Is it possible to have games I installed in my phone be on my external sd card as in the one that is removable because I see no point in having an sd card that I can't really save anything to

You can edit the /system/etc/vold.fstab file to swap the mount points of the internal and external/removable sdcards. So after you edit it, the mount point of the external/removable card would be /mnt/sdcard and the internal/non-removable card would be /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD. I can't figure out a way to change the mount point of the internal card to anything other than that but at least it makes your removable card your primary one which is what you want.
Hi
I am coming from the Vibrant. There, I never used my own SD CARD. I always used the phone's storage. It was always fine.
But now I just flashed to CM and when I wanted to take a pic, it said "please insert SD card before ...."
huh? does the G2x doesn't have enough space - even for ONE picture?
I am sure I am missing something here
Thank you!!!

Internal memory is 8gb but free space is roughly 5.2 gbs.
You need to have an external SD card with the way cm7 is formatted the internal SD card is mounted as mnt/emmc.
Not sure if you can change your download folder to mnt/emmc as I never have tried.
There is I believe if I recall correctly a flash that changes the internal memory card from emmc to reg browse the threads in dev you'll surely find it there

There's an option in cyanogenmod settings>application
That does that for you. Called use internal storage or something. Tap it and reboot.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
cyanogenmod settings -> application -> use internal storage
check this, reboot, and the internal storage should be mounted on /sdcard and /mnt/sdcard, while external sd card (if exists) will be mounted on /mnt/emmc
There is a 2GB for apps if I am not mistaken.

roughly 1.5gb for apps, with link2sd that 1.5gb is very generous since only some cache files are stored on internal and everything else being linked to the ext partition on sdcard. I have over 450+ apps/games on my phone atm using link2sd and reccomend it to anyone else who also likes installing tons of apps.

This is a hack that that allows you to swap internal storage with your external SD card so you can increase your app data storage.
All credits go to original i9300 App2ExtSD Hack by mattiadj. I simply hacked it to work with U.S. versions and also I've added code so it will disable this feature when you don't have a microSD card inserted (app storage will default to internal when no microSD card is inserted).
E.g. If you have 16GB internal storage on Galaxy S3, you can install this witih a 64GB microSD card and swap the storage and get 64GB on your app storage instead of 16GB.
Before you can use this, you will need:
1) Rooted Galaxy S3 (SCH-I535/SPH-L710/SGH-T999/SCH-I747) or also Canadian versions too (i747m, etc...etc...)
2) A ROM/kernel with init.d support!
3) I've only tested this with TouchWiz-based ROMs, so it should work on stock ROMs and any TouchWiz-based ROMs, not sure on CM9 or CM10.
4) You must use the FAT32 or EXTFAT zip file below, depending on what format your microSD Card is in! (e.g. if you have a FAT32 microSD card, use FAT32)
To get this working, simply flash the zip files in your CWM Recovery:
Download and Details:
http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-t...-external-microsd-for-u-s-canadian-galaxy-s3/
If you do not have init.d support, you can also enable on any rooted phone by using Script Manager, here's a quick tutorial:
I recommend you to FORMAT your microSD card once to get camera working flawless before using this hack!
How to disable this:
If for some reason you are having trouble, simply delete /system/etc/init.d/11extsd2internalsd.
OR
if you leave your microSD card out during boot (then re-insert it after), your phone will work as normal (internal storage used for app data).
Nevermind, I thought it was a data2sd type thing, not just an SD swap. This is very nice! I prefer everything to be on my external card!
How do you know if your card is exfat or fat32?

I use GL to SD for that. I think the mod is a great idea, but after seeing so many non-readers, surely some Rom flashers will format the wrong partition and bring their blame to the devs...sad really.
What I would like to see is a mod that brings back android 2.x "move app to SD" functionality.

If you have a microsd card adapter (i highly recommend having one), plug it into your computer and do right click->properties for windows, others should be similar. Go google it.
Thanks man! Been wanting this since day 1 and almost started regretting getting a 16gb S3.
Downloading now and will be testing out in my FAT32 64gb sdcard on Synergy 1.7.
EDIT: should have investigated further about what this is doing.
Note that if you want to delete, you must use a ROOT Explorer, and Enable Both Root and Mounting of System to delete the file.
Sent from my Rooted, Synergized (1.7) and now unlocked bootloader VZW S3!

If you play a lot of games, GTA is like almost 1GB, the real 16GB internal only provides 10GB in reality, meaning if you play more than 10 games like GTA you run out of space real quick.
But I don't use that much space.

It will only work if the kernel in synergy has int.d support...i believe it does but dont quote me.
OK, can I flash it anyways to test if it works or will it soft brick me if I don't have the kernel?

Yes, will not harm even a bird.
Can I flash this even if my current SD Card has data on it or do I need to format and delete all data on my card before using this?

You can, but my advise is to start fresh with an empty SD card so you don't get confused later.
I flashed this at the same when flashing Bean's latest and greatest. So now I see the SDcard and EXTSDcard show the same files and the same size. How can I browse the Internal SD? It does not appear when I plug it in my computer or when browsing using Root Explorer or Astro

Might be not compatible with Bean's. That happens when the script isn't working correctly, you should see two different sizes.
everything i want to download from internet even if its 6MB it says Sd card full even if i have 2gb free.
Did u set internal storage as default ?if your internal storage is full,it won't save file to sdcard even you have 2gb free there.

i dont know but i also have 4.26GB free internal storage.I can download market apps but when i download a apk from internet it says sd card full
That's bad, maybe something's wrong with your system,or sdcard corrupted.try to use another sdcard and see that if you still have that problem.

I have a Galaxy S2 and S3. My S2 only has 2gb of allocated memory dedicated for apps and all the other memory is partitioned to a the SD Card by default (not the ext SD Card). This is annoying because 2GB gets used up very quick when installing apps and the phone will reboot and perform poorly when the 2gb is used up. I don’t like having the SD Card storage. If I want more storage I can simply add a ext SD card. Is there any way to adjust like my S3 where by default all the integrated storage is listed under Device memory?
Iv seen and tried this fixes link2sd but this was too unstable and had issues after reboot with some of the apps.
I am rooted and would appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
Lol what kind of crap do you put on your phone?
What I'm getting here is that you want more space allocated to internal stage for apps, right?
The only way to do that is to use apps2sd. Even then, you're not increasing the internal memory, just moving the app onto sd storage

It seems like he means the 2gb gets used up. The internal SD is about 11.25 GB no? All he's gotta do is move them from the 2gb partition to the internal SD partition.

Go into app storage and go to the "move to sd section". And check off your large apps and they will be moved to the internal SD.
