Htc one xl latest software version - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi all,
I just wanted to find out if I am using the latest software released by HTC for One XL. I am using international version of unlocked one's xl.
As per the screenshot my software version is 3.17 but I have read at a few places that the latest version is 3.18
Also I think this might be important to state here that I am supercid

3.18 is only for AT&T (US). 3.17 is the newest firmware for your version.
I do not believe there were any significant changes that differentiate 3.17 from 3.18. In fact, some custom ROMs (like CleanROM) actually reverted from 3.18 back to 3.17, since the AT&T specific meddling caused significant issues and removed some functionality.

Thanks this is most helpful

Is there a specific thread for htc xl international version? I bought mine here in saudi arabia and i am planning to install custom rom.pls. Can someone lead me to a link. Thanks.

What does it say in your bootloader? If it shows your device as Evita_UTL, we don't have a forum for that specific device. Plus there is very little known about it.

This has nothing to do with the OP. Should have started your own thread.

Anyone using the HK version of XL is the FW is still 1.77?

I saw a topic ASIA version always up-to-date with OTA new FW
but for my HK version is still 1.77 and when I checked online update in the menu it said my device is up-to-date.
Is anything wrong with my phone so I can't get OTA update?
My XL is still running 1.77 as well.
The 4.04 OTA is only for the Asian version, which only has English and Simp. Chinese language built in.
The One XL available in Hong Kong has a dedicated ROM version, which is still based on ICS 4.0.3.

It seems that HK firmware is so perfect it doesn't need any updating.
Come on guys, am so close to root and install cleanrom, it has been more that 2 months and we didn't see any update.

I'm holding out for Jelly Bean on the Hong Kong version, that or I was thinking about flashing the Telstra 1,89 RUU on it.
I gave up last week. I unlocked my phone, rooted it and flashed it with asia 2.23.
I am happy now.

Me too. I unlocked and installed cleanrom 4.5.

about to switch to the one xl (x325s)

I'm about to make the switch from the GS3 to the asian/international htc one xl (x325s) and i just to know one more thing: root.
I've read here that root is NOT possible on anything later than SW version 1.85. according to the store i'm purchasing it from, its shipping with either 1.88, 1.89 or maybe even 2.20 (highly unlikely).
would it still be possible to root the phone?
Thanks
The currently unrooted One XL applies only to the AT&T carrier branded version. All others can be unlocked thru htcdev.....

I see. so the international one xl, once unlocked from htcdev, can be rooted regardless of its software version? i ask because i searched the forums and saw that the >1.85 root restriction apply to the telestra (aus) one xl as well.

Htc one XL jelly bean

I have a Htc one XL on At&t and I was wondering if I unlocked my phone will I be able to get the update with the International phones?
Sent from my HTC One X
No, you cannot flash international roms. You can however wait to get the jelly bean update for our phone.

I thinks he means if he unlocks the bootloader, later on wants to know if he can relock and revert back to stock and update to jellybean when it comes out for the one xl, and he could. But like ECEXCURSION said do not flash any international roms on your dual core one xl..
Ps why does your sig say htc one x instead of xl?
wrong section !!

Trying to load anything for the international One X will either fail or brick your phone. They are two different phones with the same name.
The AT&T One X/XL is completely different hardware internally than the international version. The fact that JB has rolled out for the international version has no bearing on our version, and it hasn't started rolling out yet.
We already have a Jellybean thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772429
Redundant thread closed.

Upgrading roms for an Australian HOX - SOLVED

Hello,
I have a custom ROM on my HOX. I am from Australia and am on the Virgin Mobile network which borrows off of Optus Mobile network. I have the ICS Maximus ROM. I have been reading and now know that the ROM is no longer available for upgrade, the user left the scene. I am looking for a different ROM to upgrade to Jelly Bean but am not sure now.
What confuses me is that the threads here are for "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra" will that affect me at all since I am not on these networks and the fact that I am from a different country? I am thinking of trying the CleanROM 6 R2 -★| AT&T 3.18 Jellybean Base! | Smooth and Stable! I am unsure if I can use it. I am also not sure about this radio thing. Being able to change radio on the phone. Anyone's help would greatly be appreciated.
Cheers
You can use any of the roms.

As I understand those roms use different radios / modem, which means different bands networks use. Which will not work on an Australian phone without flashing the correct radio / modem
You're better off getting a Rom from the international thread. They're all compatible with Australias networks

Go the international hox thread and u will find loads of jb.
But u will need to upgrade your hboot so u will find how to upgrade ur hboot in the rom u choose to flash
Good luck

Wrong forum. This is the dual-core One XL and you have a quad-core One X. Anything in here you flash will brick your phone. You need to be here:

My bad. I'm terrible at noticing when its international one x

No updates at this time
Unlock your bootloader, install custom recovery, install whatever ROM you want.

The update was for HOX in Asia, not HOXL. If you haven't gotten any update prompt, that means there is no update. What's the confusing part?
I agree with timmaaa...it makes no sense staying on the stock ROM. if you're not doing it because of warranty, the HOXL has been out since June 2012 which means they won't help you hardware-wise
Sent from my HTC One XL using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
There have been updates released for the HOXL for HTC in Asia, they were among the first to be released, refer to the RUU & OTA thread. Even though the phone has been out since May 2012, if the user has recently bought the phone he's still under warranty.

Unfortunately, that doesn't really mean anything. Folks have had issues checking for updates, when an update is known to exist. And no RUUs exist yet for Android 4.2.2/Sense 5, so you cannot update manually by RUU (which would be the sure solution). Some folks have had success with doing a factory reset (somehow makes the update come through) but its not guaranteed by any means. Or you can try to download the flash the OTA manually with stock recovery (not personally knowledgeable about the process).

There is no update for Eva utl.
This forum is not even really for your variant of the HTC one xl, xda does not have a forum for your device.
