At least according to this dev (A reliable source for HTC things), if HOX has zero chance of getting KK, I guess we have fewer chances
We will always have custom rom options tho

i would expect no different. i also expect that kk roms will be available here.
It's been well known for a while that the 4.2.2 update would be the last official update that our device receives. Like you said though, devs will probably bring it to us via cm based ROMs if possible.

Considering that HTC One ROMs have seen their way over here (with varying levels of success) isn't it possible that if the One gets an update, we may benefit from that?
As far as I know, there has only been one HTC One ROM that booted, which was r1 - r3.7 MagioRom, and that was a port of a port (ported to evo lte then to Evita).
Our best bet is going to be aosp.

That's up to the cm developer (h8rift), and whether our phone can handle it.
And no, like I said earlier in this thread, HTC won't be updating us to 4.3, this recent 4.2.2 update is the last official update we'll see.

Not surprised at all by this, but I'm also not a fan of CM battery life on this phone. I'll probably just get a new phone when the KK itch hits me.

Kickdroid was based on the stock AT&T One ROM, as was carl1961's UrDroid.

Of course, nearly anything is possible. It just depends on how fired up the devs are, and whether they have the time for it.

I've been running the latest 4.3 aosp ROMs (carbon, slimbean, illusion) and I'm getting fantastic battery life. Aosp has come a long way in terms of battery consumption.

So what does the June 4th update mean for me. Will Trickdroid 3.0 be updated then? Should I wait to flash then?
Once updates come out usually devs will work in putting the changes into their roms.
I'm personally waiting to flash a rom til after this update

I doubt this is 4.0.4... I think there might be a few radio fixes and tweaks but nothing indicates a newer ics version. I guess we'll find out on the 4th.

but it´s only for T-Mobile´s phones i hope european users can install that OTA quickly i feel with 1.78 i have less network than 1.53..
I still see nothing that indicates an update to 4.0.4. The release mentions 4.0.3 though.

Yea, the note says it is still 4.0.3. Is there anything even worth while in 4.0.4 that it is so important other than a number upgrade? Going back the the OP, yes, ROMs like TrickDroid will update the base to the latest. It is for T-MobUS, but I'm sure our boys across the pond will get soon. I'm sure EU ROMs like LeeDroid will update as well as soon as the update is released on the 4th.

I forget the specifics, but yes, 4.0.4 brings a significant number of improvements, 100+, but nothing you'd notice UI wise. They're all just tweaks to the existing code.

I have the Verizon GS3 and I have been rooted for about a month now but I kept the stock rom. What are the most stable roms available for the GS3 at this point? Also, the other day I recieved a notification on my phone that an OTA was available to download and install. I declined the update for now because I wasn't sure if it was safe to install it. Is it safe to install the OTA on a rooted phone with a stock rom?

It is safe. Has to be locked and on stock recovery with all stock apps intact. Will lose root and maybe wipe Internal SD. Not sure. Have never taken an OTA on any device.

Your bootloader is not unlocked. Search for EZ Unlock 1.2, run it on your rooted phone, and you will be fine. Make sure you backup everything like the stickies say!!!

Most of the TW ROMS are pretty stable. Some of the others have various problems, read in the 2 dev sections about each ROM and it will tell you what is broken. I know, that is alot of reading. But, think of it this way, if you break your phone, that will (should) cost you at least $60 for jtag service. If you read, you can see if you even want to try the ROM. There could be bugs with it that you can't live with. Then again, there could be bugs that you could.

Might not got round to it and with a bit of luck he can cheat and use source from the S4 for it which should save lots of time but that best left until CM10 where the camera is working well.

Honest question for anyone who's smart enough to flash ROMs... why would you ever take the AT&T OTA over what you have from the ROM community? I understand for those who don't want to ROM for whatever reason, but for those who do... AT&T's 4.1 is already going to be behind what we have now, most likely, and certainly won't have the enhancements....
Lol. Too good to be true..

I'm mostly interested in the fact it gives our community another base to develop off of, as well as the possibility of a new radio. Never hurts to have options!

Yeah I know lol. Hope I didn't sound like I needed it. I'm running clean rom just fine. It's similar to what they did to the captivate's official gingerbread update -- it took forever and it wasn't that much of an update compared to what the devs already accomplished with cm7

Htc desire sv has officially Ics 4.0.4 rom. And Htc will not give any upgrade to our device. They are saying that you can install a custom rom if you want. But there is no jb rom for desire sv. A lot of desire sv users try to port jb rom to our devices. But they didn't manage it. Because desire sv has Dual SIM. We thought that nobody can port a useful jb rom to Desire Sv.
But I saw that HTC product a new device that has dual sim card with Jelly Bean 4.1.2. And this device's name is Desire 500. Now I think that a big person, a great developer can port this device's JB rom to our Desire SV's. And we can have Jelly Bean rom.
Thanks.
Here is the rom of desire 500 for you to port it to desire sv: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6WBFlAKqe30QVNYelN1UzZhUHc/edit?usp=sharing

Agree with you. HTC used to be great with Windows phones, providing earliest updates to users. Now they just dont care of the updates. I bought the Desire SV just because of my previous notion. And now it seems HTC does not plan to upgrade D-SV to any newer version. Seems they are only upgrading their flagship phones. Too bad. No more HTC for me.
Hello guys, You can have JB rom but first you need to develop Linux kernel 3.4 or bring ION support to your existing 3.0.21 kernel. Only then, JB rom can boot on your device.
