Wrong ROM, can't install stock anymore? - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Edit/update:
I'm no god at this root and custom rom stuff.. so I got a problem hehe.
I successfully unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP, tried to instal a ROM. Which doesn't even boot further than the first logo pop-up. So I wanted to install the original software, I downloaded from the Huawei site. But I am unable to install this with TWRP.. when I select the .zip it says "Failed"
I have no idea what I've done to my phone.. I hope someone can help me out.

You can not install original Software with a Custom Recovery....do unroot and flash the Stock Recovery und try again...and unzip the Rom and do the update.app into the dload folder on the SD Card

I got stock recovery now, but there are not really many options in there..
"Reboot system now"
"Wipe data/factory reset"
"Wipe cache partition"
I tried the factory reset, with no result..
Update: well now I have the stock recovery and I cannot connect my device and boot adb bootloader anymore... it says there are no devices connected. Please help!!
Update 2: Okay I found something to unbrick, I had to press volume UP+DOWN now it says Huawei software installing, hopefully this will work.

Okay, I installed stock rom, then I installed update found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/beta-ascend-mate-7-b513-mt7-l09-t3309727) Now running 6.0, my next question is how do I get TWRP or CWM or any Recovery flashed to my phone, which works. Worked with 5.1, tried those but that is not working and keeps bootlooping. I hope someone can help.

[Q] How to Unroot and go back to Factory Settings?

Hi all,
Question: I have a custom recovery right now and i would like to go back to unroot and factory settings, but for some reason it will not work.
I tried:
> Unroot/Uninstall SuperSU (option in SuperSU app), after waiting for 15 minutes, i got tired. Is it stuck?
> Fastboot and install original recovery. When i do this nothing happens when pressing VOL + POWER. There is no factory recovery, the phone just keeps rebooting.
> Factory reset. all data is lost, but EMUI is not the same as when i bought it (golden Mate 7 theme), but it looks more like Gingerbread stock Android.
Could someone help me to go back all the way to stock - like new? Many thanks in advance!
You download the original rom from huawei website for your version. Put the dload folder in the root of your sd card and then click on updater and then manual. It will see the folder and will start flashing.

@ mirchichamu: Thanks for the reply and good advice. This afternoon I already tried to flash the B127 update in the hope to go back to stock, but that did also not work with Custom Recovery (VOL+ and POWER) as I got an error.
Later I found out that the .img for the original recovery probably was not suitable for my Mate 7. I tried another stock recovery that i found online and that did the trick and I could factory reset in a normal way.

can you pls give me a link for this recovery you used?
first thing is to have THE RIGHT stock recovery version..
u cannot use custom recovery to have phone officially back as b4 or flash off. rom
It works always in sequence ...
If u want to flash new rom u need earlier recovery ..
if u want to re-flash same rom u use same recovery ..

[Q] Back to stock recovery B137SP03 without recovery image

Hello all,
I have been going slightly mad today trying to get my mate 7 2GB back from CWM to stock recovery. The main problem is that I do not have a stock recovery image. But after being shown where to find one, I noticed that I could not get it successfully flashed either.
Since I do not really know how to do this, I used flashify, but that did not work and either returned me to the CWM or sent me to rescue.
Can someone help me to a) get a stock recovery image for the Mate 7 version MT7-L09 and b) show me how to properly flash it?
Find stock recovery is easy.. only a question why flashify don't work for you? It work fine for me... your device is rooted?

Hi @dzjero86, my device is rooted and I am on the B137SP03 version atm, using CWM. Don't know why Flashify is not working for flashing a recovery image. It works fine to flash a CWM recovery. Maybe I have the wrong stock recovery... If you can find it, can you send me the link or add it as an attachment here?

A way to find the stock recovery is : download the whole B137SP03 Rom from the Huawei site , and use a tool called "Firmware unpacker for Huawei" whit this tool you can extract the recovery.img from the Rom and try to flash it using flashify

Do you tried flash via fastboot ?
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Or try to use this tool

This should work.
The fast boot just stucks at waiting for device
And the tool you send says that the stock recovery works only on tl_09 and my device is tl_10

Ok, I couldnt access your firmware unpacker, but I did manage to use the tool you suggested.
I have a different recovery screen, but is this the right one? It has EMUI large in centre screen and the options reboot system now, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
If this is the correct one, and I am already on the D137SP03 ROM, I should be able to locally update right?
I tried this, and got a lot further this time, but my phone gave an error message during the update. Do I need to flash the original B137SP03 rom again, even though I am already on it?
I think you maybe can flash using adb commands and also you need adb drivers working

No luck so far.... I've downloaded the update.zip, put it in my mnt/ext_sdcard/dload folder and start the local update. It begins OK, as the progress bar moves along. But after about 25% it shoots to the end, and then I get an update failed screen with a red exclamation mark.
What could I try to get it to work??

If you flashed a stock firmware successfully it will not boot into twrp, flashing a stock firmware will install stock recovery, which means the stock firmware did not flash properly. Have you tried smart switch at all? Are you sure you have the correct firmware to flash through odin?

Yes I am sorry I didn't explained that. Atfer I tried to install stock ROM it got stuck, then smart switch didn't recognize the device but I manage to do the emergency recovery thing with model number and s/n but same thing it got stuck on the same installing system update screen. After that I installed TWRP via Odin to try to push a custom ROM zip, I did that but when I tried to install it failed.

Download Samsung SmartSwitch and from the upper menu select Emergency Recovery Mode, put your phone in Download Mode and connect it to your computer, enter your model number and S/N when asked, and it will download and install latest firmware for your model.
Sorry, i haven't seen that you already tried that.

That means TWRP works and Fastboot/Download works. What is the actual Galaxy S6 model? Mine is G920F.
What custom ROM did you try?
What version of TWRP are you using? The wrong one can create issues.
Did you wipe the phone trough TWRP first? Twice? Including internal memory?

Please Help! is my honor 8 dead?

Help. I have destroyed my device. I have installed EMUI 5.0. Then I installed twrp 3.1.1. Everything was fine. Then I have flashed a wrong supersu file. Now I only get into the fastboot mode and the "erecovery". The TWRP 3.1.1 I can not flash. It means i can flash it with adb, but the device always boots into the system. My smartphone hangs in the bootloop. (After Honor logo it restarts again and again) What can I do? How can a go back to stock? Or flash twrp without booting the system after flashing twrp? Hope someone can help me

Flash TWRP from HERE, then boot to recovery. You'll see an option there called Mount, click that and you'll see a checklist of mountable partitions. Just check on Vendor before you flash SuperSU.

Do you know a guide step by step to reinstall stock rom from adb ? I can't find.
Thanx

try to flash openkirin TWRP
or
flash stock recovery and place update.app in dload folder and flash it using combination key
Hi,
Thanx for the answers, the solution is to copy the update.app files on the sd card and reboot pressing all the buttons... I came back with a bootloader locked and fresh rom...
I've tried to root again but the same result ... Your device is booting....and noting.
Sometimes when you root, it takes 2 to 3 reboots (it bootloops, and then it'll be good)

Before you root, make a TWRP backup first so you can revert back just in case. What is the file you're trying to flash?

I try to flash my recovery with adb, I think have the good twrp file (3.1.1-0.img), I've tried with older twrp file , but it doesn't work...

For emui 5, 3.1.x is the correct version.
For Emui 4, 3.0.x is correct.

From B361 to B130? You need to rollback, dunno if flashing will works. For root you can choose which package to use, Magisk or SuperSU. Personally i recommend Magisk.

Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I don't have a rollback package for my device, I don't know why but my device is a BLN-L21C185 which doesn't accept the rollback package of Berlin and Italy too. I have tried them both a long time before but they didn't work for my and gave wrong version error. As far as the rooting and flashing an older version of the firmware has been possible on other devices but I really don't have any idea for the 6X or may be you call it Nougut.
