Hi guys,
I am having SIM card issues on ATT HTC One XL. It has Android 4.2.2 and the SIM card is not being detected. I already went to the ATT store and got a new SIM card but it still doesn't work. Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
It's possible that the contacts on the SIM card aren't meeting with the contacts within the phone properly. Remove your SIM card and put a small piece of adhesive tape on the back side of the SIM card (the dude without the contacts). This will force the contacts together a bit better. This is a relatively common problem with this phone, this method has solved for problem for quite a few people, including me.

HI
i have recently bought a nexus S online, which i believe to be a recond set.. running on 4.0.4
the problem is when i put in my SIM card and switched the phone on, the phone does not recognize the SIM card at all (there's no problem with the SIM card, was/is working perfectly in another phone)
so i tried flashing different sorts of factory image for nexus S, including the SOJU, SOJUA and the SOJUK.. but with all the images i'm still unable to get the phone to recognize the sim..
is it a problem with wrong firmware/radio version? or is it to do with a faulty SIM board?
also, if it IS due to a faulty SIM board, how would you rate the difficulty of replacing it? for a non-experienced pair of hands.. i saw the instructions on ifixit, looks do-able..
Please advice.. thanks

I have the same problem
well.. in the end i solved my problem by replacing the SIM board. works like a charm afterwards. nothing to do with radio or other stuff. =)
I've got a Telus Htc One X that's been rooted, bootloader unlock and s-off'd. I installed CM 10.1 on it and it ran fine for about a week and then it quit picking up the sim card.
I've tried factory resets on both CM 10.1 and stock rooted Telus sense rom with no luck along with the acclaimed tape on the back of the sim card trick. I have also tried two other sim cards and taken the backing off the phone to give the sim holder contacts a shot of cleaner.
Warranty is out of the question, anyone have any ideas?
Seems to me like you've tried everything short of replacing the sim card tray.

I think that's where the problem may lie. I cannot find any info on replacing the sim card holder although they are readily available on Ebay.
The thick paper won't work, with the phone apart I can apply pressure to the backside of the sim holder and it does not remedy the problem.

Was worth a shot. But if your manually holding it on place I doubt replacing the tray would help

hi , this happens mostly when you insert a corrupted sim card .for example you cut it for creating micro sim and didn't do well . please be careful be aware of any pressure and hard action when you are trying to insert sim card .
anyway , you should show issue to a expert shopper to look accurately .

The HTC One S did have problems with the SIM card locking in place or something similar. I believe it was just loose and the SIM card couldn't be read. You should try and get a new SIM, if that doesn't work it is your phone.

My son try to help me and cut the sim. End up with broken sim tray and had to replace($89 at shop). Then I got the micro sim from carrier. 2 weeks latter I get the "no sim" message. Had to re-set the sim. Work for next week and happen again. Then I read about the "tape trick". Put 1 or 2 layers of clear tape on back of sim and the problem was gone. 3 months, and still do not have sim problem. I learn that most of the micro sim devices have that problem ( HTC and Samsung).
Hey, so I got this problem with the original HTC one SV (european version with SIM card model) and had to get another logic board. Ordered one from ebay and it has finally arrived. Now the problem is - that this HTC ONE SV from USA is Boost version with 4G LTE and it has no sim card slot, pre-programmed sim card literally inside of the phone. However, I took off the sim reader and unplugged it from the old PCB which is easily done, and replaced it on to the new working PCB. now if I start my phone it will ask for the PIN code, it does recognize the sim card from the other phone sim reader that I have attached, but it does not pick up the signal. And if I go to settings menu in about section it still shows old pre-programmed phone number and not the new one.
How do I go about reprogramming it to EU version official HTC ONE SV? Hope to hear some suggestions.
Thanks
Hey everyone!
I need some advice from an experienced member. More of a theoretical issue - can a phone not recognizing a SIM card be a software issue if the wifi is working?
I'm having some trouble with an old phone (S4 active ATT I537). I managed to flash it back to stock and played around with it for a few days, rooting, a ROM etc then restarted it one time and now it will not recognize the SIM card. It's driving me crazy I tried cleaning the contacts but I'm about to just sell it as is.
-Same SIM works in an S4 I337 right after I take it out of the active and put it in
-Wifi works on both phones
