My phone is dead. I mean my efs is gone i have backup but i cannot restore it. EMMC chip is broken i think. Service center wanted around 200$ for motherboard replacement which is nearly same price for samsung galaxy s4 screen. This is kinda high price for a 2 year old device.
I want to ask if it's possible to flash samsung player rom for my phone? Because i can't put my phone into Airplane mode so this drains my battery in 3 or 4 hours
Hope someone can help me about this..

Hi there, as an owner of a Galaxy S2 i can confirm i dont have any such issues, in the Galaxy S2 specific forum it is very rare to have a faulty phone, i would suggest it is definitely an issue with that specific phone you have. the S2 is the best phone out at the moment, would suggest having it exchanged for a replacement because that is definitely a problem with either the phones hardware or how android is working on your phone.
my hard luck samsung said motherboard is faulty but they said they will replace it or refund it lets see :S even after spending 570EUR u have to suffer as customer
Is it true that all i9003 motherboards should be changed while it's still on warranty because Samsung used cheap parts? And if it was not changed, the phone may not work properly anytime soon?

Does Samsung Galaxy SL i9003 have this problem?
No.
You only change it when the internal memory fails, has nothing to do with being 'cheap'.
My i9003 Internal Memory failed , while I had no warranty , so I didn't get a free motherboard. I had to pay 200 $ for a new motherboard so I decided not to pay.
My friend's I9003 also failed after 7 months of use, He hopes he get a Motherboard for free.
Consider it whatever you want, cheap parts, bad manufacturing, Bad quality, ..... etc . But the only thing that we know for sure, is that I had to buy a new phone.

yeah, My phone's IMEI and Baseband got corrupted, first I thought that this might be due to EFS damage, but I had to replace the mother board to recover the phone! Rs.17000 (LKR) gone!

I'd like to know as well. My usb port has stopped working. It won't charge or connect to my pc. Verizon doesn't want to fix it. They just want to replace the phone.

I'm confused.. why wouldn't you want to have the phone replaced? I'd take a brand new phone any day. Of course assuming it's actually new and not a "like new" refurbished one..
just curious is all.
And on the OP's question - I did a google search for s4 battery door covers and found some pretty legit looking sites that sold all kinds of different colors. While perusing on the sites for other stuff they had I saw they had replacement parts for the s4 as well as other phones. I don't remember the actual site but I recall there being many, many search results that sold parts, cases, chargers & other accessories. Hope that helps? Sorry for not having a particular site but maybe my reply gets you closer to what you seek.
Good Luck!

Well my s4 is rooted and I have it setup just the way I like and it is working great. No lag, good battery life, etc. I use wireless charging on the phone to charge it so the port is doesn't have to be repaired as I can still charge the phone. I have the stock samsung battery as well as 2 3000mah zero lemon batteries and charger for them. I can usually go 15-20 hrs on a single charge with the zl battery with wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc running all day.
The biggest reason of not wanting to get a replacement is the issue of root with a new phone. With the new or refurbished phones possibly coming with the newest update, It might not be possible to root the new one they send me right now. I dunno if someone has a work around for the new update yet. I haven't been keeping up with it since I've been rooted close to the release of the phone. If root is possible how easy is it? It only prob took me 10-15 mins to root and flash a new rom to my s4 with the one click root.

Root is easy, recovery isn't possible right now.
So if you're using stock rom with root, freezing aps etc, then just get a new phone.
If you got a rom loaded and it's crucial, then wait I guess.
You could titanium back up and restore what you can with your new phone.

I think I'll just stick with what I got for now. Between wireless charging and the charger that comes with the zero lemon batteries I'm ok. Never had wireless charging before and can't see living w/out it now. It's a great feature. I'm running the newest release of hyperdrive and really liking it right now. Very stable, everything works, battery life is pretty good. Would like to flash a nice kernel and get this Quad Core Manager+ app working right on my s4. Had something similar on my htc evo 3d that shut the 2nd core down in sleep mode and dropped the 1st core to 486 mhz. My battey life was crazy. Like standby with wifi on, bluetooth, gps on and losing maybe a percent of my battery every 6-8 hrs.

Hi all,
I'm confused and very hesitant about upgrading , I have a note 4 and like I said I'm very hesitant and reluctant to upgrade because I don't want to be a slave to a charger.....this is the number one reasons I hate Iphones besides not being able to expand the memory you can't switch out the battery, and you become as I stated a slave to a charger. Also I want to know if you are rooted & running the latest software does it make a difference what device you have? I know a friend of mine who has an s6 and I know one who has a note 5&6 their constantly charging it because the battery is constantly dying. can anyone tell me why I should upgrade to a note 5 if I cant expand the memory?
Can anyone tell me weather I'm doing the right thing, Or can anyone tell me anything to rest aside my fears concerning upgrading. ......thanks

How did you root it w/o being able to take off the back or taking out the battery especially if it overheats ?
A friend of mine just got a brand new note 5 & a s7 & she's complaining the battery is over heating & dying quick.

Well, I was trying to help. Perhaps a better choice would be a Samsung Jitterbug.
The Note5 is an amazing phone. I wish there weren't as many variants around the world, so that the development was consolidated, though...
Anyway! You don't need to take out the battery to root. You cannot access the battery with this phone. If it overheats, and I don't think mine ever has, it will just shut off (theoretically), or you can hold down power, home, and down volume buttons to reboot it.
If you wait a few weeks, the market will be flooded with used Note5's, so you might be able to pick one up for cheap.
Just wait until the Note 8

ROFL. I'm dead!
Hello guys I bought a 3g t mobile gear S2 past year on eBay.l, on September. The thing is I move vlback to Chile mid this year and about three weeks ago my device just won't turn on. When I put it on the charger a red light appears but nothing else. I'm very noon on this area so I don't know what to do.
Samsung on my country says that I have to send it to USA for warranty, but first I want to try every thing I can to avoid the shipping, cause is a pain in the ass, besides the money and the time it will take.
Thanks a lot

Can you give exact model name...
Reason for this question...
With SM-R720(X) and SM-R732(X) we could charge battery in this way... via USB cable and soldered wires.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72097974&postcount=113
I saw 1 Picture from 1 device... where Connectors could be under the straps... without opening device...
Not tested nor confirmed...
Did you tried to hold Power on for an long time... maybe you start menu where Download Modes inside...
You treid other charger... maybe only your charger/cradle is dead or halfdead...
Best Regards
Found Picture on my HDD...
Still I have no idea which Gear S2 model it is... so I can not check Pinout...
Maybe somebody knows which Model is visible on this Picture...
So we could check Service Manual maybe...
Best Regards
in the back of the watch says the model... where the sensor is...
cheers!!!
I have the same problem. Watch was at 34% and working fine and then suddenly shut off. It's been on the charger for an hour now and still won't turn on.
Hello, thanx for Photo.
Very interesting they print also Firmware Version on it... right upper side.
I can see ATT SM-R730A.
If you are in US... as sometimes Users from other Countries buys also US devices...
I suggest you to contact ATT Service Center...
Maybe they will replace Battery... if battery is damaged.
If you like "Adventures"...
SM-R730A seems also have external connectors like SM-R765... look here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/sm-r765f-teardown-t3659431
But this is dangerous/risky...
So I would start with contact ATT and ask about Repair...
Battery seems not very expensive... 30 $...
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Genuine-Sams...538513?hash=item51fd26f051:g:AVYAAOSwaxlZjv5P
Only as example... no idea if SM-R730A require other battery...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Seems for SM-R730A... EB-BR730ABE
http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Battery...G-EB-BR730ABE-SM-R730A-SM-R735A-/322626951513
So the other Gear S2 batteries are different...
