I am using a micromax canvas L a108. I recently flashed a recovery to my phone. When I booted into the recovery mode I couldn't find any option to install superusersu.zip. There was an option apply update from sd card. When I tried to flash the zip file through that option the bar completed half and installation aborted message was displayed. What should I do? I urgently need to root my phone. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys:
I have a doubt.
I had installed cm9 rc2 on a nexus s i9023 then i used a backup to revert to stock ics 4.04 and received the OTA update.
But when it was about to install i got the following message
Install untrusted package-----> this was in the upper part of the screen
THIS CAN BE UNDONE------->
CLOCKwordkmod recovery v6.0.0.7
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:failed to verify whole-file package signature
E: siganture verification failed
After that i choose to go ahead an the update installed
It also asked me to disable recovery !
is the unsigned package cmw 6... or am i wrong and i have installed a no official rom?
Help me to clarify was going on !
I could bar wrong, but you may have signature verification enabled within CWM. And also, you are given the option to keep CWM upon flashing the official update.

i have check an signature verification is disable in cwm but i think that the update when throw stock recovery (android guy in the background) that's why i think that the package that the message refres is cmw, but my question is why? What does have to do cwm with the update if the stock recovery was working?
Did you use stock recovery to flash? If so, my opinion on stock recovery isn't good. Lol.

Double check !, CMW Recovery was used !
Check twice with OTA and manually updating with the update file place in sd card
Same result !
Guess it happens because of CMW Recovery as you alreday told me , maybe CWM does not recognize the signature or something !
Guess learn something new today !
Thanks man !

Can you go into Bootloader/Fastboot? (Volume Down + Power)
EDIT: Read your other thread. You need to flash a stock recovery. You can do that via fastboot. Flash a stock recovery, format SD card, then flash a custom recovery again and you should be good to go.
Process of flashing any recovery is easy. Refer to the method in my signature, you just need to follow the RECOVERY FLASHING PART ONLY.
Other necessary info is also available.

Great. Now you have a stock recovery. Just format the SD Card from recovery and the SD should be good.
Afterwards, you can flash any custom recovery and mess around with flashing ROMs etc.

Download This. Open the zip file with 7-Zip or WinRAR, go to firmware.zip, extract recovery.img.
Then flash the recovery in the same way. This is the stock recovery and not TWRP.
I am assuming your phone to be S3 and updated to Jellybean already.

There's something after installation aborted, usually a status code error or similar. That's needed.
What is the filename of what you are trying to install?

What file are you trying to install? I need the exact filename.
Do you have a i9020a? i9020t? i9023? SPH-D720?
Status 7 usually shows that it fails some asserts, so you're likely trying to flash a bad rom for your device.

Hello recently I changed a setting on my phone's build.prop file. I have a ZTE Warp Sync on Android 4.4.2. I believe I changed the dalvik.vm.heapzise=8m(or similar to that). I didn't mean to put 8 in but wanted 148. I have the default build.prop file but can only access the recovery mode. So I am wondering if anyone knows how to make a signed update.zip because everyone I make seems to fail. Also if I try doing any adb commands it says "error:closed." Thank you for any help or advice you can supply it is all appreciated.

I believe I've found a rom but I would prefer to not. It needs TWRP installed which in recovery mode I'm unsure how to do. The reason I would like to not flash a rom is because I've got 400 pictures or so from my Italy trip and would like to save them. Other than that I don't need anything on the device.
I don't think flashing a stock rom will delete your photos because they shouldn't touch the sdcard partition of the phone. At least it's been like that on the numerous phones I've flashed to and from stock

Edit: I tried the install of TWRP with the .zip but it again says "Signature verification failed" I am trying right now to fix the error:closed on ADB so I might be able to fix it that way.
I have tried out the TWRP.zip installation but it doesnt work for verification error.
