My N5 has a wobbly power button. If you shake the phone you can hear a slight rattle. I took it back to the CPW and staff discovered that another 2 phones had same issue. Would love to know if this is same with all phones. So please give your phone a shake and see if you can hear it!

Yes, mine does the same. Not sure it's anything to worry about tho.
Probably cause it's ceramic now it has lil more weight than the regular plastic ones

Same here, I can live with it though
Me too
Mine's from CPW and my power button is wobbly and rattles too.
Works fine though
Yes mine also works fine and probably is nothing to worry about. Just wanted to make sure mine wasn't faulty! It seems as though it is just part of the phone. I can hear it when I tap the top of the phone and it did annoy at first. I am used to it now though.

Hey all.
Just picked up my Galaxy Note 10.1 today and am loving it. Only complaint is a... soft spot near the left speaker that clicks at the lightest touch... anyone else notice that? I don't think its anything to worry about at the moment but I am still curious.
Thanks!

Mine doesn't seem to have that, feels solid all the way around it.

Some unit's seem to have some gluing issues and light bleed. Watch a movie in a dark room letterbox and make sure you aren't getting light leakage from the edges onto the screen. A tiny bit is normal but should not be much.

So I just exchanged the tablet with the soft spot... but I think this one might have a bad speaker... when I "click" on something for the first time in awhile (about 5 seconds) there is a "snap" in the droplet sound or any sound for the first time... after the first tone the sounds go back to normal until another few seconds of rest. I think this is more of an issue than anything else so far.... how sad. Another trip to BestBuy....

Hello Peeps,
Have any of you noticed that your power button is loose or wiggly?
I just noticed it on mine, my phone is only two weeks old and I just noticed this issue.
I am pretty bummed about it cause I just achieved root on it.
I suppose if I were to try to take it back, they would not exchange it because of it being rooted.
Any thoughts on this?
The power button is working just fine, I just do not like that it is so loose.
I did a google search and I see that some other people have reported the same issue.
Thank you,
Its normal, hell mine fell off one day.
I use a case so its no longer an issue.

Ya I think it is a pretty common problem but as long as it does not fall out then you are fine it's just one of those "build quality" issues that Samsung seems to have on all of their phones... Gotta LOVE plastic...
Yeah its just a poorly designed button to begin with. More of it "hangs out" of the case in the back than in the front, which makes it easy to apply too much pressure to certain areas. I definitely see how snapping it off could be a very easy thing to do, so my best suggestion would be to get a case or something. If you're that worried about losing it, you could always ODIN your phone back to stock and take it back to Verizon.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I took mine in to the verizon store, and the reps said that it was normal. I think it's just designed that way.
Definitely normal. My brand new one had a loose power button, and the replacement I got for a different problem, also brand new, has a loose power button.
I love my GS3 but wish it was made a little better, with higher quality materials. Like aluminum, and glass.

Hello Peeps,
Thank you for weighing in on my post.
From what I have found, it is pretty common.
I have a case on my phone and I found an app for a lock screen widget, so I am trying to take it easy on my power button.
I agree, worse case scenario I can always revert back to stock and take it back.
Thank you,
My power and volume button are a bit loose too.
My t-mobile galaxy s3 is firm and tight. *that's what she said*
My power button does not wiggle, my volume rocker is loose
Sent From My VZW GS3
There's a little wiggle to my power button and I still use it constantly during the day, usually for turning off the display before waiting on a timeout.
It's been solid in its slight looseness.

Power and volume buttons as tight as a drum here.
Hopefully didn't jinx anything
I did return my 1st S3 due to a possible antenna issue.
That S3 had a power button that was flush with the frame of the phone, and you had to 'search' around for it to feel where it was.
This S3s power button protrudes slightly, as it should.
Mines loose. Lol. That just sounds hilarious

For what its worth, mines been incredibly loose since day 1. Pops off when taking my case on and off to do battery pulls sometimes. I found a site where you can order replacements for a little under 2 bucks, so I'm not worried about it (I forget what it is exactly, but its just a quick Google search away if you wanna check it out)

Hell, my 2nd refurbished one came with the power button detached, volume rocker soon followed.
Needless to say, after talking to my business Verizon rep for a while, I've got my 4th one hiding behind an Otterbox commuter case...
Am I the only one whose Motorola G has a loose power button? It's not that big of a deal, but it makes a hollow noise if I shake the phone slightly. The volume buttons are fine though.
Am I just being paranoid?

Nope. You're not the only one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2547293, http://www.modaco.com/topic/366780-power-button-rattle/
The buttons on mine wiggle a little as well. And according to the reviews that I have read and watched that seems to be a normal thing with this phone.
I suppose this is just part of the lower price point. And to be honest, I can live with wigglin' buttons as long as the phone works well^^ And the buttons still work perfectly fine and "feel right" when you press them, it's not like they feel mushy. So it's perfectly fine in my opinion.

I agree. It's one of those things I didn't really notice until it was pointed out by someone else. How often do you pick up your phone and shake it anyway?! I actually think the buttons feel quite good - nice and "clicky"!

Exactly, they do feel "clicky"^^ I've tested devices before where the buttons were so mushy and weird, half the time you couldn't tell whether you actually pressed the button correctly or not...
I don't care about the wigglin', as long as the buttons give me the feedback that I actually pressed them I am perfectly happy.

That's exactly how my old Desire HD was. It sometimes took 2/3 goes to turn on the screen because I wasn't sure if I pressed the button or not... That and the button being in a stupid place!

I have a similar issue.. my power button is tighter than my volume rocker which seems very loose and rattles even when I am just handling the phone! Annoying!
Should I try get an exchange or is this common perk of the MG?

It's a common thing. That and the mediocre camera are probably what we could put into the "you get what you pay for" box.
But in exchange for that we got Gorilla Glass 3, a more than solid quadcore CPU and a 720p display for under 200 bucks (if you got the 8gb version)! And while the buttons wiggle they still have a nice clicky feedback.
If you want a phone with better build quality you should buy a phone within a different price range^^ But to be honest, I expected the build quality to be much worse. This actually strikes me as a pretty solidly built phone.
Take the back off, slide in a tiny bit of paper down the buttons, re-attach back, no more rattling
Sent from my XT1032 using xda app-developers app
The camera is, surprisingly enough, relatively decent. I reckon that Motorola's skinned camera app is at fault, which is why everyone is quibbling over such subtle minutia. A phone with a five megapixel camera that snaps decent photos is more than enough for most people.
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The camera is alright. It's good enough for sharing some photos on social networks and that is all you really need it for anyway^^
It's obvious that they tried to cut some corners with the camera but they didn't go too far with it. It's still a useful camera and not just utter garbage.

Remove the back cover. Take 2 tiny bits of paper and slot them into the buttons (phone facing down).
Hey I was wondering how the call quality was with the nexus as the ear piece is pretty small. I have a note 3 and while everyone and their mother gave it a great review for phone quality I'm not very impressed. Is the voice quality loud and crisp? Also, when putting casks on speakerphone how is it? I know the speaker hasn't been reported to be great but sometimes voice is a little different.

if your calling T-mobile to T-mobile on both HD Voice capable devices it sounds really nice so far heres the level of ear piece quality based on network mode
GPRS- Crap
EDGE- Decent
HSPA - Excellent
HSPA W/ HD Voice- Amazing
The earpiece is good its just the quality of the audio coming from it depends on the network mode at least for me this is how it is
Can you hear me now? Good.
I have noticed that most speaker grills are much larger than they need to be. The nexus 5 ear piece is about how much is used. Or so I have heard.

i actually prefer those larger grills for the top phone speaker. well not larger, but wider. like the N4 has it.
with the N5 i have found myself having to adjust where the phone is or a part of my ear will cover up the grill and make it difficult to hear. it's probably just my personal use though, like i press the top half of the phone against my ear too hard maybe
Took my first call just a bit ago and can say that I'm very satisfied coming from an s4. Same, if not better volume/quality. Only complaint is how 'sharp' the top edges are too my ear.

I have difficulty hearing the other side of the line, some times the sound level become so low that I can't hear anything, next minute It has a sharp clear vice, might be the little speaker issues.
OP,
I jumped to N5 from iPhone 5. I see no difference in call quality or earpiece - both sounds fantastic, loud, clear. I had same worries - its so small on N5.
Yeah I figured the small earpiece would be problematic, but it's fine.

I have the same problem. I was for a while, able to smack the side of the tablet with my hand to return it to normal but this doesn't work anymore. Did you find a fix? I'm sure something is just loose inside! Thanks much.
Hi, sounds like that same problem that I had.
In my case it was the Display Flex cable that slipped out of place a bit. You can find a great video on IFIXIT that explains how to get to the cable to check it.
The disassembley is really well explained in the video and it was easy to do it . My Note 10.1 works perfectly well again
