bridge), and as put Skype and Hangouts do it pretty well too.
Hey everybody!
I found myself with some spare time and would like to flash my D6633 a custom Rom for LB, however there are quite some to choose from.
I am not searching for “the best“, but rather your opinion
What are you using as daily driver and why? What is the most handy feature about the ROM?
Thanks for all suggestions!
I would suggest CyanogenMod since it's been around for a longer time and things always work as they should. I have been using CM12.1 for my Z3 as a daily driver and it's definitely a better experience compared to stock rom.

Sorry I forgot that. I've been playing around with my unlocked Z3 for quite some time and eventually I forgot the bootloader was locked first.
@lokjianming I'll keep cm in mind when I make the jump, but atm I want to keep my DRM functions
If i'm going to be honest, Stock will always be the best, Although Android Marshmallow concept was extremely promising when i had it installed, And if i'm honest i really hope Sony keeps that stock look with those small hints of Sony features, that would be my ideal ROM,
Try the Marshmallow Concept, But let me tell you you will always find yourself coming back to Stock Rom.

I've always asked to me this thing, because I don't want to install a AOSP ROM, I prefer to stay stock and flash some mods and kernels. It is not possible?
In the case of AOSP roms, the camera has the same quality as the Google's stock roms?
Maybe you can try PureNexus, it's so stable and even faster than stock. Same camera quality as stock, even whole UI is same as stock, just some additional features.
BTW you can also flash kernel on stock rom.

The camera quality is the same as stock. It looks the same as stock, performs better, and you lose zero features. Why are you looking for a stock-based ROM then, is the question?

I don't really get what you mean. With Samsung you lose a lot of features going from TouchWiz to AOSP. You don't lose any features going from the stock Pixel OS to say PureNexus. It looks the same, has the same features and more, better performance, etc.

Dude, just root it, enjoy stock if you want and flash a custom kernel. If you decide to venture out, give PN a try.. It is exactly what you're looking for, just an AOSP rom. There is barely any difference between a stock google rom and AOSP.. no one is going to build a stock google rom, it's a waste of time
If you have an unlocked bootloader, but completely stock ROM does Android Pay work along with OTA updates, or just OTA updates ?

If you install one of the custom kernels and don't root the phone it will work. It won't work without the custom kernel though.

ah darn ok. Right now I'm just running stock, custom kernel, and SuperSU. I'm not sure if it is just getting older or what, but I haven't felt the need to beyond this with the phone I just got. My Nexuses all are customized, but this is just pretty basic.
The benefit I suppose is even with root and a custom kernel the ROM is still pretty reliable. Other custom ROMs in the past usually would have things come up from time to time. Nonetheless, I'm always thankful for the work the devs do:good:

I have to agree. Never had a single issue, great battery and smooth as butter.
Yeah I've had stock lock up for me once. Been running PN since January and it's more stable then stock.
Why no one is building of stock ROM no idea. WETA was based on stock, but he stopped development when all the AOSP ROMs came out.
