Memory Issues - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys,
Somehow through me messing with my phone I made it believe I have 2 external sd cards as well as my internal memory. The internal memory is the same as my first sd card and the ext_sd is my actual internal. Would anyone know how I can go about fixing this? It's not crucial to my phone it is just inconvenient and confusing when I'm moving files around. I have attached a screen shot of my file sizes from titanium backup. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Mine looks exactly like this, you didn't do anything wrong that's just how TB is. I'm on version 5.5.1.2 so it's nothing that you did. I honestly didn't notice until you posted this and I'll forget shortly after too.

Did yiu get this fixed yet?

No I have not. I think it happened when I reformatted my sd card. I think it is just something I have to live with.

There is nothing wrong. Everyone's is like this. Internal and SD are the same thing depending on which app is looking at it. Recovery and root explorer call it SD and External SD.. It is internal and it is actually considered SD. External is your removable sd card.

ROM Manager partitioning questions.

Hi all
Was wondering if I should take advantage of the partitioning tool in rom manager. Should I empty out my sdcard before using this? Will titanium backup know where to put the apps when I move them to the sdcard after installation? 256 or 512?
Thanks
Heeter

dont partition your internal sd card. its not needed and its a bad idea. its not as easy to replace as an external sd card when you mess it up. you can already install apps to sd without it.
Thanks for your response

From what I've read, the Nexus S actually has a NAND chip instead of an internal SD, so imo, partitioning like that is even worse

(Q) move apps to internal sd??

Is there anyway possible to move apps to your internal sd instead of external sd?

EDIT: Disregard. I was wrong.
I've tried this multiple times and it doesn't work. It sends them to my external sd no matter what. I have been searching everywhere and I don't think you can move them to internal sd. Thanks though.

Okay, you're right. They don't go to the internal sd. Thought I had read that they do, and in the app manager, it showed them as being on the 13gb partition. Just pulled my SD card, and the apps don't show up. So, it would be nice to know how to put them on the internal card.
Alright, making this happen involves editing /system/etc/vold.fstab and moving the .android_secure folder from your external SD to your internal SD.
See the thread linked below. Study the first vold.fstab file there and make the same changes, and move your .android_secure folder. I did this and now I really do have most of my apps on the internal SD.

Thanks for finding that. I appreciate it. I'm going to have to try it later on this evening.

I finally tried this and I could not get it to work. I tried a few times and nothing.

Worked for me. You can replace your vold.fstab with the first download in that thread if your edits didn't work. Move your app folder using a PC, reboot, and it should work. This just swaps how the system uses those partitions. It worked too well for me. I ended up preferring the default setup since I change roms so much.

Does this do a full reversal of the sd cards? The reason i ask is because i have a few games that have extra data (mostly gameloft games) that i would like to move to my external sd because they will only play if they are on my internal. I have a 16gb external that i would like to put the game data on.

Yeah, this reverses the cards so that the external sd is seen as the internal and vice-versa by the device. So any data stored by apps on one card would now go to the other. This is one reason I haven't continued using this mod, but it may work for what you want.

Do you mean use the 16gb instead of internal memory?

The internal SD card is not removable
No i mean the internal sd the one inside the phone it only has 2gb.i once had a hd2 and changed the internal sd for a bigger one so i though i could do the same with this phone. Is it possible??
Or mount the 16gb as internal.

I really don't know about that but what I did was just change my download path to the external_sd within whatever app I was downloading from

Erm, the phone has built in memory, and then expandable memory from the microSD slot. Use a larger microSD and install your apps or transfer whatever media you have to that instead of the internal memory. You can also set your camera to save images to the microSD instead of the phone's internal memory.
The games install by default to internal sd and i don't have space for games only one fits and can't dl. Eny more that's my biggest problem and cant make the games install the data to external sd.

if you flash the cm7 port your external sd will be in your sdcard path like normal, and internal will be under an emmc folder instead. as far as i know thats your only option
We(tfq) are working on separating the sdcard and external sdcard like in cm7...it'll be emmc for internal ans sdcard for external SD
It does take time so waiting is crucial we are working on a lot of stuff for you guys

All photos and Videos missing from Xoom

This is the second time that this has happened. I lost all my video and photo files from my xoom and SD card. Im not sure why. Does anyone know how to get these files back?
Also i noticed that in both times that this happened my SD card had begin to duplicate my files as well. Soon after every folder on my sd card was duplicated 4x all my files was deleted. Now is there anyway to re-acquire these files? PLEASE HELP.
No way that I know of to get them back on the internal, but there are a couple apps that support the external SD. There is no way to recover internal storage because it is a fuse filesystem and nothing supports recovery from it, not even PC applications because it's not mountable as UMS.

Can you recommend an app that worked for you or that you know work for sure?
Never used an android app. But I have successfully used R-Studio which is approximately $80 retail, but works wonders.

ExtSDcard issues... Please help

Ok so I haven't downloaded roms or had to move anything to my ext sd card in a while, but now when I do it shows the files moved and when I restart my phone the files disappear. It won't even be on my internal sd card. So I'd have to re-download whatever it was I downloaded... Which is a bit of a pain in the ass since I don't have wifi right now or service on the phone. Is there anyone else with this issue that has a fix or some advice or help in any way? Any input Wuld b greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried reformatting the sdcard? Format it to fat32 and see how it works after that. If you have a spare sdcard, see if you can reproduce the issue on there. If it does not happen on this second card then the original is faulty or at least well on its way.

It's possible your SD card is failing. The S3 sort of has a reputation for killing them.
I would try what Fingers said. I had the same problem once with Illusion rom (liquid ripoff) and reformatted and was all set.
