ExtSDcard issues... Please help - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok so I haven't downloaded roms or had to move anything to my ext sd card in a while, but now when I do it shows the files moved and when I restart my phone the files disappear. It won't even be on my internal sd card. So I'd have to re-download whatever it was I downloaded... Which is a bit of a pain in the ass since I don't have wifi right now or service on the phone. Is there anyone else with this issue that has a fix or some advice or help in any way? Any input Wuld b greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried reformatting the sdcard? Format it to fat32 and see how it works after that. If you have a spare sdcard, see if you can reproduce the issue on there. If it does not happen on this second card then the original is faulty or at least well on its way.

It's possible your SD card is failing. The S3 sort of has a reputation for killing them.

I would try what Fingers said. I had the same problem once with Illusion rom (liquid ripoff) and reformatted and was all set.

Sd card?

So my 16g sd card suddenly stopped working one day. It won't let me write anything to it or delete anything.
I tried on my computer to format it, but it doesn't work. I know it's not my phone cause my other sd works just fine.
Any ways if someone could help me find a fix for the stupid sd card that would be awesome. I this 8g isn't big enough please help.

Have you tried formatting it from your phone? Sometimes, formatting it on your computer doesn't work. If formatting it from your phone does not work, you may have a bad sd card. :/
Good luck!

Yes, try downloading a bootable gparted image, burn it on cd or set it up on an sdcard, and try to format it with that.
Maybe it will work with that, else you have to return it to the shop if it still has warranty.

Problem with sd card on AOKP JB builds

First off I love this rom. I am having a problem with the external sd card. Everytime I have flashed this rom..I set my phone up how I like it all synced up with all my preffered apps. After I do a backup I get a bad sd card message. I try unmounting it then mounting it back and the phone still can't read it. It also did it with another card I have. I have followed all intructions fir flashing this to a T. Anyone else having this issue??
Problem solved. Phone apparently was damaged after I dropped it.

Memory Issues

Hey guys,
Somehow through me messing with my phone I made it believe I have 2 external sd cards as well as my internal memory. The internal memory is the same as my first sd card and the ext_sd is my actual internal. Would anyone know how I can go about fixing this? It's not crucial to my phone it is just inconvenient and confusing when I'm moving files around. I have attached a screen shot of my file sizes from titanium backup. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Mine looks exactly like this, you didn't do anything wrong that's just how TB is. I'm on version 5.5.1.2 so it's nothing that you did. I honestly didn't notice until you posted this and I'll forget shortly after too.

Did yiu get this fixed yet?
No I have not. I think it happened when I reformatted my sd card. I think it is just something I have to live with.

There is nothing wrong. Everyone's is like this. Internal and SD are the same thing depending on which app is looking at it. Recovery and root explorer call it SD and External SD.. It is internal and it is actually considered SD. External is your removable sd card.

External sd card not recognized

Suddenly my sd card is not being recognized. How do I fix this?

Has anything changed on your setup? As in maybe you flashed a new ROM or reformatted the card, etc??
If not then I suggest you remove the sdcard and see if you can mount it on a PC using a card reader. If the PC can't read the sdcard either then its probably corrupted and needs to be reformatted or replaced.
If it's a Sandisk card and a Samsung device that might be the issue. You can "google" it and will find that some people are having issues with that combination. I personally don't seem to be affected by this issue. I have Sandisk in both my S3 and Note 10.1 and have yet to encounter any problems.
I would do what the other person posted and if it reads fine in your computer it might be the issue I mentioned.

[Q] [Cm10.1] Memory card unmounted after reboot?

Hi people
As I reboot my phone, the internal sd card is always unmounted. What could be causing this? I had this problem on all versions of Cm10.1
And before shifting to A6, I had also done a clean a clean install.
Help please :'(

Same here
Exact same problem here. Only way to avoid this "bug" is rebooting without external sd card, then internal sd card is detected, but it is so annoying... If someone knows real fix, please help us!
I'll see if it this works. But isn't that even more annoying? To remove external sd then insert again? I'd rather go into settings and mount sd
