Most stable GS3 roms and OTA update - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have the Verizon GS3 and I have been rooted for about a month now but I kept the stock rom. What are the most stable roms available for the GS3 at this point? Also, the other day I recieved a notification on my phone that an OTA was available to download and install. I declined the update for now because I wasn't sure if it was safe to install it. Is it safe to install the OTA on a rooted phone with a stock rom?

It is safe. Has to be locked and on stock recovery with all stock apps intact. Will lose root and maybe wipe Internal SD. Not sure. Have never taken an OTA on any device.

These stable rom best rom threads are getting out of hand just read this thread and make your decision.

That post just explains the difference between all the different types of roms. I'm just looking for a rom where pretty much everything works. Is it really all that difficult to say "(insert rom here) is the most stable rom in my opinion"??

Can anyone tell me why every time I try to flash a ROM after I have taken all the OTA updates (on VRLGHE) when my phone re-boots I get the verizon screen saying I have unapproved software and take to a verizon store.
Thanks

Your bootloader is not unlocked. Search for EZ Unlock 1.2, run it on your rooted phone, and you will be fine. Make sure you backup everything like the stickies say!!!

Most of the TW ROMS are pretty stable. Some of the others have various problems, read in the 2 dev sections about each ROM and it will tell you what is broken. I know, that is alot of reading. But, think of it this way, if you break your phone, that will (should) cost you at least $60 for jtag service. If you read, you can see if you even want to try the ROM. There could be bugs with it that you can't live with. Then again, there could be bugs that you could.

Changing cpu clock speed on stock Rom

Hi all
I am very new to android and in fact SR is my first android phone. I got it rooted last night and was able to uninstall bloatwares using TBU. i have been reading threads about custom kernels and roms that will make my phone faster. but as i have no knowledge on how to get back to stock rom nor want to risk it. i was wondering if i can just overclock cpu speed by using setCPU application from market to 1.836. i heard some people got good antutu scores with it. (obviously with custom kernels and roms though) or i have to have custom kernel and rom to manipulate CPU speed? any answer would be appreciated. thank you

Will need to flash DaG'S kernel and you will not be stable at anything higher than 1.78.... I'm using it with stock rom and getting about 6800 on Antu..

If you installed cwm you can make a nandroid backup, if your new kernal goes silly on ya just restore the backup. All of the questions you have are easily found in the skyrocket forums. Dont forget to check the stickies too.

I tried to install cwm recovery mode from Rom manager but skyrocket was not on the list in Rom manager. is this normal? Do i need paid version for SR?

When using Rom Manager to flash CWM, choose the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 as the one for the Skyrocket.

No one has "Official" ICS yet. Just the leak that may become official. Its not official until AT&T puts their stamp on it and releases it publicly.

Of course it does and yes it's reversible. I don't think you should be messing with anything though with questions like that
depending on the next nexus device i might jump ship just for AOSP and updates. Waiting on manufacturers and carriers to get their butts in gear is annoying. But im happy with my skyrocket for now and will ride it out on my contract.
Also, a 0.0.1 update isnt that big of a deal. If its a 1.0.0 update, or a 0.1.0 update i would be jealous.

People have questions dont need to blunt them down when they arent unsure. I know how to mess with Androids rooted/unlocked and messed with every feature possible on my Nexus S.
Just got my Skyrocket yesterday, refurb from att for 20$. As of now i have both phones. I was just wondering because on the NS im able to root and unroot. with the skyrocket i havent seen an simple root/unroot. I have 90 days to test it out and return it. So thats why i was asking because if I install ICS on it, and something messes up i would like a new one. Simple question.

Nexus seems to be a much better choice at this point.
Only knock on it is the 5.0 MP camera...
Better resolution, bigger screen, and no carrier crap... *sigh*

V21y update the way I got it!

Somehow I figured out a way to get the update. What I did was to download a nandroid backup here on the XDA site. Restored it then installed the 2.3.4 rooted rom I got off the XDA site. Wammo update installed. It seemed a whole lot easer than the other ways I read about doing it. Thanks XDA and members.

SKYROCKET- How do i install official ics after flashing ics leak

Ok I am new to this sorry if the answer is in one of the many threads already posted but I just don't understand what you guys are talking about!!
I flashed the ICS LEAK for my att skyrocket sgh-i727 but I can't get the OFFICIAL ICS through Samsung Kies because it is not reading my phone. My boyfriend has the same phone and decided to wait for the official ICS update and his connected and updated no problem!
I flashed it using ODIN

BASEBAND VERSION I727UCLD2
KERNEL VERSION 3.0.8-perf-I727UCLD20-CL363164

I just want a step by step WITH LINKS on how to install the official ICS I727UCLF6. Every thread I see gives partial info. Please help my phone has been having some issues and battery life is a problem. THANKS!!:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Honest question for anyone who's smart enough to flash ROMs... why would you ever take the AT&T OTA over what you have from the ROM community? I understand for those who don't want to ROM for whatever reason, but for those who do... AT&T's 4.1 is already going to be behind what we have now, most likely, and certainly won't have the enhancements....
