Upgrading roms for an Australian HOX - SOLVED - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hello,
I have a custom ROM on my HOX. I am from Australia and am on the Virgin Mobile network which borrows off of Optus Mobile network. I have the ICS Maximus ROM. I have been reading and now know that the ROM is no longer available for upgrade, the user left the scene. I am looking for a different ROM to upgrade to Jelly Bean but am not sure now.
What confuses me is that the threads here are for "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra" will that affect me at all since I am not on these networks and the fact that I am from a different country? I am thinking of trying the CleanROM 6 R2 -★| AT&T 3.18 Jellybean Base! | Smooth and Stable! I am unsure if I can use it. I am also not sure about this radio thing. Being able to change radio on the phone. Anyone's help would greatly be appreciated.
Cheers

You can use any of the roms.

As I understand those roms use different radios / modem, which means different bands networks use. Which will not work on an Australian phone without flashing the correct radio / modem
You're better off getting a Rom from the international thread. They're all compatible with Australias networks

Go the international hox thread and u will find loads of jb.
But u will need to upgrade your hboot so u will find how to upgrade ur hboot in the rom u choose to flash
Good luck

Wrong forum. This is the dual-core One XL and you have a quad-core One X. Anything in here you flash will brick your phone. You need to be here:

My bad. I'm terrible at noticing when its international one x

You sure that you're in the right forum? There's only 1 stable AOKP rom for the AT&T One X. Do you have the AT&T version or the International version? Different phones and the ROMs are not interchangeable.

Your phone will become a $365-$400 useless paper weight. Never flash a ROM that's not for your phone!!! They have different CPUs.

There's only 2 of them at all. 1 for ICS and 1 for JB. Did you even search for them? They aren't very hard to find. I don't mean to be rude but if you even looked in the original development forum you would see it. Here's the link anyway. In the future please try searching instead of asking questions that you could answer with 2 simple clicks of your mouse.

You can definitely root the Rogers One X. You'll have to unlock the boot loader, root the phone, and then install TWRP recovery to flash a rom. There are many guides on how to do those. You'll only be able to install One X roms from this forum. The international One X roms won't work.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
S-Off has not been achieved for this phone. But you can unlock the bootloader, root, and install custom ROMs.
You can only install custom ROMs in the AT&T, Rogers etc. forum. Our device is the Snapdragon S4 dual core version. The "international" version is a completely different chipset (Tegra3 quad core), and ROMs are not interchangeable. Not only will flashing a ROM for the "other" One X not work, it may also brick your phone.
My index is a good place to start looking for things: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
In particular, in the "ROOT" section you will find a link for the Rogers root method. The thread is old. So make sure you research that it works for your firmware version.
I don't personally have the Rogers One X, so hopefully somebody else will come on and give some more in-depth help with the bootloader unlock, root process.
Hey I have the Rogers HTC One x and all I did was unlock the bootloader via HTC Dev and then put a recovery (TWRP) via ADB commands. Then I was able to successfully flash a ROM.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
Follow my guide (in my signature) for the Telus variant. The files attached in my guide is also applicable for the Rogers variant as well.
As redpoint mentioned, S-OFF is not yet possible but you can unlock your bootloader and then install a custom recovery to get a custom ROM with root permissions.
Make sure you write down your Rogers APN's before you do anything though. Not sure if Rogers needs two APNs like Telus does, but if you want to keep your default LTE/APN settings, write them down or back them up so you can restore them EXACTLY after you flash a new ROM.

I belive that Rogers only needs one and telus also only requires one APN.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Yea Rogers needs one APN, the LTE one. Which can be easily found by a simple google search.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
My Telus HOX, works on one apn, however it needs a second one for LTE to work properly on Telus.
On Rogers, just had the one apn and it was or seemed fine to me.

Strange, I'm currently using one APN for my HOX on Telus for LTE. What is your second Apn address?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
I agree, strange.
Another Telus member come up with it.
So just make another apn, keep your original.
Then just add,
NAME: Telus ISP
APN:ISP.TELUS.COM
APN TYPE: DUN

Firmware bits?

When I had the HTC Evo 4g LTE and there was updates we were able to download all the firmware bits except the Hboot. Is there anything like this for the HTC One X or do I just flash the rom. I was told in the forum for the Evo that to fully utilize the fixes they offered we would have to download the firmware bits first then flash the rom. thanx
Ok so is my question so stupid that no one wants to answer or does no one really know the answer... I found radio upgrades and stuff like that but not the actual firmware bits... I also found the ruu but then I have to go through the whole unlocking thing again...
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
It's not a stupid question. I'm curious about this too.
Sent from my HTC One XL
I did some more research but couldn't find anything... It would be nice to be able to flash the bits but I don't know how much of that is needed. I remember freezer used to do it for the htc evo 4G lte so maybe I can ask him how and try to do it myself... It's worth a try
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Never seen anything about firmware bits in the on htc one xl forums.
Bump.
I suppose you would have to upgrade the firmware by locking your bootloader, running a new ruu, then unlocking it. I wouldn't try it with anything later then 1.85 though.

Custom roms

i have 16 giga htc x one rooted with reovery, and i wanna download cutom roms .. can i flash roms from the regular htc x one roms "http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1533" or i must flash roms from here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538" and where can i download best sense based custom rom
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, are you on crack?
Have you looked at a single thread in this forum???
You can only flash roms for YOUR phone because that is the phone YOU have.
i was wondering as we have here only few roms but the others have alooooooooot .. so where r best sense based rom please?? .. and it is good u stopped me before going any further thanks Allah
no "best" sense rom, but imo the easiest and most stable is cleanrom. i tried a few of the others but i always went back to cleanrom. im using CM10 right now.
i haven't tried this sense rom but it was highly anticipated [ ROM ] Calkulin's One XL v1.0c [ 2.40 l Fast l Tweaked l Battery Saver Script ]
Do some heavy research before you even think about flashing anything dude. Don't wanna see another beautiful phone bricked.

You have three choices:
Option 1: close your browser, forget about xda and never think of rooting/modifying your phone again.
Option 2: ignore everyone giving you advice, flash whatever you like, see what happens.
Option 3: actually listen to what the patient people here are telling you to do, f-ing read the tutorials!! How hard is it?!

i actually had htc hero and hd2 before but i am new with this mobile so i have some questions as this section named Q&A
So if you've been around xda for a while, you'd be familiar with the forum rules right? You know, the ones that state you must search before posting. There are many threads already covering this exact subject. If you had searched you would have seen that.
But, forgetting that, look at the very first answer DvineLord have you in this thread, it's pretty damn clear dude:
One X ROMs can only be flashed to the One X.
One XL ROMs can only be flashed to the One XL.

this FABULOUS guide to all resources available to one xl is a must read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33284110&postcount=2118 it among other things lists all the custom roms available on ATT HTC one x(l) if this is indeed the phone you have. if you have the intl version of the one x you should not be posting here. :silly: or flashing anything from here unless you wanna end up driving over your phone
Listen to DvineLord, bookmark that link he gave you and stick to it. If you try to flash anything from the other sections you WILL brick your phone.

Att HTC one X won't update to jelly bean.

This is the correct forum for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
How do I move This thread to the one xl forum, or do I have to just start a new one? Im new to the forum so sorry for the dumb question.
Click the tiny orange triangle in upper tight hand corner of your post. In the text field type please move to xxxx and for reason select post moving .
Thread moved bud. Just be mindful where you go posting next time. XDA has done a good job at making sure each specific device has it's own forums.
Thanks
