[Q] help! broken antenna - HTC One S

ok so heres the deal.... I beleive my antenna is broken. I was having problems getting no service off and on for about 3 weeks. It would randomly start and stop the mobile service. Wifi would work fine. Most of the time the service would be off during the day and then about 3-4am it would connect. I went to a local mobile repair place and i beleive between them and my self we have determined it to be the antenna. my sim card works in other devices. other sims do NOT work in my device. I have unlocked the device to help determine the issue. It reads any sim card fine. Just wont connect to service.
so heres the real issue. I took the phone apart. It does look like the antenna is damaged. at the bottom of the phone where the wire from the mother board connects to the antenna has contacts that touch the case. Looks like the 2 little gold contacts right after the soldierd connection is bad. I do NOT have enough confidence to repair such an item. The repair shop i took it to says that they cant do it beacuse they cant get the parts. So what do i do?
I cant afford to buy a new $400 phone, especially only because of a flake of mettal fell off. Anyone have any suggestions? All would be greatly appreciated. I really miss my phone. Basically its like an ipod now.. lol

I think I have the same problem. I made a thread last week about it. I tried everything to try to fix it. I am gonna send my phone into HTC next week.

Cell signal/wifi not working after replacing screen. Help

I've been working on repairing a htc sensation that got ran over. Had some spare parts so thought i try it out. All that seemed damaged at first glace when i open the phone was the lcd screen and digitalizer. Haven't noticed anythign broken on the board.. I've recently replaced both the lcd screen and digitalizer. The cell phone will not get cell signal and when attempting to turn wifi on, it gives me an error. These both used to work before it was damaged. I was wondering if anyone had a breakdown on the modules inside the phone, like which one was for wifi, and which one was for the cell signal?
So i got the phone to pick up cell signal now. Looks liek when the phone got ran over some of the pins were bent too far away from the backplate. Once i bent it out, it picked up signal just fine.
Wifi on the other hand is still giving me an error. I can't help but think it's hardware since i've flash firmware, radio, hboot, and rom already. Any one got ideas or anything? Where is the wifi located on the hardware?
Thanks for anyone who can help!!!
Hard damage dude...
Im sorry to know that

wasn't my sensation =P Mine's perfectly fine. just a friend of mines. Amazingly i've got everything but the wifi to work. These phones are built amazinly. Got ran over and the damage is no where near what i expected it to be.

No signal on sensation 4g

hey guys!
I have a bit of a puzzeler on my hands, hopefully you guys may be able to help me out!
I have the Htc sensation 4g from Vrigin canada
A few days ago i noticed that my signal strength was at 0, and i was unable to make any calls or surf the web.
So i go to virgin, and they set me up with a new sim (or three) to no avail.
I then call tech support, and they inform me that, simce my phone is over one year old, i cannot have the phone covered under the warrenty , no insurance me must fix the phone myself.
some information about the phone : I am s-off, running the latest radio (from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867 ) on android revolutions's stock ics.
I believe i have tried everything, but maybe i missed something, here is what i have tried:
remove battery
factory reset
new sim
update radio
update ril
update firmware
lift connectors on back of phone to insure proper connection to back cover
try new back cover
remove old sim/sd reader replace with new sim/sd reader
return to stock rom
So that's that, what do you guys think? Do I have a bad radio transmitter/receiver? bad main board?
Every thing else on the phone works, even the wifi and fm radios.
I have noticed that occationally the phone will show a couple bars, but upon calling it says that i am not registered on the network. most of the time the phone reads no signal no network provider under settings->about phone->network
I really appreciate any insight that you may be able to offer!!
Thanks!

So your provider is not willing to help? If you are paying your provider monthly and your device isn't registering on there network I would give them a call. Simply state your device is no longer registering on there network and ask them what are they going to do about it? I would be furious if they refused to help me because device is out of warentee! Sounds like your kind of stuck . You have tried everything. Perhaps give your provider one more call and see if they can at the very least trouble shoot your device. Just because your device is out of warentee don't mean you still don't pay them monthly for service. By chance have you tried a new sim card? Just a thought....I do hope you get this issue solved soon. Best wishes
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.
thanks for the advice, I believe that I will give them a call tomorrow and see if there is anything that they can do for me...
ok guys, I managed to get my phone signal back up and going once again, but it was no easy matter. for those who may happen along from Google or what not, here is the solution:
Buy a sensation with a busted screen, remove guts, place in your phone, re assemble, make phone calls again.
I initially just swapped out the main boards, thinking that the problem was with the antenna connections or something. I put my phone back together and still nothing. deflated.
I took the phone back apart and swapped in the flex cable, antenna connector cable, and the board at the top of the phone. after putting it all back together everything worked, I'm thinking that replacing the top portion of the main board was all that needed to be done; I replaced everything just to be safe.
so there you have it, i hope this helps anyone who stumbles upon this with a similar problem. my problem was a hardware problem.

Possible Water Damage

So I bought a Verizon Galaxy off of Craigslist, as I wasn't due for an upgrade. I was able to activate the phone just fine and I checked the water damage sticker behind the battery, all was good. About a week later I started getting the "Mobile Network Not Available" error. I've had Verizon replace the SIM card 3 times and all three times the phone would work intermittently. I contacted Samsung and sent it in for repair, they marked it as "Liquid Damage on PBA Components" and marked it as "Beyond Economical Repair. Does anyone know if the PBA is the mobo? And possibly where to find one. I've found the SIM tray available for purchase but I don't know if this is the right fix. I talked to a cell phone repair tech and he said since it's only the phone functionality intermittently that I could clean the corrosion off of the board with Acetone. Anyone have any recommendations for me? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
P.S. The phone is being delivered to me today.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just order a new motherboard.

I broke my screen, had it replaced, and now am getting "No Service" error

Hi guys,
I cracked my screen two days ago and took it to a repair shop. They replaced the screen, and it looks great, but I am unable to make calls/texts on the phone. Most of the time, there is a triangle up top in the notification bar indicating that I don't have service. The SIM card is working fine. I tried using it on a different phone and it still works great, but it is not working on the Xperia Z3. It did work very briefly for about 20 seconds and I was able to make one call, but then it went back to no service. Do you think they messed something up when they fixed the phone?
For what it's worth, the SIM card was working fine after the drop. I was still seeing texts/calls coming in, but I couldn't answer them since my touch screen was unresponsive.
Claim more and claim hard about it. Sony service centre all over the world sometimes (well, most of the times) did some crap things like that and other craps. Contact them again and ask them for replacement or just fix your phone.
Just sue 'em if they charge you a crazy price

Radio off after repair

Hey everybody!
I just got my phone back from being repaired from water damage. HTC U11 plus.
Everything is working fine but the mobile network doesnt connect. I´ve tried everything, turn phone on/off, airplane mode on/off complete reset of phone. The sim card works fine in other phones. Wifi and bluetooth are working.
I´ve contacted the place I had it repaired but no answer yet.
I never rooted the phone cause I never had a reason to, maybe doing so would help solve the issue?
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
i got the same problem with my U11 plus. drop it from bed height. no damage seen physically then after i updated last february no mobile radio network. talk to htc reps ans said to send for repair. bottomline it end up motherboard issue, they replace my motherboard. but heads up it will take one and half for mine to get back.

Thanks for the reply, my phone couldn't be repaired under guarantee so the eBay seller I got it from had it sent for repair somewhere else. Apparently there was a lot of damage and they seemed to have fixed everything but maybe didn't check the SIM card?
