Baseband version - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Can anyone help with the last and best known baseband version?
Thanks in advance.

The baseband is region-dependant and a newer baseband don't have to be better for you.
You should look for the baseband included in the firmwares for your region and try one of them. You'll surely note improvement.

Is Hellfire Sandwich v1.9 compatible with my 2012 baseband?

I bought the G2x when it first came out and had no issues flashing ROMs but I had it stolen and got a new one through the insurance company and it has the new 2012 baseband. I understand that there are issues flashing ROMs on this new baseband but most of the information on this was posted a long time ago. I want to know if Hellfire Sandwich is compatible with the new baseband or if I have to downgrade. Thanks!
Even if it isn't it can be made to be: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776843

Lets say I flash a rom that is already compatible with my baseband... will doing this additional step hurt the installation?
It won't. It copies some files and sets some permissions, it makes things the way they should be.

FWIW I've used firmwares from other countries flashing other android devices. Used the ICS ROM for Europe on my GTab 7.7 recently. Zedomax speaks of using different country ROMs in his posting on rooting so it would seem that as long as the device model is correct, one can flash away. Logically, that is. In the real world, things get fuzzy.
So the 900+mb files at sammobile should be the one that i have to download? Thanks

Wind mobile p-999DW RIL and Baseband question

I dont mean to double post but I've been looking around the internetz.and actually using the search on here and have not found an answer.
Most the people on here have a T-Mobile G2x (p-999). And I have a Wind mobile optimus 2x (p-999DW)
Are the RIL's and basebands the same for both these devices? If I falsh an improper ril or baseband will my phone still be compatible with winds network, or will I have to flash a new ril and baseband?
Could you recommended the best ril and basebands for winds network for gingerbread and ics/jb
Sorry for my noobness its just I'm.rather new to flashing roms and I'm looking at paranoid android hackfest jelly bean build 8. And this is the first time I've seen a baseband to flash with the rom.

The RIL and Baseband must match. I've used all the T-Mobile G2X updates on my "WIND" Optimus 2X/G2X and they operate on WIND without any problems other than the problems they have anyway regardless of network. I don't use ICS or JB, just GB. Stock V21E and V21Y or their direct derivatives work well
Thanks for actually replying. This thread has had a lot of views and 1 reply. Everyone starts somewhere. Also have you used getril ? And if so what's been your experience with it ?
And BTW I'm on the fixed June 5th bb for use with PA build 8

GetRil works fine to determine if the BB and Ril match. Don't use anything for the P990 as that will seriously brick the P999.
Oh it doesn't dectect if you have p-990 or a p-999/p-999DW ?

You really do need to do a lot of reading and research. But to give you a clue, the first thing you need to do is update your radio, modem, baseband, call it what you want. You have a clue in your other post what to look for.

Hi,
This is your baseband (radio or modem) version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514095.
So yes you have the last modem version...
But not necessarily the best

Hi,
Based on users feedback (included me) it seems that the previous modem (M8974A-1.0.25.0.17) works better...
It's the same thing for all, it's not because you have the most recent thing that it's obviously the better thing...
