[Q] Should ask for replacement with a Mura Effect Screen??? - Nokia Lumia 1020

My new Lumia 1020 has Mura Effect (showing terrible black lines in night with a grey screen)
Could you please show me that if this defect is serious and if I should request for a replacement?
Thanks!!!

Yes

Yes you should return it asap
I had to return twice, second one had so many lines it was horrible at night.
It IS a factory defect, returning should be no problem. I got lucky, they finally had yellow in stock after weeks of switching phones, so I ended up with yellow after two blacks with messed up Amoleds!

dead pixels?

hey guys, I've had my phone since launch but just noticed a screen problem. I initially did a dead pixel test when I got the phone but what I missed is that there is a row of off pixels whenever I am on a dark screen. I guess I never noticed it before because my screen doesn't generally have such dark colors on it. Basically on a black screen there is a line and a few dots that are darker than the rest of the screen.
has anyone had these problems before? will Vzw be willing to replace my phone under the manufacturers warranty? thanks guys, love the community

This is a common issue. (should search the forums next time)
You should be able to get VZW to replace your phone, but the chance of getting a phone that is just as bad, if not worse is very likely. Honestly, you shoul do as I have and just deal with it. You very RARELY even see the spots on a dark screen.
That is if it's just a few, if you have a LOT of dark spots like that then you'd prob end up with a better replacement. Me, myself, I have 3 spots that are very small in size so I'm not going to bother to try to get my phone replaced.

[Q] HELP Damaged LCD, should I send to Sony for repair?

Basically, my white variant of the Z3 is suffering from blue/purple spots/blurs on the top right of my screen and it's really annoying, especially at high levels of brightness. This randomly appeared out of nowhere and I've also noticed that before this appeared my white balance was more blue-ish compared to my friends black variant of their Z3. Both had white balance set to default but on maximum brightness mine always appeared more blueish when theirs appeared more richer in black and whites.
Anyway, attached below are 2 pictures I took from my old SP to show you what I am suffering from, should I send my phone to Sony for repair? Also, my white variant has slight gaps in build quality like the others found in early batches. Another problem, while trying to get my week of production paper out with a pair of tweezers, I messed up real bad and pushed the whole thing inside the phone. I'm assuming I need it for them to repair my phone under warranty? I think I can resolve it by leaving them a note saying that the paper is inside the phone somewhere, just not where they would look normally lol.
Yeah send it for repair, I don't think you need a note, as I don't think its that big of a deal (the paper).
Sent it into repair 2 weeks ago, just got it back. They didn't do anything but update the devices software, wow -_-

Did they even know why you sent it to them? I would complain. Not acceptable.
Update on my situation: I couldn't be bothered to send my device back into repair after they did nothing the first time. But something else happened this time, I haven't exposed my phone to water since the repair, last week I showed off my phones waterproof ability and it failed quite embarrassingly... Shortly after exposure the LCD just died, the phone itself was on but the screen was just dead. So I sent it into repair once again, I honestly don't think they tested the IP rating after reassembling it from the first time. Really hope they don't mess up again otherwise I'm going to lose myself.
EDIT: They did the right thing this time and sent a me a new phone. Went from W38 to W52.

Annoying yellow spot on display

Hi Guys,
New to this forum. I recently sold my one plus due to the exact reason but this was at the bottom of the display. Many have said that it would disappear over time but after 6 months, the yellow band was still haunting me. Gave up because of how infuriating it was and sold it. Got this beast, loving it but I noticed straight away at the top left of the display there was a yellow spot which spreads slightly to the centre. Im not familiar with the characteristics of certain displays as I am aware of the different kinds of displays these two devices use. Just wondering, would this problem disappear over time ?? I saw this post on this particular "fix" sites, which says that it will over time given the glue dispersion from heat and what not. BUT, im just afraid (skeptic here) it would end up like my one plus. Im trying to avoid going back to the reseller as this phone was purchased from a grey importer. Any input from any of you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

a lot of people have yellow spots . the spots are mostly visible in 0% brightness and grey backround. Install dead pixel detect and fix and choose gray from the menu. if the result is not good contact with lg service center to change the screen.
you mentioned also oneplus. I also had oneplus before. it had 2 issues the first one was the led light bleeding and the yellow banding. the led bleeding is only visible down due to the position of led lights of the phone and cannot be fixed. the yellow band was due to the glue that didn't properly fixed. I personally had this issue but after some months It was fixed by the use of the phone. I also let it 2-3 times under direct sunlight for 20-25 minutes.

Just wondering, would it work if id put the Flex 2 under the sun as well? The discolouration is only noticeable, like you said, on Grey background.. wonder if this would go away over time.. thanks again!! :crying::crying:

you can try it but I don't know if the glue is the issue. on the other hand lg has a very good service maybe it can replace your screen if the problem is so obvious

hey, i managed to exchange for another one. Though there is some improvement, the yellow spots are still apparent albeit less noticeable and only in Grey background. Did your's disappear, or at least improve overtime? How is it? I have tried using a 38W UV lamp for nearly an hour and the yellow spots are still there..

you may need to try a lot of screens to find a good one lol. Mine also has some yellow spots visible in grey but I can live with it... I have still 23 months to think about it (warranty)

[Q] Display tilt problem

I've got to the conclusion that my S6 have some screen glass 'problems'. Whenever i tilt it the colors change a little, from that yellowish white it goes to some blue accent; and also the botton of the screen is more white then the top. This is very noticeable indoor with brightness on auto, at the outside i don't really notice some of these 'problems'... I know that all of these things are specific to the amoled category but sometime it's irritating.
I've send an email to the carrier from i bought the phone and they told that the phone will be send in service; and replacement its not possible(i have bought the phone online).
My question to you, should i send the phone to the service ? I mean, it is two weeks old.. will it be the same after a screen replacement ?
I'm knox tripped also but i think this it's not gonna be a problem since it's a hardware issue.
Thanks for your time.

If you're knox tripped, then good luck. You still have warranty (in EU at least) but got to fight for it.
I got pink dots all over my front camera (getting worse and worse) and Samsung say the reason of the pink dots is cause of root, even tho there is documentation for it being a hardware issue on SG6.
So well, if Samsung can get you to pay for the repair in any way, they will.
I wouldn't bother. A repair will come back the same or worse.
Colour shift is normal but still one hundred million times better than any LCD. The white balance is AMOLED all the way and they ALL do it (on S6 and note 4).
I would learn to live with it.

Vertical green line at the middle of the display

Hey everyone,
Sorry if this issue has been discussed before. Couldn't find any similar issue for the A8 2018. I am having a bright, thin green line exactly at the middle of the display for a week now. Bought the phone five months ago, not a single drop, screen protector plus case, so I am quite sure there was no physical damage.
I tried booting the phone in safe mode and dialing *#0*# for the color test: green, red, blue as it might reset any stuck pixels to no avail. The line went away just once after turning off the display and back on.
It sucks if the screen needed to be replaced just after five months of usage. I lost my receipt as well. I was thinking that it might be a software issue and can be solved before sending it to Samsung for screen repair?
Does not sound like software issue sounds like you have a defective screen.
