June 4th Update - HTC One S

So what does the June 4th update mean for me. Will Trickdroid 3.0 be updated then? Should I wait to flash then?

Once updates come out usually devs will work in putting the changes into their roms.
I'm personally waiting to flash a rom til after this update

4.0.4 !!! this is good

I doubt this is 4.0.4... I think there might be a few radio fixes and tweaks but nothing indicates a newer ics version. I guess we'll find out on the 4th.

but it´s only for T-Mobile´s phones i hope european users can install that OTA quickly i feel with 1.78 i have less network than 1.53..

I still see nothing that indicates an update to 4.0.4. The release mentions 4.0.3 though.

Yea, the note says it is still 4.0.3. Is there anything even worth while in 4.0.4 that it is so important other than a number upgrade? Going back the the OP, yes, ROMs like TrickDroid will update the base to the latest. It is for T-MobUS, but I'm sure our boys across the pond will get soon. I'm sure EU ROMs like LeeDroid will update as well as soon as the update is released on the 4th.

+1 - same here, signal is almost useless indoors. Outdoors a lot of fluctuations!

I forget the specifics, but yes, 4.0.4 brings a significant number of improvements, 100+, but nothing you'd notice UI wise. They're all just tweaks to the existing code.

The black interface should save on power (since it takes less to display black)

Whats the difference???

I have a issue that I hope someone can tell me where to find the fix.... I installed the Leak build of K3 rom for the S3 and I noticed issues with a number of graphical apps and games but when I installed other roms like The Executioner 2.5 that was built from the OTA version of the rom and the issues wasn't present on them.. Do anyone know what is different about the OTA roms from the Leak that could cause this issue?
Attached is a example of what I have seen with the leaked version..... I do not know if its the rom or tweaks that was added that resolved this but I would love to use a stock unmodified build of rom but still have this bug resolved.
Any assistance would be appreciated...

All my flashes are clean installations, I do not believe in doing a dirty installation because I see that as nature of all users issues... I cant test if its the leak version that caused the issue because all installations with K3 roms are the leaked version, the OTA is using a new root method so I have been hesitant to flash the stock OTA K3 rom and then try to root it again but I am starting to think that this is the only way to trouble shoot this issue.
I keep getting told that there isn't any differences between the leak and the OTA update but it really seems like it because all roms I install from the stock OTA build doesn't have this issue..
I think I found the difference... I will be testing it later when i get off work...
I.found a.patch that some developers are using in their rims that may be the fix for this... Basically it disables software rendering and allows the device to optimize gpu proformance..
I will know soon...

Thanks but actually that was what I was speaking of but after trying it I had no difference... Still looking for solution.
the differences between the ota and leaked ota was made by samsung for our devices the leaked could be from another device modified for our device
Thanks for reply and I understand that part but my question is built around resolving the video issue with some apps on OTA...
There are roms built from the official OTA that does not have this bug and that is what I am interested in...
Thanks again but that isn't what I meant.

Yes it will, LlabTooFeR confirmed it a while ago

I'm aware...I'm saying there will be a path to newer Android versions whether or not HTC gets around to it this year or next year or if they wait ages to release a "stock official" update. Stock is boring anyways ;P

Install APEX LAUNCHER to get rid of Sense !!!
I've skipped 4.3 and started on KitKat...I'll keep you guys in the loop whenever i get audio tx working, i'll release an alpha for it. haven't forgotten about you guys, i love this phone and want to use it as my DD (even owning an evita, n4, m7 and a totemc2).
hello rifty
@ rift
Thank you much working on it.
Can you maybe tell us when you could do the first releases. Do you think we can see ir even this year ?
Received the update today! HTC Sense 5.5 and Android 4.3 on One Mini. I am on Vodafone Romania
And me today in Italy, no brand !
I recently noticed some multitask issue when switching between opened apps. For example when I'm on Facebook, and I switch to Tapatalk - it looks blurred for about a second. It happens in every app, even with the gallery.
It looks a bit like re-loading an app instead of keeping in cache. It wasnt like that in 4.2.2 version.
Can you guys check yours?
Thanks
I confirm the blurred initial image's app...
But I don't think the app are reloaded since I found them in the same point I leave them...

Anyone else get this update? I'm on sprint. Also, I haven't installed it yet, I presume I need to flash the stock recovery if I choose to take the update

Mmmmh htc did not plan to update the A9 now so maybe it's an update late of MM. But still sense 7.0

The only thing I've noticed is that that amoled saturation controls have been brought back
same here, i'm on sprint. is it ok to flash being deodex?
Not sure. I haven't got too deep into flashing on this phone, as there's not a heck of a lot to flash. Typically no, you would need to be stock odex and stock recovery to take an ota
Sent from my 2PQ93 using Tapatalk
me too , i have this update 2 days ago , only changes i noticed :
* my hand free stopped working with my htc a9 and now its back again
*have new app called ""HTC VIP" , but its not working in my country
@k2buckley yeah, what a shame :/ i guess i'll have to wait and see what's new with this ota. it was a pain in the arse to get all things done yet i have some issues.
I'm getting that annoying notification about the system update. I'm just rooted with twrp. What would be the best way to update?

Have a look in Post TWRP Recovery #2
chapter 8,9 and 10.
NB: Download and save the ota in your sd card (you'll find it in /data/data/com.htc.updater). You could share it for XDA members...
Cheers
was about to ask the question where i could find it, thanks kho
any feedback abt this ota?
Only thing I've noticed is we have an option for the fingerprint scanner to wake the screen and use it as a home button.
it was already there. i think it's just some improvements and bug fixes.

Do you have any idea how long HTC normally takes (e.g. on other devices) to run through the stages? Are we talking about a few days/weeks or even some months again?
If i'm asking already: does HTC support firmware updates by custom ROMs or does one have to flash stock bootloader+ROM first? Huawei had something like that and 'just' updating was never as fast as I wish it would have been
Its usually from when it starts rolling out a couple weeks till everyone gets ota... unless something goes wrong
