Phones came out last week. It is a great phone to own. Well I have the max. It just runs. No issues yet. It is the best android besides the x on the market.

I messed with the Maxx yesterday. It's almost as thin as my S4. Excited to see how thin the Ultra is. It will be here today but 3. Got tracking after midnight.
The ultra is really thin. Feels almost like a toy. It was a bit to plasticky for me though.

My friend wants to buy Droid Maxx, does anyone know can we use GSM eu sim in it ?
Our frequency is GSM 900/1800, UMTS 2100
I just got the ultra... Feels great. Doesn't give a toyish cheap feel at all. One concern... The sim card is smaller than what's in my s4, so how can I switch between phones?

You will have to call in to Verizon to switch devices - that would be the fastest way to do it. The new Droids use Nano-SIM cards vs. the micro of the S4.

Fastest way would be to buy an adapter that makes the nano sim a micro.

Not sure that would work. The Micro sim will not fit on the piece that goes into the phone. Calling VZW seems to be the way. What a pain.

Well, that depends on your location and if you can just go to a store to buy an adapter, but I would assume a phone call to Verizon would be faster than buying an adapter online and waiting for it to ship to you. Not to mention what EVOme just mentioned.

If you're switching multiple times then calling would be a hassle. Get a nano sim and an adapter that makes it the size of a micro and it'll be good.

Yes, agreed, but in this particular case, he needs to activate the Ultra now, which means the fastest way is to call up Verizon to do it. I'm just saying, for now, just give them a quick call. I don't think anyone would argue that getting an adapter for future switching is slower than calling each time.

The fact that he doesn't have a nano Sim means he needs to go to the store. They can't activate it with out the proper Sim.

Call took about 8 minutes to get switched. Not bad at all..I gotta say I like the feel of the Ultra over the S4. Also, it's far snappier than the S4. Lag has always been an issue with the Samsung.
Glad you got it worked out and are enjoying it.

i thought you meant the 3G/voice call feature/unlocked version/unbranded version. Tmobile does have hspa+ variant, no hardware for voice support.

I saw this gorgeous phone recently. The sharpness of the screen + amazing viewing angles + the rest absolutely blew my mind.
I've also seen it is reasonably durable. I figure with a case it should be relatively good to go..
The problem I have is with no external SD card and absolutely no data to spare. (200 mb is my limit)
This phone loses its viability for me if I can't get more than 16 gb storage.
I googled about and haven't found anything about a 32gb version besides rumored spec sheets.. I am hoping maybe someone here will have heard something I haven't. Does anyone out there know anything about a possible 32 gb version of the One X with LTE support?

I'm Australian and as far as I know our version is only available at a Telstra (the carrier) store, on a Telstra plan.

I am expecting my S3 to arrive from Amazon today. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to using the sim card they send with it opposed to getting one from the Verizon store?
I guess what I am asking is if there are any strings attached or anything like that if I use the sim card amazon provides?
Thanks!

So you just stick an AT&T SIM card in there and it'll automatically switch to it? Was your phone already activated on the Sprint network? I'm curious since Sprint would tie in with the ESN activation for CDMA. If it's just as simple as putting in an AT&T or Tmobile SIM, then I'm sure getting it!

I bought a Nexus 5 from Best Buy and I'm an AT&T customer. Yes, the phone will automatically connect to AT&T's network. It took a few minutes to convince the BB employee that the phone would work on AT&T. They also insisted it was store policy that they activate every phone they sell, so I had to pay the $30 activation fee.

because all N5's sold in North America are the same model, with the same frequencies (D820), the only thing that may have to be changed is the APN.
this is not like other Sprint specific devices like the G2 (LS980) vs the AT&T G2 (D800)
AT&T - D800
GSM 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS 850/1900/2100
LTE 1900(2)/1700(4)/850(5)/700(17)
Sprint - LS980
GSM 850/1900
CDMA 800/850/1900
UMTS 850/1900
LTE 1900(25)/800(26)/2500(41)

That would have been awesome, I don't understand why everybody charges $100 more unless Google really is taking a hit on each one they sell.
Glad you got them to price match, they wouldn't budge for me. Brought them a few receipts where other people did it, brought them the price printed. They just kept telling me it's not the same phone, got to the point where I was just tired of wasting my time with them and didn't want to wait on the Play Store so I just got it at full price.

I don't think Google is necessarily taking a hit but I do think they are selling them just slightly above cost. You have to remember that Google isnt a electronic sales company like Apple, they make all of their profits from there data mining and advertising business. Android is just another medium to collect data and deliver ads. So they could give these away for free and still benefit. However companies like best buy and sprint make their money off of retail sales and cell phone plans. So they are trying to maximize profits that way.
Anyways bummer that they didn't match for you. I guess I just got luck. I walked in not feeling to confident with my play store ad. They were cool but hesitant. After the guy asked his manager he said that they normally wouldn't match the play store but were will to make an exception.
I am in the same boat but for T Mobile. Anyone know if this phone will work for T Mobile as well? I would believe so but I want to make especially if BB is going to charge me an activation fee.

More total storage and more room for apps. I will leave the option off in M that combines storage, so can use the sd as media only. I have a 200gb card and has my entire music collection and also some movies, game roms, comics, books and Gear VR media. I like my stuff in one local place. Convenient and zero reliance on cloud or OTG storage.

I would suggest calling the store that you plan on going to and ask them. I wouldn't trust the online store availability, I've had the website say "unavailable" when a product was actually available at the store.

Right now they are "shipping" only, and with pre-order. Best bet is wait till they show available and give the actual store a call. I have never bought one outright from a store, always did online.

The Moto X Pure Edition is categorized at Best buy as "Unlocked" which means that you should be able to purchase it without any contract/service plan. You should be able to walk out of the store with nothing more that the cell phone.
FYI the 16gb black model probably has the best chance of being in stock. For me, it is saying "Add to Cart" rather than "Pre-Order" like the other models.
