Has anything changed on your setup? As in maybe you flashed a new ROM or reformatted the card, etc??
If not then I suggest you remove the sdcard and see if you can mount it on a PC using a card reader. If the PC can't read the sdcard either then its probably corrupted and needs to be reformatted or replaced.

If it's a Sandisk card and a Samsung device that might be the issue. You can "google" it and will find that some people are having issues with that combination. I personally don't seem to be affected by this issue. I have Sandisk in both my S3 and Note 10.1 and have yet to encounter any problems.
I would do what the other person posted and if it reads fine in your computer it might be the issue I mentioned.

[Q] damaged SD card

I recently installed cm7 On my phone and it says that my SD Card is damaged and can't be read, so I formatted it and it still can't be read, does anyone know how to fix this
what i find fixes mine is, going to my computer and right clicking on the sd card and go to property, then scan and fix errors.
I also experience this issue on a regular basis. I think the issue is with formatting, and the way i always fix it is reformatting in windows to FAT32. If i format in Mac it never works, has to be windows. It makes no sense, but thats my experience with the problem.

when i first flashed cm7 i saw that and it scared the crap out of me. I went to settings-storage and re-mounted the sd card and it was dandy.
I formatted my 16gb card in a digital camera and, it worked fine after that.

I have done this also - try that first. If another device reads the card OK - it does not need reformatting.
That happened to mine too...Need to buy another 8gb one.
I just pop it out and back in and it usually wakes back up but sometimes it takes a reboot

Galaxy S3 wont read 16gb micro sd?

So I have a 16b micro sd card that came with my OG Droid 2 years ago. I formatted it with fat32 and exfat and trying both still cant be read by my S3. If I insert it in, the S3 doesnt read anything (and no trace of any sd card being there). I also have another 16gb sd card that is class 4 and it also cant be read. I know both SD cards are working fine because they still work on my Droid but for some reason it wont on my S3.
Could it be because I partitioned both cards? I've already formatted it and got rid of the partition so idk. And whats weird is that my 2gb sd card from like 4 years ago works and is readable on my S3. Could someone help?
I would reformat on your computer again, I have had no issues with any SD card on my S3.
I had same issues with an old card that had barely been used.Broke down & bought a Samsung card.Cost extra cpl $ but have had 0 problems since.

Anyone get a solution to this? Just bought a brand new 32GB class 10 MicroSD, I formatted exFAT and NTFS using my computer but NTFS isn't read on the card and exFAT keeps getting the "unexpectedly removed" notification every 5 seconds...
Fat32 means I can't store files larger than 700mb right? i.e. a hi-res movie won't work?
Fat32 is the only way i could get my 64gb ultra -1 card to be read in cwm. Use the program from ridge crop. I believe your limited to files no larger than 2 or 4gb, cant remember off hand.

4GB. Movies if not compressed may need to be split or run from Internal. Good reason for having 32GB internal.

And my siblings are apple/iphone lovers because they don't know how great Android is. I'm just glad they had there laptops. I have had a hell of a weekend trying to get my new 64gb card recognised by my SGS3 after swapping from Omega rom to AOKP. Turns out roms based on Cyanogen Mod dont recognise exFAT formatted cards and so corrupt them. I eventually managed to reformat my card using EaseUS partition manager but my phone still wont recognise it. Im going to flash back to Omega 31.1 in the morning and hopefully solve most of the problems. I know the card works fine because after formating it my Acer A500 recognises it, as does my PC. Problems is my phone isnt recognising any MicroSd cards now, so hopefully havent busted it or ill have to flash back to stock rom and swap it out at Tesco's.

Trouble with 64gb SD card

Anyone have this card http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007W...-5410429?ref_=pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_SC_dp_1 or any 64gb SD card? I'm having a problem getting cwm to recognize it. I already reformatted it and still it does not work in cwm. Anyone know anything about this? My 32gb card works just fine

I guess cwm does not support exfat which the gs3 defaults to when formatting 64gb cards. I found out here http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...ting-roms-hacks/184708-64gb-micro-sd-cwm.html I need to partition the card with a program. I'll do that tomorrow I'm going to bed lol

One of those "believe it or not" things: the SDXC (SD eXtended Capacity = 64GB or more) specification says that the default (factory) format is exFAT. The GS3 recognizes both exFAT and FAT32, but some ROMS do not support exFAT due to Microsoft's funky licensing.

You don't need to partition it. You need to format it to Fat32 as was mentioned.
I am now on my 3rd 64GB MicroSD, the same one in OP.
It works when I get it, but it preformatted as exFat, which wont work with ROM.
The first 2 SDs I used EaseUS Partition to format as Fat32. Format went fine, but when I went to place files on card, card unmounted. This last one I used Ridgecorp’s Fat32Format, but same problem.
When I insert card, Win7 sees it, but if I go to format/write it disconnects.
Before I send this third one back to amazon, any ideas how to format it?
FYI, I took the last one to a frien with a mac to see if he could fix it, after i tried to format Fat32, but no luck.

Yea, I believe that's the same card I have(had for working on 3 1/2 months now) and I used the Ridgecorp GUI utility in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773735 to format it as soon as I got it.
I've loaded it with music and continue to play said music all the time, use my ext for all my ROM downloading and storage. I access it all the time thru the phone and computer with no problems attributed to the card. (Some ROMs screw with my computer seeing my phone period)
Surprise! TW UI Did the trick!
S'up Crew
I don't know if this would apply to anyone on this thread but I bought a SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC and my SGS3 Wouldn't recognize the card and all.
At the time I was running CM10 Stable.
After trying several different methods found around the forums (both here and external) nothing worked.
W7 would only recognize it as a 32GB because of OS limitations and with every single third party software I tried it was always the same thing (32GB only).
So on a whim I decided to try a slightly different approach.
I flashed a backup I had of the Original Touch Whiz UI I had laying around back onto the device. Shoved the SD card into it and LO and BEHOLD.. It recognized the card.. Erased the Contents and Formated it properly!
I went into Titanium Backup to see if it actually worked and there it was..
63.xGB.. Woohoo!
So apparently CM has problems seeing a 64GB MircoSDXC correctly and the Stock Touch Whiz UI OS works nicely to see it and format it.
Hope this helps the next person who reads this!
I formatted my 64GB class 10 card in my Mac to fat32 and it has worked fine since.
CWM sees it as that size, TWRP does, both my Mac and PC do.

Note 10.1 sd card won't mount.

Hey guys, I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and I just got a SanDisk 64Gb class 10 micro sd card for it. I have the same cars for my S4 and it works fine. However when I insert the new card into my note it says "checking sd card" and then will immediately say "safe to remove sd card". I can write and format the card in my computer and when I format it to NTSF (which I know android won't read) I get it to tell me that I need to format the sd card which I do and it works fine. Then once format is compete it does the same problem.
I put the new card into my S4 and it mounted fine. Now before you tell me it's a problem with my Note 10.1 read this:
I have a 8Gb SanDisk microSD that works just fine. Also when I put the 64Gb card in and boot to TWRP recovery I can mount and write to the card just fine.
I am running Hyper Drive rtl3 and I had the problem. So I wiped and updated to hyper drive rtl4 and the problem still exists.
I'm really baffled by this problem. Any ideas guys?
Also after I post this I plan to take the 64gb card that is in my S4 and trying it in my note. I'll post back what happens.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Sadly, formatting my Samsung 64GB UHC to FAT 32 from eFAT didn't help. As before, when I slip the card into the slot for a microsecond the "Mount SD Card" appears then greys out and in the tastbar appears "Preparing SD card checking for errors" and this message stays there for eternity or until I either take the card out or reboot.

[Q] Galaxy S3 not reading any SD cards?

My i9305T Galaxy S3 is not reading micro SD cards at all. I have tried using the cards in my computer, and they work fine. My phone, on booting has a notification that states "Preparing SD card; Checking for errors.", Then after a minute or two, has another notification stating that the SD card is safe to remove. I have tried with multiple SD cards, they all work in a PC, but not my phone.
