error retrieving info from server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0] - General Questions and Answers

My galaxy S2 was working fine. I used google play a couple of days ago without any problem and today when I tried to update my app systemPanel from google play (or any other app), I got the error (there was no change to my S2):
Update for 'systemPanel app/Task Manager' could not be downloaded due to
an error. (error retrieving info from server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])
what exactly does it mean?
I already tried everything below without success:
- clear data/cache of google play/google framework. This made it worse as when I started google play it said "no connection- retry". I had to restore app+data from titanium backup.
- clear data/cache 'download manager'
- uninstall updates for google play
- I have also deleted then added back my gmail account and it did not help.
I couldn't install any app either. I got the same error when I tried to install any app from Google play store.
I'd appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you.

Chrome Wont Update | Market Error: RPC:AEC:0

Hello,
Just upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and now in the Google Play Store I get the following error when it trys to update any of the google apps such as Chrome:
Update for "Chrome" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:AEC:0])
I have used google and gone thread to thread for solutions but NONE have worked.
I have tried the following:
a) Factory reset
b) Factory reset with wipe and format of all partitions
c) Removing my google account and re-adding it.
d) Clearing cache/data and updates from google play store and google framework, then removing google account, rebooting, re-adding google account.
All of the above lead me back to the same exact issue RPC:AEC:0
I must mention I am not rooted and I have not unlocked my bootloader.
Please help!
What version of the Play Store do you have installed? (Play Store -> settings -> build version)
Latest is 3.9.16, you can download it here

Try this one. It's a small variation on what you already tried. Notice the power off for 2 mins, instead of reboot. (btw they = Google support)

[Q] Google Play Store Server Error after flashing Jelly 'Beans'

I just flashed Beans and everything was working fine up until boot of the Google Play store.
When I start the store I instantly get the "Server error" with a gray retry button.
I would love to get this fixed but I can't no matter what I try:
-Clear Data and Cache for Play Store and Framework Services
-Install Market Enabler and run (Spoofed Verizon and T Mobil)
-remove and restore my Google account
If anyone has anything else, please help!
Edit: I managed to restore a backup. I had the same problem with CleanROM, but no issues on the backup.

Just uninstall the updates of the Google Play, and restart your phone. You can read the full explanation on http://technogiga.com/how-to-solve-error-905-in-android/

Google play store not working

Hi Guys,
I am using GT-S7262 with Android v4.1.2 . The phone is not rooted. Last month Google Play stopped working all of a sudden. Whenever I used to open it, I would get an error cannot connect to internet. After sometime the error changed to Error Retrieving Information from Server RH-01. I cleared data, cache and uninstalled all the updates but it didn't help. I even cleared data of Google Services framework and force stopped it, even removed the google account. Cleared data of apps such as play store, play services and rebooted the phone but it din't work. Even signing out and again signing in didn't work. I was getting this error in the Android System Recovery

So, I formatted my phone and the default Play Store version is opening but when I click on download any app I get this error "ABCD" could not downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [DF-DLA-15]). What should I do now?
Thanks
Any help guys?

problem with reinstalling Google play Store

My Huawei mate 8 (latest firmware NXT-AL10 8.0.0.839) was purchased in China. I had no problem installing Google services without root. 2 days ago I could not connect to the play store anymore. I had a server error. After 2 days I thought it probably did not come from the server. I looked on the net and followed tutorials. I tried to clear the cache and data, delete my google account and put it back. Nothing works. After uninstalling Play Store, I wanted to reinstall it impossible . Whatever the version, I have this message: the system failed to install the package because it tries an authorization that it is already by some packages (in adb it does not work either). For info, all other applications google can be reinstalled without problems and I have no problem to create a Google account in the settings.
I figured if I redo the whole procedure using GSMinstaller, it should work. Big mistake, Unable to uninstall Google Play Services. The procedure stops there.
For info the application GoogleInstaller (version 2 or 3) does not work either. I have this message: "System failed to install the package because it tries an authorization that is already by some packages
So back to square one. How to reinstall the Play Store? I would like to avoid doing a factory restore because I'm not sure that on Emui_8, GSMinstaller works.
Waiting for your answers
Thank you and good day
