SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimLP is the project name for SlimRoms based on Android 5.x Lollipop and offers the following original features:

New features like Blacklist, expandable volume panel, and SlimCenter (not fully functional to inform of updates yet).
Basic BLN support in the kernel. Enable/disable it in Settings > Sound & notification > Notification > Notification light
Should be a noticeable improvement in the occasional lag, but there seems to be a general bug related to this that affects many devices. With our device, it's more noticeable due to lower resources in general than newer devices have.
Default DPI is now set to the native device default of 240, but you can change this to several preset values in Settings > Display > LCD density.
Slim-skyrocket-5.0.2.alpha.1.0-UNOFFICIAL-20150312-1448.zip

Power-off charging is fixed, along with animated images and even % display during power-off charge. So if your phone dies, you can charge it back up without issue!
BLN (Button Light Notificaiton) support, and it can be disabled if you want in the Settings menu! (Sorry no per-app control right now.) Thanks to @gimmeitorilltell!

Cursory RRO Theme suport. Slim is currently not implementing CM's theme engine. RRO is better in many ways... If you don't know what RRO Themes are or how to use them, you need an app and theme apks. Check it out here: RRO Themes App Official Thread and here: some RRO themes hosted on RobbieL811's server. Thanks, @RobbieL811!
Audio policy tweaked some more - Please test various audio/video scenarios.
Ringtones may not appear until after the Media Scanner picks them up, the phone sleeps, or a reboot. Not sure which at this point, but they are there!

Special thanks to @RobbieL811 for temporarily hosting some of these builds! If you see him around, be sure to thank him!
GApps:
Use TK PIco GApps from AndroidFileHost | BasketBuild
(Main TK GApps thread on XDA)
TWRP Recovery:
TWRP 2.8.7.0 with F2FS support in IMG, TAR and ZIP formats. Thanks to @javelinanddart for compiling these.
Instructions:
Reboot to recovery.
Make a nandroid backup.
Boot into recovery. You need a newer version for lollipop. Tested with TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery linked above.
Make a nandroid backup.
Make sure you're on one of these radios or newer for now: I727:UCMC1|I727R:UXUMA7
FULL WIPE/Format: /system, /data, /cache and /dalvik.
Flash the ROM.
Flash GApps(use Slim Mini or Zero GApps).
If you want ROOT, you have to unlock Developer Options by going to Settings > About phone and clicking on the Build number field 7 times. Then you can enable Root in Settings > Developer Options > Root access.
Reboot when finished
Boot animation is delayed 10-20 seconds, and takes about 10 minutes to boot up on a clean flash, so be patient and give it time.
Enjoy!
Note: You may not see all the ringtones, notification sounds, etc. until the phone goes to sleep, or the Media Scanner finds them. Also, check the Settings > Sound & notification > Interruptions menu to make sure these aren't disabled, as in "No interruptions". This disables the sounds.
Issues? Post a logcat on Pastebin, link to it here, and provide as many details as possible, such as ROM version, GApps used, radio/modem, cell provider, or anything relevant to the problem or how to duplicate the issue.
Enjoy!
Screen shots and stuff:
NOTE: RRO is no longer part of the Slim sources. Basic layer support is included (v1). I am not sure where this is going with Slim but feel we need a theme engine of some kind. I've left these images here for fun. If I find I can pick the RRO commits back into my builds I will try, but if we go weekly, it will have to come from the bosses...
Some screen shots using RRO Layer Theme Synergy_v4 by Brian Gill are attached.
Note you need the Bitsyko RRO Themes app, which you can get by signing up for beta testing, and then you can use Google to find other themes. Full instructions are in the link.
Note there is some Teal mixed in with the Blue, but you get the idea...
great stuff
question, did u test w/philz cwm, he has abandoned all work on cwm as of july 2014

Yes sir, it's what I primarily use. It still works well, even though it's discontinued.
My computer likes to connect to the phone's USB storage with PhilZ, whereas with TWRP it has trouble sometimes.
Both should work (for now)... [emoji14]

Thanks. Well got it going, kind of... struggling with audio issues right now but hopeful. Kernel not booting is back again.
New build is up in the OP, with updated instructions. Still a WIP...
Go Pats!
Audio is working!
New build in OP with WORKING AUDIO ! Huge thanks to @gimmeitorilltell for collaborating on this! GPS locks fast... The source needs to be sorted out and pushed to Slim still, so if you're looking to build, you'll have to wait a bit. Still a WIP...
I need some people to test phone calls and SMS/MMS functionality since my Skyrocket has no SIM card. Share a link to your logcat on Pastebin if possible please.
Let's get this thing all prettied up!

OK, thanks so MMS pics aren't working? Did you set your default data type and APN correctly? If you can try other ones, it might be useful.
You can share your log using pastebin.com and providing a link here to it. If you can't post links, just spell out the url with words or PM me (if you can).
New build is up in the OP. Not a lot changed, except some source moved around on Slim since msm8660 got it's own CAF branches.
Beware if you try the torch tile, you will have to reboot to use the camera. This is an issue with the Nexus phones too and I hope to see it fixed soon.
Here's a direct link to the ROM (instructions are in the OP):
Slim-skyrocket-5.0.2.alpha.0.91-UNOFFICIAL-20150205-2203.zip
Use the latest Slim normal GApps v467 or Slim mini GApps v467. The full GApps package is very large and might not fit into the system. I had issues with apps disappearing like Play Store and Play Services issues. You don't want that deal...
Just put this on my skyrocket. Wow! Its like a new phone . So fast and smooth. I had to order a new battery though. It will be interesting to see what the battery life is really like as the one I have dies pretty quickly considering it the original. Wish I could access all 16gb of the internal memory for apps though.

Userthread in the General section:
[ROM][CM9] ParanoidAndroid [Userthread]----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What is it?
PAD (Per App Density) - choose a custom density for each of your apps!
PAL (Per App Layout) - chose PhoneUI or TabletUI for each of your apps!
To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks.
This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode.
This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually.
Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course.
Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on.
This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size.
You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to.
You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot.
You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode.
Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself.
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

Known bugs: (build 12)
To refresh the HwaSettings database you need to clear it's data.
Some apps don't like non-stock DPI values and will FC. Solution: Settings - Paranoid Settings - List of apps and apply "PhoneUI" + "Stock DPI (Phone)"
This fixes 99% of all app FC's!
Same bugs as all CM9 ROMs for the 2x due to the missing LG blobs (no full Chrome / Opera support, no video recording etc.)

(read more about it here)
Instructions:
Flash ROM + Hybrid Gapps
Advanced - Fix permissions
Reboot
Do another reboot!
You don't need to do a full wipe. Just flash and wipe cache + dalvik.
If you want to keep your customized densities then make a backup of your pad.prop file with the "ParanoidAndroid Backup" app!
If you're coming from another ROM a full wipe highly recommended. It might work without if you come from another CM9 based ROM but: don't even dare to post any bug reports when you didn't do a full wipe!
Don't restore system apps (like Settings) or system data (like Wifi data) with TitaniumBackup!
You'll find a new Settings entry "Paranoid Settings" where you can setup all the magic
By default I set it up to use the standard Phone UI and disabled the navigation bar which I don't need.
But you can enable it at Settings - System - Navigation bar!
If you want to use adb, here are my modded adb drivers for ICS.
If you have a problem please have a look at the Known bugs and Q&A before you post in this thread.
If you want me to look into an issue attach a logcat, I will most likely ignore bugreports without a logcat.

My personal ParanoidAndroid setup
To get back to the ParanoidAndroid setup I use (which was preconfigured from until build 10:
download the tonyp.prop file
Place it at /sdcard/paranoid_backup
Open the ParanoidAndroid Backup app, choose restore and "tonyp"
reboot and you're done!

On the newest build I made the following cherrypicks:
I included the Center Clock option - you can choose it at System - Combined Bar - Clock Style
fix wifi sleep policy
bootmenu custom reboot logic
system volume
disable scrolling cache
Remove 10MB of useless video from builds
If you want to see more cherrypicks included then feel free to recommend me some from http://review.cyanogenmod.com!
Q&A
Q: Some apps Force Close for me
A: Some apps don't like non-stock DPI values and will FC.
If an app Force Closes go to Settings - Paranoid Settings - List of apps and apply "Stock DPI (Phone)" (or custom 240 which is the same thing).
For apps with widgets also check the "Force Scaling (widgets)" option. After a reboot your problems are gone.
This fixes 99% of all app FC's!
The next 0.5% are caused by restores from TitaniumBackup. Please try to avoid any unnecessary restores!
Q: My status bar disappeared?
A: Hold power button until Power Menu comes up, click Expanded Desktop.
Q: Video recording isn't working
A: Yes, that's LG's fault, we need the official ICS release for that. You can use "Videocam illusion" from the playstore. No HD but at least recording is working with it.
Q: Paranoid Android settings force closing?
A: Clear data for "Settings" and see if that works. If it doesn't, did you do a full wipe before installation? If you didn't, then that is most likely the problem.
Q: My Youtube videos won't play?
A: Turn phone to landscape mode, and turn off the HD option.
Q: I saw something about a hotfix in the thread, do I still need to flash that?
A: No, you only need to flash hotfixes if they're mentioned in the first post. If not the hotfixes are already baked in into the newest version.
Q: I don't have the on-screen navigation buttons? I want those bacause it looks nice in Tablet UI!
A: Go to Settings> System> Navigation bar> Softkeys, also works without Tablet UI.
Q: No USB mounting support for my SD card?
A: The stock kernel doesn't support UMS. Flash a custom one (like Harsh's) and go to Settings> Storage> Menu> USB computer connection.
Q: The Stock browser crashes from time to time.
A: Yes, the Stock browser crashes when turning from landscape to portrait. The ROM now supports HWA settings, so all you need to do is disable the HWA for browser to fix the rotation crash.
Q: What are the major bugs in this ROM?
A: Nothing ROM related! There are only the typical ICS bugs. We need the official ICS release by LG to solve them. Examples are no video recording(Camera does work though).
Q: Does Chrome work?
A: Nope! Cnrome does not work because of missing drivers. We need the official ICS build for the Optimus 2x.
Q: My font size is rather small?
A: Increase either the default or the apps specific density at Settings> ParanoidSettings or go into Settings> System> Font Size> and choose another font size.
Q: I've changed some things in Paranoid Settings. After rebooting, these Settings now force close, what do I do?
A: Just reflash the ROM without wipe. This will fix it because it replaces the (modified)pad.prop in /system with an unmodified stock(as the ROM came) pad.prop.
Q: When switching through homescreens, I get a blue outline of the screen and I don't like it, how do I get rid of that?
A: Go to Settings> Launcher> General> Disable the "Tablet effects" option. Then go to the Homescreen settings an change the Transition effect to Standard.
Q: My alarm didn't ring today, so I was late for work, then I got fired, then my house got reposessed, then my car gave out of gas, so now I'm just sitting under a bridge with my phone and what little battery I have left. Why didn't my alarm go off?!
A: This was probably a bsod (black screen of death). All phones react different to different kernels, you have to try yourself which one works best for you. Don't undervolt! Undervolting increases the chance of bsods a lot. If this only happens during charging it's a charging bsod with an easy solution: Go into Settings - Developer Options and check "Stay awake"(No man's financial life was harmed in the making of the above question)
Q: Does the HDMI connection work?
A: Yes! The HDMI connection works at full 1080p HD, just not at 720p though(just like CM7, and any other ROM). Just plug it in and it recognizes it just fine!
Q: When using a root checker, I got a failed root check(saying I'm not getting root access). What do I do?
A: Try wiping the data of Superuser. If that doesn't work, try updating the SU binary, or the app itself. If that doesn't work, the ultimate solution is to wipe data(a complete data wipe/factory restore in CWM to be specific), and reinstall the ROM, this might not work however, a trick that has been used by a fellow Optimus 2x user, found that he had to erase all internal memory in "Mount Storage". But, in reality, there is NO need for a root checker if everything else Superuser related works, so don't worry!!
Q: Can you include the Optimus 4x lockscreen?
A: Unfortunately: No - and there's nothing I can do about that as long as the ParanoidAndroid team doesn't release it's source.
Q: Why isn't Opera working?
A: The newer versions aren't working on P99x ICS unfortunately. You need to use Opera Mobile v11.5.3 or Opera Mini v6.5.2.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extras/Fixes!
Some settings menus are not reachable in TabletUI and Portrait view, the problem is the too small screen size.
For example: Settings - Security - Screen lock - Pattern: The Next and Cancel buttons are missing in TabletUI.
There are three workarounds:
Most of the times it's enough to just tilt the device into landscape, the missing settings will appear due to a specific landscape layout.
Setting the Tablet DPI (128) does make it work, but it will get pretty tiny.
Last but not least: Apply PhoneUI (and if needed even a dpi of 240).
Thanks to our good friend cyansky_1, he has found a solution to APN's disappearing, he has made a thread in the General section that tells all about it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823097
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P999 specific:
Q: What kernels should I use or are available for this ROM?
A: Harsh Kernel: http://bit.ly/Nkvc3C
Jarvis Kernel: http://bit.ly/M2tkRv
Morfic Trinity Kernel(Only flashable on the non-touch ClockworkMod recovery): http://bit.ly/lICWzJ
Faux123 Kernel(Look for the P999 ICS kernel!): http://faux.androidro.ms/
Quick tip-
Faux kernels have two versions: The "sv", or standard volt version, which starts at 1.0 GHz, and goes up to 1.55 Ghz, and is not undervolted, the kernel that does not say "sv" in it's name, is the already overclocked kernel, it starts at 1.1 GHz, and goes up to 1.55 GHz. Remember, get the latest version for ICS!
Q: What baseband can I use this on?
A: Any! This rom supports all old and the (new one(if you have a noise problem with calls)), just read here: http://bit.ly/OlC3eT
Quick tip-
March 2011 baseband: Slow GPS locks(cold start), worst call quality out of all three, possibility of slower data speeds
July 2011 baseband: Slightly faster GPS locks(cold start), slightly better call quality, possibility of faster data speeds
March 2012 baseband: Fastest GPS locks so far(cold start, ~8 seconds for me inside, with wifi off), best call quality, possibility of faster data speeds, screen of death issues fixed for the most part
Q: I'm having MMS(Picture Messaging) issues?
A: Switch to data, Wifi MMS is a pain. I've always had the problem of MMS over Wifi on any ROM every now and then. Data always works, though!
Q: Bluetooth calling doesn't work?
A: Nope, not if you're on the March 2012 baseband, to fix this you have to use the kdz method, download the V21E.kdz and read this, it should help: http://bit.ly/PkCK6P
Q: Wifi calling force closes?
A: Go to Settings> Paranoid Settings> List of Apps> Click "All" tab> Scroll down to wifi calling> Click it. Now select phone UI in first box, then Stock UI in the second box, hit save! The reason for wifi calling force closing is because T-Mobile made the app specific to the 240 ppi because the G2x is stock 240 ppi, therefore the app will force close when not in its correct density.
Q: My data drops when on Facebook and in the Play Store and various other apps, what's happening? It's annoying.
A: This happens to us all. GPS is kicking in when using those apps. It's a problem that started way back when 4.0.4 became available. To fix this go to Settings> scroll down to Location Services> and unclick the option that says GPS Satellites. Remember! Re-enable this option when you need GPS!
-Thank you all for these questions, and these answers! And this will be updated in the future!

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, and indeed it's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank.
Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a usefull addition and not just a cute novelty. i'm calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

Same here, and took off my sig, it was obnoxious anyways, so I changed it. This will be my last off-topic post on this thread.

I'm downloading, going to try this.
The link for the gapps is painfully slow.. Is it me or anybody has the same issue?
If possible, could you provide a mirror for the gapps? It will take me 30 minutes to download while the rom took me if anything a minute or two.

Unofficial Paranoid Android 3.69 Build
Welcome to unofficial Paranoid Android 3.69 build for Asus Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) . This is my first ROM built from source. I am compiling it from Paranoid Android sources and their repositories. I will do my best to make this ROM for our wonderful TF101 as best as possible. However, this is quite similar to normal PA nightlies but with several goodies baked in.
"What's unique about this ROM?"
-To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks.
This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode.*
This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually.*
Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course.*
Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on.*
You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode.*
Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself.*
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

How to report issues
If you have faced any problems other than the listed above, and felt like it's device tree related, be sure to go here:
https://github.com/TheMrcool212/device_asus_tf101/issues
Or if you want to make a public discussion for your problem, just post it here.
How to install?
Make sure your TF101 is rooted and the TWRP Recovery v2.3.2.3 or higher installed.
If you are coming from 4.1.2 and lower, you must wipe all.
If you are coming from older builds of this ROM, no need to factory reset. Just wipe cache, dalvik cache and system before installing the ROM. (NOTE: This will also deletes your mods you've installed before)
If you are coming from another 4.2.2 ROM, a factory reset is very very recommended.
1. Download the ROM and gapps
2. Put the ROM and gapps to your TF101
3. Reboot to the recovery
4. Make a backup (NOTE: Always always make a backup before performing something to your device)
5. Wipe cache, dalvik cache, factory reset and system
6. Install the ROM and gapps
7. Reboot

Q&A
"Do i need to flash the KatKernel?"
No, it's already included in this ROM with the latest version.
"Why the PlayStore appeared as no connection although i've connected to the Wi-Fi?"
Backup all of your data then flash the ROM with a factory reset.
"Does this ROM includes cherry-picks?"
Yes, most likely those cherry-picks are from CM10.1, AOKP or AOSP gerrit website.
Helpful Tips
Animation speed
-You guys know that Android 4.2 ROMs in this tablet are quite slow when opening apps, a window. If you want to make it look faster, go to settings > developer options, scroll down a bit > there is three options:
1. Window animation scale.
2. Transition animation scale.
3. Animator duration scale.
Those are set 1x by default, change it to 0.5x to make it faster or just off the animation.
Hybrid Properties
-The Hybrid Properties is the main feature of Paranoid Android ROMs. Since PA 3+, we can do lots of things with it. We can change the navigation bar color and also status when opening certain apps. It is also can change the layout and dpi's on apps like GMail, Google+ and Youtube to your liking. You can always reset the settings if you've messed up with it.
DPI and Layouts
-DPI is for screen sizes, most of devices have the same DPI, but others don't. Like this TF101, the proper DPI for this device is 160. If its higher or lower by the number it may have screen issues. You can change these DPI's the Hybrid Properties.
Other than DPI, there's 3 layouts. 360p is for phone mode, 720p is for phablet mode, and 1000p is for tablet mode. For example in the Hybrid Properties, you changed a layout for the You Tube app to 1000p. So if you go to the app the screen will look like tablet mode (navigation bar and stasus bar on below). However by changing these layouts it will not effect your DPI's.
HALO
Halo feature was presented by the Paranoid Android team since they released version 3.5. In this feature, you will get a floating bubble that will stay on your screen. When you have a notification, the bubble will appear in an icon of the notification and you can open it directly from there. This will make it easier especially while playing games or watching a video rather than swipe down on the status bar. To activate it, swipe down on the status bar and tap on the blue circle icon.

thanks for keep tf101 alive! Paranoid *-*
WOW! Awesome...i didn't think i will see this brilliant rom on our TF101
Downloading...will update
Thank you!
Roms running pretty well.
Ive used Pimp my rom to help smooth out the lag and switched to Opera mobile for the browser.
Got the settings menu text a little smaller by going into "language and input" and adjusting the font size to "small"...... the dpi is still a bit to big though lol.
Switched to Apex launcher which has helped a little.
Wee problem i found - on the keyboard dock, the numbers are coming up as hyphenated characters rather than numbers - i fixed this with "external keyboard helper" (i have the paid version which has been really handy)
As youve stated, the advanced sub menu force closes as well as the hybrid menu.
If you can sort out the lag and the small niggly bits then im sure the rom will be very popular :good:
Nice to have a tablet UI back!

I've never saw Paranoid Android Halo (3.50) for 10 inch tablets. Only on phones and nexus 7. I think i'm sure that thats the cause of the Hybrid Properties crash. I'll wait for someone release the stable 3.50 version for 10 inch tablets like nexus 10 and TF300.
REMEMBER: The Halo version of Paranoid Android (3.50) is still in alpha build.

Good luck. You could ask moles or Aaron about it. They are nice peeps.
I noticed in this ROM there is messaging and people app. The first build i released also had the phone UI. I changed the dpi to make it look normal. So im pretty sure that this build are only meant for phones, not for tablets.
Paranoid Android Team had just released alpha 4 build for HALO version. I will update it to this device soon.
Great news! Thank you TheMrcool212 !!!!!!!
if i go to settings andf choose "advanced" get message "unfortunately, settings has stopped.
the same with "hybrid properties"
The pie is what making the launcher so laggy (even when the nav bar is hidden)
There is any way to disable the pie settings?
These builds are unofficial, unsupported by the Team Carbon. Do not file bug reports to the Carbon devs -- instead please post them in this thread.
For more information on Carbon in general, please read post #2
I test these builds before uploading to dev-host, but take absolutely no responsibility for any damage to devices, data or living beings caused by anyone using these roms.
These builds are based on the CarbonDev github tree https://github.com/CarbonDev and CM10.2 device sources https://github.com/CyanogenMod You can see my modifications to these source trees (mainly to squash ovation-specific bugs) and the local manifest at https://github.com/kimjisoo. Feel free to fork these and improve on the code (but please do let me know if you identify and fix any bugs!)
You can also flash a trim-enabled kernel from this post. If you don't know what this is and what the pros/cons are, I suggest you drop by this thread first: TRIM: FAQ, Discussion, Risks
Unless a serious bug is identified, these early December builds will be the final updates for the 4.3 branch, as the Carbon Team has started working on 4.4.

Yes. The device-specific files are pulled from CM10.2 github, so trim is currently disabled until they feel it's safe to enable it. If that happens, I will put a note in the op.

Are you sure? It's working fine for me (latest YouTube from Play Store)
[Edit:] Tested a bit more. HD video does not work. SD and HQ work fine. I'll try to fix this in the next build.
I would appreciate any advice on what could be the potential reason.

Rom is so satisfying. Thank you.
But
In mxplayer hardware rendering does not work.
Probably the same reason is like playing the youtube.
In the olden days disabling he overlays would sometimes fix it. I haven't flashed this yet so I can't test.

It appears that there is some minor issue with the TI-specific libraries, and this is causing hardware rendering of h264 video to fail. I'll see if I can't get this fixed by the next build.
Wow! Thank you for this awesome ROM. I feel this is much smoother than CM10.2.
Applications are flipped sideways in recent bar.
Hope I can soon take screenshots. Dont really care about the youtube HD playback as my internet sucks bad.
Again thank you!

I'm looking into the screenshot issue.
Battery drain from android system is a known 4.3 bug with a variety of possible cause and fixes: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=58126. It is not a bug specific to this ROM, so there is no fix I implement at my end.

OK, this has now been fixed and new build (20130917) uploaded and added to OP.
When in landscape mode, the navigation bar becomes big, ugly and flipped. I could live with this but as the buttons are flipped I accidentally press the kill app button.

I had this problem with CM10.1. I cured it by uninstalling a load of system apps. I'm not sure exactly which one was the culprit, but I think it may have been GoogleBackupTransport. The screen is now the major draw on the battery, and android system is way down in fourth place.

Thanks for the report. Carbon and Cyanogenmod handle rotation a bit differently, and this bug is probably caused by a conflict between the two implementations.
I'll have a look at fixing this over the weekend and expect the next build to be ready on Monday.
By the way, it looks like screenshot is working for you? I was assuming this issue was related to the other graphical glitches...

Known Issues
Some are experiencing some notification/heads up colour issues. This is usually resolved by changing the colour and changing it back again.
GUIDE, FAQ and Useful Links
Much of what follows applies to many ROMs. If you have suggestions for things to be added to this guide or find any errors then please let me know.
Purpose and Rules of XDA
XDA is a developers site. It is for learning and sharing. It is not here to "provide" apps or support to users. Most of the people that develop or help or support do so in their free time. No one "owes" you anything. You are not "entitled" to anything. Those that help others, are polite and try to help themselves will be more likely receive helpful and polite assistance.
Rule number one of XDA is : Search
Other rules include:
Be respectful
Be tolerant
Be hepful
Don't be an ass
Q&A or Dev Thread?
There is a separate development thread and Q&A/Discussion thread. Right now, I am happy for you to report all issues in the development thread.
But as it is a development thread, you should provide logs where ever possible and only report bugs if you have clean flashed. Telling others there may be an issue if you dirty flash is acceptable but please word it as such not a bug.
A little banter is accepted in the development thread, but please don't turn the thread into a chat room. Let's keep it fun but not so long nobody can be bothered to read, otherwise I'll have to revert to using the Q&A.
The Q&A is still there and available and is more "free".
Flashing
You should clean install for best results. If you "dirty flash" then at least wipe cache and dalvik/ART and you MUST provide logs with any issues.
Clean v Dirty Flash
There are a number of interpretations of clean flash. In recovery you should factory reset or wip everything except internal storage. This will wipe your apps and most app settings.
Whilst there are ways of backing up your settings they are not recommended because they can cause issues when there are changes to the ROM which affect how settings are stored or recorded. Do not restore system data: this often leads to forced closes and constant error messages.
You can use a backup app like Titanium Backup or Parcel. Sometimes restored apps can cause issues, and it is better and cleaner to re-download them, although not everyone has the time or inclination to do this.
If you do not wipe as per above, then you are dirty flashing. This is quicker and often works. But because things are left behind from the previous flash this can result in weird issues. When you dirty flash you really should wipe cache and dalvik/ART, so that there aren't residual
Reporting Issues
Before Reporting Issues
If you have issues with your new flashed system there are a few things to do before you report them.
First, if you have dirty flashed then try a clean flash to see if the issue remains - many issues are cleared this way. Also, it is very difficult to pin-point certain issues after a dirty flash.
Also, if you have Xposed installed then remove that before reporting. This is because Xposed can change things deep within the OS and make things behave differently, which in turn makes it very difficult to troubleshoot and resolve issues. This is Xposed hate - many devs require this and will not offer any support if Xposed is installed.
Reboot. It's surprising how many issues can be resolved by this simple step. Especially if an app is misbehaving or using a lot of battery.
How to Report An Issue
The biggest bugbear of those trying to help with issues is when they are not properly reported and require to have the same questions answered over and over. The circumstances may require different information, but here are a few common items to consider posting:
Version. Often people miss this and are reporting something that was solved days or weeks ago. Others say "latest" when it may not be. Quote the version number and/or build date.
Firmware. Again, quote the date or source.
GApps. The GApps version can affect which version of Google Play Services and PlayStore, amongst others that are used. Whilst often GApps can be "out of date" without any issue, when there is a lot of development by CM this can be very relevant.
Whether you clean or dirty flashed.
A log. Necessary if you dirty flashed, very useful even if you clean flashed. See below for how to do this.
How to replicate the issue. The more specific about how the issue arises and when, the more likely you are to get a quick resolution. If no one can replicate the issue it is unlikely they can resolve the issue.
How to Take a Log
This is an excellent guide.
Some kernels have their own log/bug report option to make things easier.
Useful Links
Google and the XDA search bar are your friends.
Whatever you want to ask or find, it's probaly already there. This is why you often see replies just saying "Search!"

Frequently Asked Questions
No one answered my question.
Maybe no one has read it yet - you may need to give it time. Maybe no one knows the answer yet. Have you already tried to solve the issue? Were you polite? Did you give enough information? There is no need to keep bumping your post.
Which folder does the OTA file get downloaded to? Is it the full file or just the incremental update? Are there nightlies?
/sdcard/Download and it's the full file. They aren't nightly but they are normally very frequent.
Does BlissPop support Layers / RRO?
No. It has the CM theme engine.
Which kernel is best for....?
Stock is really quite good, so I'm not going to suggest any others, as there aren't many now and are easy to find on XDA. So much depends on you: your setup, apps, usage, signal. The list goes on. The real best way to find out is try them for yourself; give each one a few days to settle and you can observe battery usage, smoothness, speed, tweakability etc. But there is no Holy Grail kernel - one that gives the best of everything for everybody. "Performance" and "battery" aren't mutually exclusive, but most kernels are biased towards one or the other. Kernel governors and hotplugs also have an effect. If you are interested in a kernel, read some of the kernel thread.
One last point. When there are changes from CM the date and commits of a kernel can be important so the kernel and ROM aren't out of sync.
How is Battery Life
This often gets asked, but there is no clear answer that suits everyone. So lets start of by saying the team finds battery life to be very good.
There are however many things affecting battery life. Your apps, settings and signal all have a big effect. As does how often your apps are updating and whether over wifi or mobile data. Additionally, which kernel and it's settings also have an effect. As does screen brightness. Certain social and messaging apps can have a huge drain. How often you flash a new ROM has a big effect too. Ideally, from a battery life perspective, you should allow everything to settle and go through a couple of charge cycles. With the frequency of BlissPop updates I have never achieved this!
So every user will have different battery life and typical screen on time. Make sure when doing comparisons you really do it on a like for like basis.
If you want to investigate battery usage, consider apps like Wakelock Detector (WLD) and Better Battery Stats (BBS) as well as GSAM Battery Monitor. These will often pinpoint where battery is being consumed and what is waking your device. Quite often you will see an app misbehaving which can often be resolved with a simple reboot.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I have a bug report to submit. What would be the best way to submit them?
Before you submit a bug report, please check the following before you submit a bug report.
1. Are you using Xposed? If you are, then you're on your own as I do not support Xposed as it causes too many problems (e.g. reboots, force closes, instability, etc). Disable Xposed and see if you can reproduce the problem.
2. Do a clean installation and see if you can reproduce the problem. Do a nandroid backup before doing a clean installation if you wish to revert back easily.
3. Does the problem still persist? Read THIS POST and post in detail on how to reproduce the problem.
If a user does not follow these simple instructions, the bug report will be ignored as there is nothing I can do without logs.
Why is it when I flash the ROM, my settings isn't the same as the screenshots shown in OP?
What you're seeing are themes which utilizes Layers which takes advantage of Sony's RRO commits to AOSP. Read on how to apply layers HERE or read further below on the steps I use for layers.
I'm having problems with <Google-related application>
Only the BaNkS GApps (the ones listed in OP) are the ones supported, if you're not using that particular GApps then you're on your own when it comes to any problems that you may have with Google applications.
I flashed BaNkS GApps, where are all of the Google applications!?
BaNkS' GApps is a minimal google applications package that contains only the essential applications from Google that you need (e.g. Google Play Store). You can download all of your favorite Google applications (e.g. Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, etc) from the Play Store.
I have a feature request, how do I let the developer know?
The developer (me) does not take feature requests as Chroma is a ROM that is suited to my needs. I may add features that are not beneficial to me but to others if I believe that the feature would be widely used by the users. I am always actively looking through repositories to see what is available, so for the most part it is not needed to request a feature. If you think it would be strongly useful and a lot of users would use it, then feel free to make a post.
HELP! I just got a force close with a app and I'm using a layer for that app
If you're using a layer for a particular application that is force closing, the overlay could be ultimately responsible, remove the layer and attempt to reproduce the crash. Otherwise clear cache and/or re-install the application as this is typically not ROM related.

Applying layers (advanced mode)You can also apply layers with the following steps,
Also, I have added a method for people to apply Layers more easily than the application (in my opinion).
1. View your preferred page and find a theme/layer that you like.
https://plus.google.com/communities...9/stream/d31773fe-c129-4ede-bab0-869bc7870274
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/0-themes-official-mega-rro-themes-t3011075
2. Extract the .zip
3. Inside the .zip you will find a variety of .apks
4. Copy all of the apks using a file manager of your choice (the file manager needs to be root compatible)
5. Paste all of the apks into /system/vendor/overlay/
6. Verify that the apks have the permission rw-rw-rw (if you use Root Explorer you do not have to check permissions as Root Explorer does it for you)
7. Reboot.

Do a nandroid before flashing.
Report back any problems that arise and Syko should fix it up.

Only tilapia is blind built. Grouper has been tested but I don't know anyone with a tilapia
Flashing it when I get home.
@sykopompos
I know that Franco kernel supports F2FS for /data and /cache.
Does Chroma also support F2FS for /system?

You mean Franco r82 isn't already included?
As per OP, it should be included.
Edit: Bloody the ROM is just 140MB?? We have gapps bigger than this

Syko advised in the 4th post that ambient display and Franco will be added soon!
Regarding the gapps, I'm using these ones (88MB): http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=banks&device=gapps
Sadly Tilapia doesn't work.
It says package is for grouper.

Flash a grouper version of TWRP and you can flash it, only the 3g functions will not work anymore
A humble request:
Nav bar on the right side when device is rotated. So many roms, none with this.....
Cheers

Wow... thanks for advising Man. Didn't notice they updated their gapps. I'm using the ones from 28th March here on my N7 and N5!
I have banks 4-4 on my n5 no issues. I'm about to flash Chroma on my n7 but don't have previous banks.
