MIUIv5 4.2.28 for Xolo Play T1000 by Free Radical
This is a port of the latest available MIUI v5 rom for the Xolo Play T1000 with libraries and files from the S018 official update, chinese MIUI port for the LA-Q1 courtesy apkhot.com and another port for the K-touch V8. Like the stock firmware, this is based on Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
Haven't included any third party app. Its all stock from Xiaomi.
Google Apps not included!
What's working:
EVERYTHING (fully functional and stable)
Known Issues and solutions:
For any graphic glitches, in Developer options toggle "Force GPU Rendering" to Off
Button backlight (need to toggle autobrightness or use a third party app like Soft Key backlight or Tasker from the Play store)
Changes:
Status bar transparency glitch on lockscreen fixed, see solution 1
Random graphic glitches fixed, see solution 1
Grey images from camera due to some obscure fault fixed
All sensors fixed, everything works
Updated libraries and kernel from official S018 Xolo update
Better GPS fixes and AGPS, first lock on should take around a minute and a half on an EDGE connection, optimized for Indian locales
Increased call volume (credit @deepaktom)
Volume key wake set to default
Default storage set to external. Internal storage will be used as cache for optimal performance.
Notes:
For getting the stock Weather app to update, you need to install and configure WeatherBZ from the Play store. Live icons for both are included in the rom.
If you switching from another firmware, you need to wipe data, cache and dalvik-cache from recovery before installing this rom.
If you are using my port (3.10.25 onwards), unless specified you needn't wipe, just install zip over the previous install and all your installed apps and games would still work)
Please do not use my 3.10.18 port. It was my first and experimental build for the Xolo Play and all bugs and issues have now been resolved.
To Do and shout outs to other developers:
Center clock, battery and carrier display mods
USB mass storage mode (dunno if it can be implemented now, may need kernel changes but ma be as glaringly simple as as a build.prop tweak)
Permanent fix for the button backlights (prolly only needs framework-apk changes, will try to fix when I get time)
Kernel rebuild from git source (? prolly when I get ample time. Very busy till December 2nd week)
To decipher the prop files I used in my port, simply run a diff between my port and yegui's LA-Q1 port.
Help me out by posting weekly updates. porting only takes a minute, Its the downloading and uploading which takes hours.
I may not have a developer tag here or any formal computer training but I have developed kernels for other devices like the Minix Neo G4 and ported many roms for the Spice Mi410 aka Huawei Ideos X6. Its high time we get a separate sub-forum here. you know what to do.

replace the complete libs of s018 and try ur port, i am sure all sensors will work ..... and bro k-touch v8 &laq1 are similar.. not perfect clones to xolo t1000. thanks for telling that some other phone other than laq1 exists.. did u try the 4.1.2 port ?? it says its cm10... waiting for ur reply
It not that simple. Libraries from the stock rom kill the media service (dunno why) and prevent the rom from booting. The lib file signatures should also match with the driver/modules which load them.
The right mix of libs is needed but of course it will work (speaking from experience from my previous ports for Ideos X6, been at it for 2 years now )
I am looking into gits for other tegra devices to make the prop skeleton
I haven't tried 4.1.2 for obvious reasons. After I make a skeleton, I'll prolly give a try at kernel development. Only then can we get CM10.1 and other ports.

Please give your feedback and report any issues as it will help me prepare the skeleton of proprietary files needed so that I can do a weekly MIUI port and even other ROMs
Glad to signs of development on xolo play.... Great job.... Although i will not be using the rom untill its fulls functional and stable.... Htc one x also shares almost the same soc (not exactly) may be that can be of some help...

Yep since this was a hasty alpha port.
All bugs have been fixed now (posting it from my device).
Clocked a gps fix in 100 seconds. Would be posting my bug fixed beta rom today after I return from work, or rather, would post a fully fixed 3.10.25

I am aware of that mate and have already given it a shot
My rom is ported from LA-Q1. K-touch V8 has a very different audio chipset. If I do a port from Ktouch V8 or Blu Quattro, I could not get the audio working (problem with the audio modules I guess.)
Will try again though.
I think I will port LeWa next.
But we need to compile a kernel first before getting adventurous.

no. looking at the changes made full wipe is best, not about who ported it thats irrelevant the change log is quite large for 2.5.4 ---> 2.5.11 and blindndumb has added batt tweaks etc your more than likely going to run into problem/bugs

- In Permissions - Manage App Permissions - Apps when you tap on "Trust this app" or "Auto-start", the Settings FC. If you want to "untrust" previously trusted app, it works fine
- When adding a Prepaid card in MiCredits, the app FC's LINK
- When you're trying to re-dial the last number via the BT headset button (in mine is tap the button 3 times), it does nothing and com.android.phone process gives a FC
- Some missaligned text bug LINK
- Switching between World Clock and Stopwatch is little laggy
- Settings -> Storage -> USB connection (It don't ask, it don't charge only, it always mount SD card regardless of the selected item)
- The Cleaner shows wrong storage space LINK
- When in Airplane mode try to send an SMS the app gives a FC.
- Mail app does not remember the position of the menu if you close it while in combined view. On the next start you find yourself in the first mailbox.
- Torch on lockscreen only works few seconds

Fixed Bugs
- Voice calling with Cyberon Voice Commander via BT headset while the device is in deep sleep is not working. The app is trying to load but it doesn't and the device is not responding. - When alarm is set and starts to ring, there is no option to dismiss it (no horizontal slider). You can only see an empty wallpaper with statusbar. It shows up only after you tap on snooze/dismiss option in notification drawer LINK

- When adding new contact, the New contact and Add to contact text is positioned to much to the left.

Why I can't flash this ROM?
If you have issues flashing this ROM, edit the "updater-script" file as in this guide.
Why I can't flash the OTA updates automatically?
If you have flashed any custom zips in system folder (custom kernel, fonts, icons etc.) it won't let you update the OTA automatically. You have to edit the updater-script file following the guide here and here. Also check a "how to" video here.
How's the performance and battery life on this ROM?
No lags in the UI and battery life is very good. Here are some screenshots.
Can I receive and flash the OTA update automatically, if I have installed a custom kernel?
No, you have to be completely stock with only Gapps installed from OP in order to flash the weekly OTA updates automatically. That means if you have flashed a custom kernel, custom font zip, custom extended icon pack etc. then you won't be able to flash the OTA update automatically. Of course you can download the full weekly ROM and flash it manually.
Workaround: For flashing OTA updates while you have custom stuff flashed in system folder, check the post here.
I like to wake/sleep the device with the screen instead of the hard keys. Is there a setting for that?
Install Trickster MOD Kernel Settings app and enable the settings you like.

I can't seem to find a setting to let me download large files over 3G/4G.
Open the Downloads app and go to Settings. Set the "Data usage" to unlimited and reboot. More info here.
I'm only getting "H" for my signal.
Go to mobile network settings and reset the APN settings to default and then re-select what ever provider you use and it should pick up 4G. More info here.

I don't believe they will use Google Play Edition either. CM/AOSP base.

After installation and reboot:
-make before eventual restore MIUI Backup -
go to settings / Developer options
On: Enable development - USB debugging - Force GPU rendering -
search:
windows animation scale (set= Animation scale 5X)
Transition animation scale (set= Animation Off)
Animation duration scale (set = Animation Off)
REBOOT
Notes
if you set : windows animation scale (set=Animation Off)
the system will be even faster, but you will always have a problem of low display brightness on waking
With 5x instead, the brightness remains stable. It goes low only when you change the system. It resolves simple reboot !!!

Overclock to 1.5 GHz thanks to the kernel riches miui. A lot of RAM free. Minimum
battery usage, even after long phone calls or overclocking, TaskKiller working.
Based FXP last build - Base Miui 3.12.20 - Includes Play Store. Even more improved version.
Very fast, stable and flexible.
Made many test: without lags, if well set! Miui is now almost 100%!
But with a lot of free ram, problem seen in many Miui rom.
Ability to store numerous apps, with the possibility to use the ext_card / sd_card as internal memory.
My goal was to be able to run the Miui weather on this rom. Goal achieved!

By far the best MIUI rom, although aesthetically wise has a few problems but not too bad
Aesthetical issues:
1) Google Play icon is Purple
2). When going to edit screen mode it has a row of widgets at the bottom below the widgets it has a 3x3 grid of dots and the dots are coloured white depending on how much space they take, I think there is one image file missing
3). When installing an app whether it failed or not it has a darker shade on the left but stops 1/4 of the way

I am honored to make you pleasure (the King of the JLO) the continuation the story of the MIU for XJ.

For example, I did the upload in the early hours of the morning. upload a breeze.

If you need any help with fixing bugs (framework especially) let me know, I think I remember most of things about MIUI.
Some MIUI ports may have issues with GPS time and some others.

yezzz, but skip the part of .smali files and should work. Just use framework.jar from MIUI XJ

But, certainly with much more time, I like it (if it is possible for me) reach my goals on my own.
Last night I finally solved and improved my rom than the public version. Some bugs were right in the framework and android.policy.jar ...
Some bugs fixed:
fixed monitor data
fixed-date setting - watch the screen - according to your own time zone
solved status bar completely multilang and transparent
rom multilang completely 100%...
and much more ..... as well as global updates.
Finally, on your advice I wished I test the functionality of the GPS, I installed IGO vers.9.67 .....and I must say I am amazed: a few seconds to start up and immediately my device he hooked satellites ... for me .. perfect.

Battery 100%
I'm not sure if this is the ROM, But i've got a 100% Battery Reading all the time
Right now i'm following the steps of the battery callibration
I've charged it to 100% (I know this by feeling the temperature of the charger & the Voltage reading)
I pressed the Battery Callibration button
I used a Fast discharge app to fully discharge the battery, I then left the battery in the device over night (A Red LED Drained the Battery)
I've now put it on charge and i'll turn it on in 1-3 Hours
And can i just ask, i think i've bricked it into a bootloop because when the batttery was at like 0% I took the battery out plugged it back it and it was just on the bootanimation is this due to the lack of power?

After going through a hard time (I bricked my phone so i had to re-flash the ROM) it seemed the Callibration did the trick, My batteries reading the correct percentage I can comfirm this ROM did not cause my problem

I've now put it on charge and i'll turn it on in 1-3 Hours
And can i just ask, i think i've bricked it into a bootloop because when the batttery was at like 0% I took the battery out plugged it back it and it was just on the bootanimation is this due to the lack of power?

After going through a hard time (I bricked my phone so i had to re-flash the ROM) it seemed the Callibration did the trick, My batteries reading the correct percentage I can comfirm this ROM did not cause my problem

I can only add, that I have used this rom for a long time and I've never had similar problems ....
advice: the battery installed on XJ - if I'm not mistaken - is lithium polymer, so NEVER fully discharge (only nickel cadmium).
Even more cycles of charge and discharge fast! result if these precautions are not observed, the battery loses its nominal values

Should be a noticeable improvement in the occasional lag, but there seems to be a general bug related to this that affects many devices. With our device, it's more noticeable due to lower resources in general than newer devices have.
Default DPI is now set to the native device default of 240, but you can change this to several preset values in Settings > Display > LCD density.

TWRP Recovery:
TWRP 2.8.7.0 with F2FS support in IMG, TAR and ZIP formats. Thanks to @javelinanddart for compiling these.
Instructions:
Reboot to recovery.
Make a nandroid backup.
Boot into recovery. You need a newer version for lollipop. Tested with TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery linked above.
Make a nandroid backup.
Make sure you're on one of these radios or newer for now: I727:UCMC1|I727R:UXUMA7
FULL WIPE/Format: /system, /data, /cache and /dalvik.
Flash the ROM.
Flash GApps(use Slim Mini or Zero GApps).
If you want ROOT, you have to unlock Developer Options by going to Settings > About phone and clicking on the Build number field 7 times. Then you can enable Root in Settings > Developer Options > Root access.
Reboot when finished
Boot animation is delayed 10-20 seconds, and takes about 10 minutes to boot up on a clean flash, so be patient and give it time.
Enjoy!
Note: You may not see all the ringtones, notification sounds, etc. until the phone goes to sleep, or the Media Scanner finds them. Also, check the Settings > Sound & notification > Interruptions menu to make sure these aren't disabled, as in "No interruptions". This disables the sounds.
Issues? Post a logcat on Pastebin, link to it here, and provide as many details as possible, such as ROM version, GApps used, radio/modem, cell provider, or anything relevant to the problem or how to duplicate the issue.

NOTE: RRO is no longer part of the Slim sources. Basic layer support is included (v1). I am not sure where this is going with Slim but feel we need a theme engine of some kind. I've left these images here for fun. If I find I can pick the RRO commits back into my builds I will try, but if we go weekly, it will have to come from the bosses...

Yes sir, it's what I primarily use. It still works well, even though it's discontinued.
My computer likes to connect to the phone's USB storage with PhilZ, whereas with TWRP it has trouble sometimes.
Both should work (for now)... [emoji14]

20150203 build
wifi working-phone working,in and out calls
sms over wifi works but not pic mes
showing LTE but no sms or brower data(apn correct)
on 1st boot t lock screen with circle s hit power button to wake and boot from circle s again,did this 3 times then stayed in rom
browser pages sluggish,hardware search key would not bring up keyboard search (cm12 same)
phone rom itself is very fast and smooth-no gapps installed during test
battery doing well

OK, thanks so MMS pics aren't working? Did you set your default data type and APN correctly? If you can try other ones, it might be useful.
You can share your log using pastebin.com and providing a link here to it. If you can't post links, just spell out the url with words or PM me (if you can).
New build is up in the OP. Not a lot changed, except some source moved around on Slim since msm8660 got it's own CAF branches.
Beware if you try the torch tile, you will have to reboot to use the camera. This is an issue with the Nexus phones too and I hope to see it fixed soon.

Use the latest Slim normal GApps v467 or Slim mini GApps v467. The full GApps package is very large and might not fit into the system. I had issues with apps disappearing like Play Store and Play Services issues. You don't want that deal...
Just put this on my skyrocket. Wow! Its like a new phone . So fast and smooth. I had to order a new battery though. It will be interesting to see what the battery life is really like as the one I have dies pretty quickly considering it the original. Wish I could access all 16gb of the internal memory for apps though.

I did it but still no lucky, I also tried to hide the Google service, Google play service and Google frame work actually, but still got the same result!
Possibly flash presist.img will fix this but I cannot find the persist.img of Android 10 from the web, (I think it is noway to fine it because Pie is the latest official OS by Xiaomi)

Flashed this a few days ago, I've tried all the other roms now as I just like testing out roms. I've got an odd problem with this one though when playing YouTube videos in a browser they play all blocky with random colour squares I've not seen that before. Anyone else have that problem?
Does this have the same features as the Android 10 port?

Neither banking apps nor Google pay detect the SIM card.
Installed the latest build (20.6.24) and so far so good,
The only problem is app icon, i cannot change icon to teardrop, how to change the icon from original to teardrop?

How is the heating issue? like, I tried the early builds and they tend to be a bit hot, near the bottom of the screen.
Compares with Miui Eu ROM (Android 9) the battery drop on this ROM is little bit fast, but there is no such issue! ( And i dont play game)

Like on MIUI 10/12 EU ROM (Android 9), normal temp is 34-35 and goes to 36-37 with medium use. Seen 37-38 on the current Android 10 custom roms and upto 39 with medium use; had similar experience with the early builds of Rev. Glad to hear they fixed that.
The battery issue might be due to kernel, if they can fix it with future updates; hopefully might make the switch. Almost forgot, last question, how much free RAM is available, when no other app is running in the background?

And to the free RAM, in my experience, with same Apps installed on both EU ROM (android 9) and this one ( i have 84 apps ), there are 300Mb to 400 Mb difference, in my experience, EU ROM has almost 2G free RAM, in this Android 10, only 1.6 to 1.7G free after power on!
BTW, do you know how to change the icon to teardrop?
It keeps in same even though i changed it under developer options!

That's expected I guess, the newer versions usually eat up more RAM.
I don't think you can change it to tear drop using the stock miui launcher, might need to switch to a custom launcher or use a miui theme.

Yea, normally, new versions need more ROM, but it's totally acceptable! Especially it is EOL in Xiaomi!
And that's too bad, i usually use Lawnchain V2 as my default launcher and its easy to make the changes,, but after I found the stock Miui launcher had the "GoogleFeet' function too, I switch back to Miui launcher to save some spaces!
Anyway, it's okay to keep using the default icons! Not an issue!

Ya, after EOL, so wanted to switch to custom rom or the ported version. But, the battery drainage is a major issue in both.
Custom roms, still have few issues missing here and there. While the kernel causing a bit of heating issue is another factor. Hopefully, might wait a bit longer; before both are fixed.

Yes, just as you said, it's time to using customer ROM after EOL, and i am not a heavy user with smartphone, so some slight problems are okay to me!
