[Q] bootloader won't upgrade. HELP PLEASE!!! - Asus Transformer TF700

Okay so maybe I'm just dumb, but I cannot figure out what the problem is.
I wanted tto upgrade my tf700 to android 4.2.
So I followed forum instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223492
I was on twrp 2.5.0.0 and bootloader 10.4.4. I downloaded the update from the link but nothing happens when I try to install it (maybe I'm not doing it right) I need detailed intruction on how to upgrade the bootloader specifically, then i tried installing open revoverscript in goo manager and now TWRP says 2.6 and the bootloader still says 10.4.4.
Very Confused at this point!!!!

After installing do you get the success message? Reboot and you should get a blue bar goto 100% after 60 secs or so.
How exactly are you flashing the file? Detail your steps please.

I downloaded the file from the link.
Open up goomanager
Select flash rom
Select the file
Tablet reboots
Same issue, bootloader doesn't update eventhoughtwrp is 2.6
Thats wrong isn't it . . .

If you have installed TWRP recovery, first you have to boot to this recovery. Hold power button and volume down button until you tablet start to reboot.. It will boot you to bootloader after that press volume up button. It will lunch a TWRP recovery script. In TWRP menu select install button then give a path to your bootloader file and swipe a button to install it. After that press reboot button.

Yeah don't do it like this - it's totally wrong. No wonder you can't get it working. I'm not sure what instructions you are following but that is not how you flash an update. You must flash it manually in twrp. Consider yourself lucky you haven't bricked. The only thing goomanager works for on our tabs is flashing TWRP.
Follow the instructions above.

See what? Which file have you actually downloaded?
Are you downloading the bootloader / TWRP package fro my CROMi-X thread? If so put it on the sd card and flash it from Twrp. Have you told Twrp where to look?

TWRP 2.6 is fine.
Have you ever flashed anything from twrp? do you know how to get into it?
In TWRP choose install and then go to the folder you put the zip file and select it.....

Once you selected "Install" in TWRP just tap the field with the file path currently selected. A file tree will open - navigate to the folder you put your zip into.

Can you go into Bootloader/Fastboot? (Volume Down + Power)
EDIT: Read your other thread. You need to flash a stock recovery. You can do that via fastboot. Flash a stock recovery, format SD card, then flash a custom recovery again and you should be good to go.
Process of flashing any recovery is easy. Refer to the method in my signature, you just need to follow the RECOVERY FLASHING PART ONLY.
Other necessary info is also available.

Great. Now you have a stock recovery. Just format the SD Card from recovery and the SD should be good.
Afterwards, you can flash any custom recovery and mess around with flashing ROMs etc.

Download This. Open the zip file with 7-Zip or WinRAR, go to firmware.zip, extract recovery.img.
Then flash the recovery in the same way. This is the stock recovery and not TWRP.
I am assuming your phone to be S3 and updated to Jellybean already.

Guide: Installing Kernels/Roms on Xperia L (Unlocked Bootloader only)

Hey there guys, this thread is noob friendly and is made especially for those of you who just got their first Sony phone and decided to flash a custom kernel or rom.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone, use this tutorial at your own risk.
Things you'll need:
- Xperia L with Unlocked Bootloader(ofcourse haha) Look here on how to unlock your bootloader.
- Flashtool
Installing a kernel (This tutorial is for 4.2.2 only, that is 15.3.A.0.26+)
1. Download phantom kernel from here (both Phantom_modules.zip and the boot.img) Place the "Phantom_modules.zip" into your phone (sd card or internal storage) Or you can use any other kernel's boot.img
2. After installing flashtool, or if you already have it installed, open it and click on the Flash icon (the first icon from the left)
4. When it asks you to choose a bootmode, select fastboot mode and press ok.
5. After all this has done turn of your phone (Xperia L).
6. Get out your usb cable and plug it into your computer while holding the "volume up" button. (notice your phone will glow blue below, this means that it is in fastboot mode.)
7. On the pop up window where it says "By Doomlord", choose "select kernel to flash". Locate your boot.img file that you just downloaded a while ago and select it.(Notice if the boot.img file is not showing up in the file menu, on the right cornor make sure the file type is set as "*.img")
8. Be patient and wait till the kernel has been flashed, should take no longer than 10 seconds.
9. Now select "Reboot device into system" and wait for your phone to power on, now once it's powered on without any problems turn it off. Now turn on your phone and wait for a purple glow then hold down the "volume down"button. Now you'll be in CWM (clock work recovery mod) Once you're here select install from zip. Locate your "phantom_modules.zip"(or the zip file, of your kernel choice) and select yes. Wait for it to be flashed and then go back and, reboot sytem.
10. From here you can flash any kernel/rom via CWM, like Thunderzap or civic. Just boot into cwm, select install from zip and locate your kernel zip file and hit install.

- Kernel Owners.
- Sony for their kernel source
Hit thanks if this helped you out.
I don't think that's needed to be Phantom Kernel, or any other in specific, since the kernel provide a recovery with the possibility to flash a zip, it's ok (correct if I'm wrong).
I had unlocked my bootloader, then flashed the boot.img inside of the flashable zip from ThunderZap, then, rebooted to recovery right way, and flashed the entire package from ThunderZap.
Regards and thanks for the helpfull post!

No probs
Well it was the first kernel for 4.2.2 and that's why I put it up instead. I know we can use the boot.img from thunderzap too but if I'm not specific enough most of the noobs wont understand. I also chose that kernel because it comes with a recovery so then you can just flash other kernels via cwm.
Complicated - with properly installed drivers you can start flashtool with usb-cable plugged in. After clicking the flash icon choose "Reboot into fastboot mode (via ADB)".
When the phone is in fastboot mode (blue led) choose "Select kernel to flash". No need to turn off the phone and play with cable and vol-down button...

Flash any (4.2.2) stock rom and try again. That's why your WiFi probably isn't working. Either that or you didn't flash the kernel zip file (ex thunderzap4.1.zip) after fast booting the kernel img.

I am also facing the same issue where wifi is not working on any Rom. So after following the steps mentioned earlier. What exactly should be done like boot to recovery then flash gapps and then reboot. Once booted flash boot.img from the Rom and then boot to recovery to flash the full kernal zip package..?

I have a HUGE problem. Please help me ASAP!
I just flashed my Xperia L to CM 12.1. I was already on CM 12 before. So I went into recovery, wiped everything and installed the new ROM from zip. Everything worked fine except for the network signal. I was getting no network signal at all. So, when I rebooted the phone, I saw that the ThunderZap kernel was also removed. I tried to flash the kernel using flashtool, but this particular variant has 2 .img files (bootlp and bootkk). I flashed them both using the FlashtTool. Now, when I reboot my phone, all I see is the ThunderZap logo. Please help me ASAP, as this is my only primary driver phone.

[Q] Recovery problem, can't find "install zip from sd" option.

I am using a micromax canvas L a108. I recently flashed a recovery to my phone. When I booted into the recovery mode I couldn't find any option to install superusersu.zip. There was an option apply update from sd card. When I tried to flash the zip file through that option the bar completed half and installation aborted message was displayed. What should I do? I urgently need to root my phone. Thanks in advance.

Wrong ROM, can't install stock anymore?

Hi,
Edit/update:
I'm no god at this root and custom rom stuff.. so I got a problem hehe.
I successfully unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP, tried to instal a ROM. Which doesn't even boot further than the first logo pop-up. So I wanted to install the original software, I downloaded from the Huawei site. But I am unable to install this with TWRP.. when I select the .zip it says "Failed"
I have no idea what I've done to my phone.. I hope someone can help me out.

Here's the guide to flash the files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750
It never hurts to have on hand.
And to flash the twrp, you need the .img, and also flash via cmd. http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/orig-development/twrp-twrp-moto-g-2015-t3170537

I don't remember very well, but in that screen, press vol up for 15 seconds, and the recovery should've appear, if this doesn't works, send me a PM and I'll help you better.

yes i faced this as my friend said in the video u have to delete firmware files and then copy twrp in the adb folder. doing this helped me or usually iextract adb in separate folder and just copy twrp there and then flash . also are you using the latest twrp? coz dont. use latest version of twrp check the thread properly and read the build number before downloading..
